Not a huge problem: the HDMI interface won't cause any development differential, either. All the article is showing is that Sony are bringing out a cheaper model, for those who don't have a new tv and won't be storing lots of (saves of) games on the HD. I would imagine the cheaper version is pegged to compete directly with the Xbox 360.
