Reveilled
EDIT: My most recent e-mail however, was a serious one, asking why go for video games when there is plenty of sex in the movies, as well as internet sites that provide porn movies for free, with no way to kid from downloading it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't go giving him ideas! (the lawyer) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know, I was making a "joke" about how this whole OMFG V1D30 G43MZ 4R3 73H 3V1L "controversy" is remenescent of the controversy over comics which was spearheaded by a man named Fredrick Wortham (darn him). As for the lawer and the Singles? I don't know. Here's an odd thing though: yesterday I was down at the mall, and I decided to stop in at my local GameStop (err Spot or whatever, either way they only have a few shelves for PC games so...). I noticed that GTA:SA was no longer on display (which left some very noticeable gaps in their PC selection) , but the Singles and the Guy Game were both VERY promenently displayed. Odd eh? I thought the supreme court decided digital images of kids where legal because no child was actaully hurt. If people need to get there kicks off kids I'd rather those kids be fake. I can't believe somebody worries about the sims being bad. I also find it sad that so many people hate the naked human body and turn it into something dirty. I just thought of the reason for going after a game like the sims. If he can win againest the sims he will have a cake walk with other games. alanschu
Wow, all I basically did was ask him why the millions of other owners of GTA haven't gone on murderous killing sprees, and pointed out that violent crime was on the decline according to the Department of Justice, and he sent me this: Allow me to make this very clear to all in the so-called "gaming community"who continue to email me for the purpose not of sharing information or engaging in civil conversation but for the sole purpose of harassing me, with garbage like the below email: In Florida we have a cyber-stalking law. There are federal statutes as well that prohibit what many of you are doing to me. Some of you have emailed me and threatened to kill me. How interesting that you claim that I have infringed on YOUR First Amendment rights. Your lack of courtesy and your utter lack of reflection prove my and others' points about the corrosive effects of the games. I am warning all of you whom I have not invited to communicate with me after an initial contact by you that I shall consider any further emails from you as violative of my rights and violative of the aforementioned criminal statutes. There is nothing more hypocritical than a bunch of gamer thugs who harass me and threaten me all in the name of "freedom of expression." I have a constitutional right to talk, at the Senator's request, to the staff of Senator Clinton. I did that. I have a right to point out that Electronic Arts is engaged in a knowing conspiracy with the "mod community" (what's next, "a pedophile community"?) to distribute porn to children. Any of you who don't think that is what EA is doing need to get a law degree and practice for 30 years, as I have. Then I'll be interested in your "opinions" about The Sims 2 scandal. If you videogaming thugs don't like what I do, then get off your rear ends and talk to the media, talk to your representatives, and write articles for your Internet game news sites. Don't flood my email inbox with your petulant tirades which are neither welcome nor productive. All they do is encourage me in my knowledge that normal people who have a right to stop predatory video game companies' practices are going to succeed in protecting children from those practices. Honestly, some of you email me and threaten me because you say "You want to ban all video games." That is reflective, by and large, of the perspicacity of the typical threatening emails I get. Such people don't want facts. They want an argument. They want to treat me as if I were some punching bag prostitute in GTA. I've had it with this. I am going to stop it. We won the "Hot Coffee mod" battle, and we shall win other battles. If any of you clowns are still dumb enough to threaten me and harass me after receiving this email, then contact your lawyers. You're going to need them. For the record, I have never threatened his life nor is First Amendment Rights.

alanschu
Hahahaha. I sent him a reply stating that I am trying to have a civil discussion about information that is inconsistent between his sources and my sources. I love how he said I should go out an talk to the media and whatnot, like it's easy for an average joe that's not on a crusade and doesn't make his living by his crusader to go out and spend all his time talking to the media. Ironically, his crusade has made me have more violent urges than any video game has ever done. Fortunately I have played these murder simulators which have taught me that stabbing someone will kill them. Otherwise I'd be at a complete loss as to what to do.
