"Super Tecmo Bowl"

This was a really fun game. Basically Madden before the Madden. It pretty much had everything I thoguht I wanted in a football game. :(

I second Super Tecmo Bowl :shifty:

Technically, you third it.

He counts to two, I think:

"One, Adri-iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiian",

"Two, Adri-iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiian" ... yep. Two.

Fighting is a form of sport :)

And if you don't believe me, I'm sure my cousin's foot (which is connected to his third degree blackbelt body) could convince you otherwise :D

I don't think Tekken and Mortal Kombat are sports based?

Karate in general is sports based. Tekken and Mortal Kombat? I don't know.  :)

Fighting games *could* be considered a branch of sports games, but for all practical purposes the industry prefers to keep the two genres distinct.

Oh, I do believe that martial arts is a sport, but fighting games are not generally lumped into the sports genre.

I wonder why the game industry seperated them? :)

I guess it is their way of making categories.

For this thread, I don't see a problem. Martial Arts is allways a respected sport.

Was there a game called Speedball for the Amiga? It was some futuristic soccer type game but you used hands and the ball was metal.

EDIT: yes it was called Speedball.

I think I remember something similar to that. Was there a SNES version?

What category is Tekken, then? Bloodsport?

I'd be reluctant to call a sport any game where it is encouraged to kill your opponent.. lol.. i.e Mortal Kombat , Tekken..etc

I don't think people usually *die* in sports.. lol.. usually.

Bloodsport sounds good though :)

I have never played Tekken before. I don't know.

Is there martial arts in the game?

Sure does. It was another fighting game back in the days of the Playstation one (at least the original was). It was distinct in appearance with its cubic-looking 3D fighters.

There are mortal arts.

And capital punishments.

 I will have to try it out. I will have to find an emulator and rom set. :D
