Hurlshort Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) Huh. I know there is a whole Predator mythos built through the comics, but the movies have always kept it as more of a tease. Hopefully it doesn't ruin the magic of the Predator as a big baddie. Edited April 23 by Hurlshort

Bartimaeus Posted April 25 Posted April 25 @PK htiw klaw eriF Have you ever watched 964 Pinocchio? I just came across it a few minutes ago, saw the poster, read the premise, and immediately thought of you. Quote Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

"it wasn't a terrible film." we liked dolls cast and a few o' the performances. liked some/most o' the dialogue, although am admitting we can't help but measure coen films to a miller's crossing standard, which ain't fair. we even liked the look o' the film, which is important for visual media. drive-away dolls story was meh. pacing were meh... which we found odd as tricia cooke's editing on previous coen films were typical a strength. as much as we liked some performances, others were noticeably meh. etc. too much meh. we wanna like this, but... I don't see it. They've always been campy B-movie fare. Not that there is anything wrong with it.

LadyCrimson Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Loved the first one, so I will definitely be watching Nobody 2. When it's available to watch by pressing a button on my remote. But I will definitely watch it. 1 “Things are as they are. Bartimaeus Posted May 21 Posted May 21 (edited) Cabaret (1972). I liked it a lot! I was not surprised to read that the starring actress (Liza Minnelli) had been advised to play the lead role and subsequently researched and modeled her mannerisms after Louise Brooks. It's the kind of performance I wish Louise Brooks had been afforded the opportunity to play in a talkie. The musical numbers were really something else. Bartimaeus Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Support the Girls (2018). I don't really understand the poster calling it a comedy, it's not very funny and really doesn't seem to trying to be. It was essentially "day from hell in the life of a Hooters manager", but without getting overly exaggerated or involved with any larger than life plot. I enjoyed it, but it was very stressful.
