ShadowPaladin V1.0 Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 http://www.maltzauctions.com/acclaimip.htm I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327
mkreku Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I was looking at that list today and I was wondering why noone had picked up the Bard's Tale International IP.. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
ShadowPaladin V1.0 Posted December 7, 2005 Author Posted December 7, 2005 Oddly enough that one caught my eye too. I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327
Child of Flame Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 It's like watching my childhood being auctioned...
Reveilled Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Wait, what does publishing the rights to a game actually mean? Do they just get the rights to republish the game, or the right to use the name to publish an entirely new game, or what? I'm just wondering what a Hentai game company would be able to do with the rights to "Mary Kate & Ashley Magical Mystery Mall". Hawk! Eggplant! AWAKEN!
Oerwinde Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I wonder how much some of those useless rights go for. Like Batman Forever. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Commissar Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I've got some cash lying around and I'm tempted to put up a bid for Double Dragon.
Laozi Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I hope Hades or Volourn get here before all the WWF titles are gone People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Mondo Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Why would anyone bid on games that other companies have already continued? (Burnout, Narc, Simpsons) Wizards and Warriors was a smart pickup. What if I wanted to kill the other bounty hunters but still have the Twi'leks chase me?
Gorth Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 *Sigh* Fond memories of Re-Volt tournaments... not to mention Bubble Bobble “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
ShadowPaladin V1.0 Posted December 7, 2005 Author Posted December 7, 2005 I saw a version of Bubble Bobble recently. It was on one of the Nintendo hadhelds but I dont remember which one. There only two so you have a 50/50 chance. I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327

If its an IP then the publishers usually owns EVERYTHING, from the doodles of the koncept artists to the patented "technology X" engine and every idea the designers put on paper during development. ( yes, the dev studio basicly sell their souls to the publisher ) If its a franchise then they own everything except that which is part of the license that they bought which is still the property of Warner Bros. if its a Matrix game and so on DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. Gabrielle Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Watching them burn makes me very very happy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At times I think you are more dark and morbid than myself.
Gabrielle Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Hopefully a good company will buy Mortal Combat.
Judge Hades Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Bioware should buy Mortal Kombat, then replace all the characters with Bioware characters so they can face each other in fierce combat! Minsc and Boo versus Darth Malak! Fatality! Boo Wins!
Gabrielle Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Bastila vs Jaheira. Flawless victory Bastila wins!
Child of Flame Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Doesn't Midway already own rights to publish new Mortal Kombat games? Nevermind that though. The high bid on Bust-A-Freaking-Move is low enough at one time I could have boughten it! *sob*
Gabrielle Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Jaheira has some of the best in game quotes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disliked Jaheira. Too manly for my tastes.
Judge Hades Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 You know, I have always thought there was something weird with Jaheira and Khalid. Khalid came off as some gay guy who was still in the closet while jaheira was a "butch" lesbian. It was just very very odd yet not.
mkreku Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I think Bubble Bobble came with Taito Legends on my Playstation 2. I wonder what Acclaim are selling, really Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Darque Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Jaheira has some of the best in game quotes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disliked Jaheira. Too manly for my tastes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See someone you know? "
