alanschu Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I'd rather they complain that their goalie let in a goofy goal. Though as an Oiler fan that sucked for me because it pretty much ended Salo's career.
mkreku Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I love the Olympics ) By the way, my dream finals would be Sweden vs. Finland. I want the gold and I want Finland to be there and watch us win it! Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
alanschu Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Hehe, I'll admit I enjoyed winning Gold over the US in 2002
Deraldin Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I love the Olympics )<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bah! We still have more medals than you!
mkreku Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Bah! We still have more medals than you! Yes, but if we get a medal in the Olympic men's hockey, that counts as 23 medals at once Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
alanschu Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Well, we won gold with Women's Hockey. BUt I guess you won a medal there too.
Diamond Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Hehe, just woke up to find out that we beat Canada, yay Regarding medal rank, every other participant has yet to reach Germany's level.
Hurlshort Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Pronger had more minor penalties than any other player in the Olympics, according to a commentator. Seriously, the guy has no discipline.
alanschu Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 He's done alright penalty wise with the Oilers. Funny...he was being criticized because he went the first few games without getting a single penalty.
Oerwinde Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 (edited) Well, I'm disappointed we didn't even place, but the way we were playing I'm not surprised. When they wouldn't allow us to put that loonie at centre ice we knew we were doomed though. Diamond Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Yup, apparently she's damn good. I'm holding my breath.
Cantousent Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I like both the Russian and American. Acutally, all of the girls I've seen so far have been friendly and articulate. Sometimes I cringe when I hear the athletes, but the women figure skaters have been a good bunch. All things being equal, I'd like to see my country win, but I'm happy to see good performances. After years of my wife forcing me to watch Olympic figure skating, I'm actually growing fond of it. On the other hand, the same isn't true for the Academy awards, which I continue to despise with a passion. BTW: Ugly Olympic syndrome isn't reserved for athletes. You're just not cut out for this thread eldar. Get some Olympic spirt and start cursing the Russians!
Diamond Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Well, Japanese girl took the gold medal breaking our monopoly on figure skating gold medals.
Cantousent Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Yeah, but you took bronze, and that is a feat indeed. The little Georgian (country, not state) girl exemplifies the Olympics. She didn't win a medal, but she went out there and gave everything she had. That, not the medal, is why we have Olympics. Gabrielle Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 The Winter Olympics suck this year. Team USA blows.

SteveThaiBinh Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I've enjoyed the Winter Olympics a lot this past fortnight, despite the UK winning only one silver medal and not really threatening for many more. The aerial skiing last night has to be the most entertaining event so far. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
LadyCrimson Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I think more skaters fell on their behinds this time around then in all the past Olympics combined. Fine, it's an exaggeration, but it's still been very frequent. At least, what they show on the network. The US isn't doing too bad medal wise but I think almost half of is from snowboarding.
