Jeremy Soule is a king of game soundtracks. He is alter ego of John Williams who played similar role in film music. Mark Griskey is young and begining composer but has already shown a great talent. Especially in Gladius

Because so much of Jeremy's work is recycled for KOTOR2, they (LA or IMDb for instance) probably can't not include him in the credits, even if I don't think he actually worked on the game itself.

I think.

Yea, I voted Jeremy Soule but not so much for the work on k1 but his overall works... I suspect however, in time Griskey could put himself on very near an even keel.

Dawes ain't too bright. Hitting rock bottom is when you leave 2 tickets on the dash of your car, leave it unlocked hoping someone will steal them & when you come back, there are 4 tickets on your dashboard.

I loved Jeremy Soule's work in DoW. The music for kotor i/ii was unremarkable for the most part. I've played both games several time and I've never stopped to listen.

In my opinion, best work I've heard in a long time was Jeff van Dyck's work in Rome: total war.

I think Soule did one or two songs for KOTOR2 or maybe a few were reused or the info was wrong. I got it off of Moby Games.

Ya probably, just wait five years and we probably will be talking about him with the same respect we have for Jeremy Soule.

Henry Gregson-Williams.

Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition!

Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

I voted for Soule. I really liked the music in K1. In K2, I hardly remember anything from the soundtrack.

Soule also produced some great tracks for other games, such as NeverWinter Nights and (one of his best) ES3 Morrowind.

However, the last one he made (Guild Wars) is total crap. You can turn it off and you won't even notice.

Too bad Morrowind only had about 2 songs...

Soule. He did a great job with Icewind Dale and Kotor 1.

Can somebody please post a link, if there is one, for music samples from Jeremy Soule. Thanks in advance.

The first one you have to pay to listen (and has very few music tracks)

The other is dead for unknown time, the link to Jeremy's MP3 site is dead atleast. Ah well, 5 very short songs can be heard on the main page...

Directsong: you can download free Path of Sorrows - and Guild Wars special edition costs only 6 bucks and has 32 tracks. The website was opened in June so I guess we'll have to wait for more.

the next SW RPG needs to have plenty of John Williams's music like the first KOTOR had.

The only Williams music I heard was the Star Wars theme.

I remember there being a little bit of "Across the Stars" in the trailer for K1

People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

Indeed. One of the "special features" of Kotor1 was that it was the first Star Wars game in a long time that had new music made for it, instead of movie music stolen, or music from one of the other SW-games...

I turn off all but the fight music( and that's only loud enough to tell me I'm in a fight) when I can. Ambient sounds are more important to me.

Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (

it was a good musical score alright. I'm not suggesting there was alot of Williams music but it seemed like it was alot more than in K2. K2 could have used more, IMO.

I really liked Jeremy Soule's work in Guild Wars. It was amazing, well some of the tracks.

That being said I can't stand the music in K1. Not only is it synthesized, but it has a very welcome to the supermarket feel. I couldn't tell if I was trying to maintain peace on Manaan or cleaning up aisle 5.

Mark Griskey had some amazing tracks in Kotor2 and I think that a lot of his music set the tone for many levels. Didn't really like any of his battle music though. But levels like Peragus and Telos were really enthralling for me because of the music.

If I had to pick a composer I would pick Soule, but if I had to pick between Kotor1's soundtrack and Kotor2's I would pick Kotor2.
