And then you have the Republicans who are imposing their 'Christian agenda' like trying to support official prayer in public schools. Republicans clearly say in their GOP Platform document 2002: The Republican Party reaffirms the USA is a Christian Nation... Then you have people like William Rehnquist, a conservative, Supreme court judge who goes saying: The 'wall of separation between church and state' is a metaphor based on bad history which has proved useless as a guide to judging. It should be frankly and explicitly abandoned. With all of this, it doesn't suprise me when Bush goes saying in speech: God told me to strike at Al Qaida and I struck them, and then He instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. I'd like it very much if the Republican Party got rid of all their crazies before I arrive. I never personally lived under a sane Republican reigime, but I still "miss" it in the sense that that is what I want, and I can't get it anywhere in the world anymore.
