Date movie and every other movie like it is bad, and will continue to suck. I think Jay Pinkerton said it best, "Comedies getting laughs sending up films that were already intended to be funny is like someone making fun of The Daily Show for resembling a news program. It turns out the joke was already there, and you were too stupid to get it."

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.

So what do you guys think about the new Indy movie that's coming out? Think Harrison Ford will still have his whip skills?

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

--John Stewart Mill--

"Victory was for those willing to fight and die. Intellectuals could theorize until they sucked their thumbs right off their hands, but in the real world, power still flowed from the barrel of a gun.....you could send in your bleeding-heart do-gooders, you could hold hands and pray and sing hootenanny songs and invoke the great gods CNN and BBC, but the only way to finally open the roads to the big-eyed babies was to show up with more guns."

No, but I've heard from my friends that it was pretty bad. I might see it one of these days.

Nothing wrong with a bit of an age difference now is there?

Am I right, fellas? Am I right? As long as it's legal, of course

I would bet the new Indy has a "passing of the torch" type theme.

Dr. Jones is getting pretty up there in age....and you can only keep it in the 30s for so long.

I wonder if everything will be CGI, and the only real person will be Harrison.

I actually feel guilt for derailing this thread.

I watched a Nick BroomField film the other day:

The Leader, The Driver and The Driver's Wife.

Its a film about Nick trying to get an interview with Eugene Terre'Blanche, leader of the South African Neo Nazis. The film was made in 1991 so the timing is important as it was shortly before the end of apartheid. Its quite funny in places as Nick repeatedly tries and fails to get an interview with the Leader. This is in contrast to scenes where a town Mayor describes how white Christians are God's chosen people and that AIDS is here to kill the black population.

Ultimately it provides a close up of the end of an era portraying a group of people that are afraid of being marginalised in the new free South Africa.

The Life Aquatic. Bill Murray is so great in it.

I think I might have to get Caddyshack tomorrow.

People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
