Weiser_Cain
Aside from fighting games one of the only things I miss from my console days is Turn-based strategy game. Everything seems to be about RTS on ye olde PC but I'm sure there have been more games out there than Alpha Centauri. Got any favorites? Yaw devs, Yaw!!! ShadowPaladin V1.0
Yes but they are all console titles. I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327[/snapback]

Lancer
Good old school turn-based strategy games: Stronghold (PC game set in Mystara) Warsong (Genesis) You can find the above titles through careful searching of the web There are also a lot of good turn-based strategy RPGS on the Genesis if you are interested. SNES was sadly lacking in these. Lancer

Musopticon?
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is well worth the zots, with expansions that is. Silent Storm is more of an rpg, but the strategic element is there. Try Disciples 2 and Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic too. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Volourn
Warriors of the Eternal Sun is the best 'old skool' D&D game. Totally awesome. Totally sweet. Totally fun. It CRUSHES the Gb games. Leferd
The Total War series are turn based strategy games with a real time tactical engine. Does that count? Pidesco
The Total War series are turn based strategy games with a real time tactical engine. Does that count? I think it should. But I think the turn based part of the game doesn't stand very well by itself. What would be cool would be Civ with real time battles like in Total War. Gorth
Lords of Midnight, Doomdarks revenge, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 & Disciples 2 for sheer entertainment value. If you want more "serious" turn based strategy (i.e. simulation), I haven't found anything that beats Pacific War & War in Russia, both available as freeware downloads from the publishers homepage (Matrix games). “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. As good as Warriors of the Eternal Sun was, Order of the Griffon (a similarly styled game) was so much better still. Lancer
