Thats because metal rocks!

God, you aren't one of those 'tr00 metal' elitists, right? The kind of people who like really loud metal because it pisses their parents off?

And no, nobody needs to point out the irony in me calling someone else an elitist.

I think it's ironic because you're an elitist yourself. :x

Turmion Katilot is awesome. I assume youve heard of them, being from Finland?

I listen to another band called Ruoska as well, but they are nowhere near as good as TK.

Roshan u said rock was horrid on my page and yet here u are talking about finnish metal bands

Metal is not rock.

Because he said ROCK was horrid. Not metal, not Hard Rock but ROCK. There is a confusing difference.

Actually I'm just bugging you, I couldn't care less :(

Im not very familiar with heavy rock to judge it, but I have not encountered any hard rock band whose music appeals to me.

I think it's ironic because you're an elitist yourself.

Elitism is not necessarily a negative construct. :)"

It certainly was when I used it.

And elitist, in this case, isn't someone who is part of the elite, but rather someone who believes in 'the elite' and manages, for some obscure reason, to imagine that he or she is part of it.

BTW, for anyone who has not yet heard "Horror Show" by Iced Earth, I would highly recommend it.

The more I listen to Iced Earth, the more I really like this band. I think they have the potential of being a big name band.

If you like thoughtful (but not overly defeatist) lyrics and a metal that is more like Iron Maiden and Metallica than the "cookie monsters" out there, this band might be for you.

hopeful or skeptical?

seriously, Jon Schaffer can write some lyrics and he knows how to bring the rest of it together, too.

In addition to Iced Earth, he is involved in a project called "Demons and Wizards".

from the website:

Demons & Wizards is a project featuring Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth and Hansi K

Umm...Iced Earth IS big. At least as big as it can become, being a metal act. That's what I was laughing at at.

If you like thoughtful lyrics

Thoughtful lyrics?

One of the reasons i could never get into Iced Earth back in my metal days were the badly written lyrics. That, and the terrible singing.

Then again, Iced Earth are supposed to be inspired by Iron Maiden, another band with terrible lyrics. Lucky for the latter, i couldn't understand a single word of english when i first got into them...

11. Damien

So the beast resides in me

Deep down I always knew

I never really did fit in

So diverse from all of you

Let him who understands

Know the number of the beast

It's a number of a man

A number just for me

As the boy becomes a man

Father's minions pave the way

Set in motion now, Armageddon,

Final conflict, end of days

I embrace the hounds of hell

And the power they oblige

For the task that lies ahead

The Nazarene I'll crucify

They'll see the raptures of our kingdom

They'll see the truth to mankind

I'll show what hell truly is

The monotony of their lives

When the Jews return to Zion

And a comet fills the sky

The Holy Roman Empire rises

And you and I must die

From the eternal sea he rises

Creating armies on either shore

Turning man against his brother

Till man exists no more

Now Disciples of the Watch

See your Prince of Darkness rise

Through famine and destruction

The Four Horsemen at my side

I demand a victory, I demand a sacrifice

Or spend all eternity

In the flaccid gut of Christ! Hahahahahahahahahahaha
