Judge Hades Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 When I play Fable I see it as a parody of a CRPG. Kind of like the video game version of my old parody fantasy short story I ritually burned called "Reign of Phallyn Downe." It had every single fantasy cliche ever made in the course of 20 pages. It was the most terrible POS that it was funny in a cringing, quickly runaway funny. Fable is in that same catagory. Man, I expected an F on that story in my creative writing class but the professor gave me an A+. It seemed that my short POS story didn't have a single vampire in it and everyone else did.
Tigranes Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Ah, public education. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
ShadowPaladin V1.0 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 "look at the cheeks on im , arse face really suits im". Most memeorable bit of fable which is kind of sad if you think about it. I still think TLC is worth I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327[/snapback]
Diogo Ribeiro Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 ^I'd be inclined to buy it if it went below
Judge Hades Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Ah, public education. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, Iowa State University.
14884_1556103668 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I played fable with an open mind, but gave it up after a few hours as it...sucked badly "Chicken kicker?" *yawn
Azure79 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Was thinking of buying Fable TLC for PC but the 49.99 price tag made me cringe and back down. I don't think its worth a 50 dollar price tag.
Tigranes Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Thanks Hades, now I'm mildly surprised in a negative way. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Hurlshort Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I wonder what people were expecting from this game? It's a very standard story about a family of heroes. It wasn't epic like BG or Torment, but I wouldn't say it was boring. It was a fun bit of storytelling and character development. The sad thing is, it's a creative project, and if it doesn't sell, we'll just see less creative projects out there. I would really like someone to take all the mechanics and concepts of this game and make an epic story for it.
Musopticon? Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 take all the mechanics and concepts of this game and make an epic story for it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good story is enough for me. No need for epic. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
kirottu Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I actually liked Fable This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

And I cant say Fable was very creative, it was actually very bland but with the trademark Lionhead "features" that they throw in to make a boring game concept interesting but always fails. Like how they failed to hide that B&W was just a plain old repetitive RTS with some fancy thrown in for good measure. Now, nowadays you make games after tried&tested concepts and put the originality in the features because thats what fans want (and publishers sadly dont want to take any risks with new and inventive ideas). But youre supposed to work on the CORE features like story, gameplay, art design etc. and NOT on silly little peripheral details like being able to grow sideburns.
