Yes, but first they'd have to tame the ancient art of "rock throwing" .

Unlike some we don't live in the stone age, mostly due to the fact that we drank all our rocks in cocktails before setting sail and puke at sea...throwing up rocks. Where do you think the moon came from? ;)

Hell, Lucius, I'd just offer you a tankard and then set you loose on the neighbors. I know you vikings, slaughtering one folks is as good as slaughtering another. Then I'll baptise you while you're passed out. :Eldar's sly smile icon:

This is probably obvious but FYI, I'm ABC (Australian Born Chinese). Heh, I'm first generation ABC and I can't read or write Chinese

I don't even have that much affliation with my roots. There's home movies of me warbling a little in Korean when I was first adopted by the jolly old US white folks who became my parents, but that's about it.

Have you been reading up on Viking history? I think what you just outlined somewhat sums up how Denmark became Christianized."

Looking over the Military thread an evil nazi conspiracy dawned upon me...

How come the Nazi dared to invade the most powerful nation in the known universe i.e. Denmark? Because we were temporarily disabled by an evil scheme of...christianity...add the german spy Luther to that end and...AAAARGH!!

Some Vikings you are.

Your weakling religion had us crippled for centuries, luckily its on the way out. :ermm:

And Hilde, read up on your history, the invasion was staged. Our social democrat government didn't want to resist and thus we were one of the best treated occupied nations in WW2. In fact, resent discoveries have show that pre-invasion meetings with Hitler was made.

Edit: Not that we could have resisted that much as it were, 80m people against 4.

Besides 24 hours is still longer than France or Poland, and there were only two custom guards at the danish border at the time vs. 10.000.000 Nazis armed to the teeth. Besides we were never conquered, we just pretended to go along with the thought of it to strike once we had gottten accustomed to walk and fight on land. You have to remember that we are or were a seafaring people and the cowardly evil Nazis travelled over land. It was a big shock...but we WON.

The allied forces weren't too happy about how the invincible Viking forces had decimated the Fuhrer bunker and turned the skull of hitler into a beer mug, so they tried to hush them down, which was actually pretty easy since they had been drinking heavily...Okay, okay so the vikings missed the decapitation of Hitler a lot, big deal and...and that's why they never found the body in one piece, but don't tell anyone.

But how about a name change of this thread. I had no idea what this was about initially, based on the title Frappr?? (Add yourself??). 29 people..and they are not all people(?)...out of 13032 members doesn't strike me as a very successful uh, title.

I see 48 entires in the Frappr...which I thought wasn't too bad considering the most likely to "join up" are the so-called regulars.

Our "weakling" religion outlasted you Vikings, and is still going strong. :D The fact that you allowed a "weakling religion" to cripple you in the first place is a pretty sad statement on your part, though. Thor would not be pleased.

Are you talking about just photos or total "members?" If just photos, sorry, misunderstood. But my screen says 48 members (people who've added their location)..

Thor is indeed not pleased, you lot gave our old king lots of cash and he said "OK, lets do it!" and the population was probably drunk anyway, so resistance was feeble.

However, Thor is getting a bonus this Christmas, several of the kiddies at work are now wearing M

There, I finally got around to adding my picture :)

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

--John Stewart Mill--

"Victory was for those willing to fight and die. Intellectuals could theorize until they sucked their thumbs right off their hands, but in the real world, power still flowed from the barrel of a gun.....you could send in your bleeding-heart do-gooders, you could hold hands and pray and sing hootenanny songs and invoke the great gods CNN and BBC, but the only way to finally open the roads to the big-eyed babies was to show up with more guns."
