Armageddon's-a-comin'!

I
would not go in someone's face and tell them that their way is wrong, nor create policy that which would effect them personally or limit their rights.

Actually you are doing it right now you are in everyones face about how evil, rude, and wrong religion is. How did you vote was it for a democrat that believes in the complete removal of all refernce to religion in schools. Seems to me my rights are limited if they say I can not pray in school.

No, what I said was, I'm tolerant of those with subpar intelligence. You're the one off on the whole education kick.

First by having been so general that is the only conclusion one could come to. Lets face it America believes the more education you get the smarter you are, if it didn't there would not be a huge push for college after highschool. By using my quote you put me forth as an example even if it was not ment to be, therefore I and people like me become those of sub-par intelligence. If schooling is not how you measure intelligence then how do you?

I argue against religious involvement in the government; I argue against faith-based initiatives and leading a country with more of an eye to the Bible than to, say, the Constitution or science or even common sense.

Then you are fightin a losing battle for the underlined portion of that statement because just as politics has a vested interest in the church, so to does the church have a vested interest in politics.

A lot of Christians are rational human beings. A lot aren't. Same could be said for atheists, but the thing about atheists is, by their very nature they don't have that one core focal point for their rabid, bat**** insanity.

Please tell me where I fit in ot all of that. Also atheists do have a core focal point and that is the church, well more like the things the church tries to influence. Who out of everyone wants the removal of all religion from all government the most? I have not said they are wrong for believing that just that most atheists can rally around the fact they don't believe in religion so it shouldn't be there.

There is no law saying a child cannot pray in school, No one has ever told a kid not to talk about religion in school. The problem is when the people in athority that the kids look up to tell them that thier political views are wrong. I dont want to stop chirtians from worshiping thier god, I just dont want them imposing thier belief system onto others.

Some times loosing battles are worth fighting if you believe in them, I believe there is a bible story supporting that somewhere. The government is not resticting the rights of christians by allowing gays to marry and such, no one says "Oh no the guy next door is gay Im getting a divorce!" I like to hold on to the belief that nearly all christians are sensible enough to work out problems with gay friends and such personally NOT politically. I dont care what you believe in, I just dont want you making me believe it too.

"Thank you. However, I should say, I basically have two types of posts - ones thata re strictly on topic, and thsoe where I tend to have tod efend myself from those who accuse me of some great Sin tm sicne we all know Im Evillly Stupid Incarnate or pointing out to people that posts like the one I quoted help no one..."

It's cool, and my post wasn't intended as an attack to be defended against. I just think it's funny... I'd say the same to any "spammer" out there, just that today I found this thread to be an interesting read.

EDIT: Note to self -- must type faster.

I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God.

So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me?

Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

That's cool, and you are cool. If anything, if someone gets accused of spamming by me they should be worried considering the number of posts I have. LOL

Not real sure why you quoted me but oh well. I relise it is when people in authoritative positions force some one to do something that is against their beliefs it is wrong, can you name me more than 10 incidents where this has happened in regards to religion though. All I want people to understand is there is always 2 sides to every position and because it is what we believe the only wrong is when 1 side tries to force the other to conform to what they believe is right. There are people here that believe their point of view is the only right one I have tried to show them their are very good arguements against some of the things they have brought up. Also as far as prayer in school if a football coach says a prayer before a game with his team; doesn't force anyone to pray just asks to say a prayer before hand; is it right or wrong?

Edit: As far as a losing battle goes that was no more than to let him know he better get used to opposition to his ideas because they are that of a minority group.(at least here in the US.)

On your point concerning two views, I agree. Poeple often look only on thier side, and refuse to look at other aguements. I try to look at both sides and I have chosen one, but only a foolish person refuses to ever change their ideas. On the coach thing, If a coach got in trouble for asking to pray some people in athority need to un-bundle thier under wear.

Eh, I don't think a single post commenting that I am unable to read a certain kind of post equals spamming. But hey, if it makes you feel better to be able to call me a name of some kind, be my guest. I still can't read the tiny blue-lettered posts, and thought I should mention it to the poster.

I have no problem being in the minority on this. I have a long tradition to look back on. Church: The world is flat! Dissenters: We doubt it. Church: Galileo is a heretic! Galileo: I think I'm a pretty good scientist. Church: The world is less than ten thousand years old! Science: Then what the hell were these dinosaurs walking around on? Church: Slavery is God's way of allowing us to bring light and religion to heathens. Slaves: We disagree. Church: I think we'll call it, 'The Inquisition.' Heretics: Cake or death? Cake.

Just a point, in case old Product of the Cosmos cares: Those using a black background cannot read your tiny blue letters.

Wierd. I can read them just fine with a black backround.. I'll try to make my text the same size to be courtious to those without 20/20 or better vision..

If you believe your words to be so precious they must be distinguished from the words of others by special size and color, you might as well use a size and color that others can actually read.

Or not. I don't mind just hitting "page down" every time I come to one of your posts if you don't mind it.

I like the color more. Does that disturb you that noone else does the same thing or something?? Why are you sending me anger for using a color on my text?

I didn't make them a different size on purpose. I don't know whats doing that. But no matter what colored text is made small on these forums for some reason...

If my preferences distinguish me from other people, then so be it. Because they are my preferences...

As for your assumptions about why I use them, lol... They show me that I don't have validity to really care that you scroll over my posts as you seem to have some sort of distorted perception on me based on a color of text I use. lol. If you stay consistant you would have just as ridiculous assumptions about my comments, in which I wouldn't care for anyway. If you would not stay consistant maybe you should work on being more polite, because you came off like an **** when saying such IMO.

I still can't read the tiny blue-lettered posts, and thought I should mention it to the poster.

You mentioned it in the first quote in this post, you started rambling on offensively after it. I would have been more positive to you if you stuck to sayin you couldn't read it...

And following up on my theory on page 7 or whatever it was.. More evidence taks :)

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/1106-30.htm

Evidence Mounts That The Vote Was Hacked

by Thom Hartmann

When I spoke with Jeff Fisher this morning (Saturday, November 06, 2004), the Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida's 16th District said he was waiting for the FBI to show up. Fisher has evidence, he says, not only that the Florida election was hacked, but of who hacked it and how. And not just this year, he said, but that these same people had previously hacked the Democratic primary race in 2002 so that Jeb Bush would not have to run against Janet Reno, who presented a real threat to Jeb, but instead against Bill McBride, who Jeb beat.

...

The State of Florida, for example, publishes a county-by-county record of votes cast and people registered to vote by party affiliation. Net denizen Kathy Dopp compiled the official state information into a table, available at http://ustogether.org/Florida_Election.htm, and noticed something startling.

While the heavily scrutinized touch-screen voting machines seemed to produce results in which the registered Democrat/Republican ratios largely matched the Kerry/Bush vote, in Florida's counties using results from optically scanned paper ballots - fed into a central tabulator PC and thus vulnerable to hacking

I wasn't angry, only irritated because the only way for me to read that text was to individually highlight each sentence, which was frankly too much trouble. Since somebody else had already mentioned once that she couldn't read your text either and you basically blew her off, I figured you actually didn't care what others thought.

You mentioned it in the first quote in this post, you started rambling on offensively after it.  I would have been more positive to you if you stuck to sayin you couldn't read it...

Perhaps you would have, but you had already been told that your posts were unreadable by some and didn't much seem to care. Sorry you were offended by my post. At least I didn't spend several sentences personally insulting you or calling you an a**. Anyway, thanks for changing your post so it is more easily readable. I appreciate it.

We have a group of people(whom I do not call terrorists) called terrorists by our own government wanting revenge on our crazy ruthless piece of **** hierarchy, by targeting our financial infrastructure(with us, the citizens as 'collateral damage') trying to bleed our nation as they did Russia quite successfully.

Huh? You mean the E-vile Amerikkan Empire had nothing to do with bleeding the Communist Utopia dry? The mujadeen destroyed our Red Soviet Comrades? uhoh3.gif

/sarcasm

In case you didn't notice, the Afganistan conflict was at it's most severe was a morale sap. Not to mention the fact that without US assistance the Soviets would have crushed the mujadeen utterly.

WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO HAVE A CURSE.

Glad to hear that so do you back the worldly leaders that have commited some of the worst atrosities known to man? WHile the church might have its bad people so do the governments ans scientists of the world. WHat was the name of the nazi scientist that did all those experiments on the Jews during WW 2? Man if only I wasn't so lazy.

Agreed both sides need to back down a bit. Also yes that exact situation arose around the general area where I live and he got in big time trouble for it. Wish I had the specifics but alas it happened a few years back.

My point is, the church has been behind the evolution of human knowledge and social attitudes by at least fifty years ever since the Dark Ages. Christianity picks and chooses what it wishes from the Bible, and the rest is just so much filler. I refer to the passages about how often you may beat your wife and when you can and cannot have your son stoned at the city gates. It's a vastly outdated work which has been misinterpreted and mistranslated so many times over that any sort of theology gotten from it is purely the invention of the getter.

If that's what you want to rule your life, go for it. Me, I'll stay on the bleeding edge - where I won't be beating my wife or stoning my son.

You know what? Bottom line. If I have to be tolerant of your religious views, you have to be tolerant of me sleeping with another man, or having premarital sex with my girlfriend in a position other than missionary, or, for that matter, watching porn or going to a strip club - even on a Sunday.

When did I ever say I wasn't hell I've actually done all those things including working on the sabath and drinking alcohol.  Like I said those same extremists would lump me into the same catagory as you even though I believe.

No what rules my life is my own moral compass because I know just as man misuses the church he also misuses government, and science.

Heh go ahead as a matter of fact why not have sex with a man and your girlfriend in a strip club while reading verses from the satanic bible. It really doesn't bother me if thats what you want. Hell I have done all of those things, except for the gay sex. As I said those extremists would lump me into the same category as you.

OK, KILL THIS TOPIC PLEASE.

Initially, this was just a snarky & sarcastic remark about my unhappiness with the political climate in my country. I couldn't give a rat's crap if you disagree with me, and if one thing wasn't painfully clear before I started this mess it is definitely clear now:

There are two VERY disparate sides to this coin, two VERY different cultural points of view and there is NO WAY that continued bickering will change anyone's minds, and I'm completely sorry I ever mentioned it.

And I'm moving to Canada, where, with the exception of one freak, they are much more sensible. [Just kidding, for Volourn's sake. :- May we never end up at the same dinner table]

Now, back to [NWNII, KOTORII, or whatever game interests you on this forum please :- ...]
