Its also unknown if OE can spare the staff it would take to develop an expansion pack while developing 2 full games at the same time(new jersey and the one who will likely go into preprod when NWN2 is done)

They seem to be expanding a lot for a company that hasnt done very much.

Whatever they do, I hope they wrap up the story in the NWN2 OC. I hate having to wait and spend money on expansion packs just to be able to have a proper ending to a game.

 

 

Its like going to the cinema and finding out youll have to buy the Special Edition DVD to be able to see the final 15minutes.

Someone stated a loooong time ago about Epic Levels would be done in expansions. So initially Obsidian were thinking that there would be expansions. Also with NWN getting 2 full expansions and now a premium module expansion I couldn

Well, you are one who is saying this. I remember someone from BIS saying that Jefferson was something like Sawyer's baby. I can imagine how frustrated he must have been when the project was cancelled. Implementing Jefferson's concept in a NWN2 expansion is the best way for Sawyer to fulfill his long forgotten dream.

I just want to play a game with Jefferson's story, characters and setting... I am not asking for that much... If I had the scenario, I would make a mod myself but that's another story... I am sure that If Obsidian decided to produce it, it would be far better.

Jefferson did have a very interesting setting and introduction. Story elements tend to be ageless anyway so it really wouldnt matter what engine you ran the story on.

People learn from their mistakes and successes, I'm sure Sawyer et al do implement the learned design philosophies, some of the themes and ideas that excelled to their latter projects.

That didn't work out to well with SOU. BIO ended up having to do most of the work for SOU themselves espicially in regards to the actual campaign.

yes, i believe it was called odyssey. rather heavily modified, IIRC. so does the witcher, but heavily modified again (graphics look a bit better, IMO).
