Its always good to see Western allies working together when they face a common enemy like Putins  hegemony and militancy 

Considering the current number of US military bases in Germany I am not sure why it would need to be secretive ?

I presume, that the main culprit of these numbers would be “no retreat” order for the RuAF in the city of Lyman. I do not believe the Russia would had time to push any mobiks into this specific cauldron yet. On the other hand, the first PoWs from the pools of mobiks have been already taken around Kupyansk area. And a lot of Crimean Tatars are in Kherson cauldron. But there are no other information about them circulating around, yet.

It is interesting that even though we now have a corps headquarters (V Corps) forward element based in Poland, the Army has chosen to set up a second forward element for XVIII Airborne Corps in Germany for coordinating Ukraine military assistance. So maybe V Corps is exclusively for planning warfighting against a possible Sovi... erm, Russian attack?

He is yet another example of how excess attention and wealth tend to exacerbate human frailties: once you get to the point where you can indulge in all your puerile fantasies, your character is likely to suffer(*). There is a parallel to this in war, by the way: once you have helpless people utterly in your power, you get to indulge in all that is most despicable in you as a human being -- and thus we see an awful lot of needless cruelty.

 

(*) David Gilmour once pointed out that it takes an extraordinarily strong psyche to not get derailed by rock star level attention. I've done long interviews with several of them, and the experience has been quite interesting.

The beginnings of Tesla, the solar roof tile stuff, SpaceX, etc. He had lots of crazy ideas that would have been really cool if worked out. However, half that stuff never went into production or had other issues or he just silently dropped it, and so on and so on.

He did a big push in the electric vehicle market. Also, with SpaceX he kind of started a new space race, which felt great and super cool.

/edit: Also he had that underdog thing going for him, like if you remember the story about how he wanted to buy rockets from russia, but they laughed at him, so he decided to build his own rockets instead.. and succeeded so much with it that now america doesn't send people and cargo to spay anymore on russian rockets.

I agree that SpaceX, as an idea, was fascinating and admirable. The applications and attempts I've read about have looked somewhat different. Anyway, thanks, I see where you're coming from.

By the way, I don't blame him for most of his ideas not working out. There's no shame in failing if you at least try. Some things just don't work, it's normal. What really killed him for me is the stupid stuff he keeps saying nowadays.

It's also funny how he actively sabotages his Tesla influence with being so anti-liberal, considering most of his potential buyers are very likely liberal folk. None of those patriot coal-burners will ever set foot into a tesla car, yet here we are. What a dumbass.

Do you guys know Musk clarified his comments, I read his 4 suggestions which  are 

"The four points included redoing elections of annexed regions under UN supervision, and Crimea’s status as a part of Russia, and assuring water supply to the peninsula. Musk also mentioned that Ukraine remains neutral as one of his points"

Personally I take the emotion out of my views on what Musk suggested and ask myself " is it practical and reasonable as a way to end the war ". Obviously the Ukrainians will ultimately decide this but some of what he mentions makes sense around compromise that include 

• Doing proper referendums managed by the UN in Crimea and the eastern regions. Lets see what the people in these regions really want 
• Ukraine agrees not to join NATO but it can join the EU if it meets the criteria 

Russia needs to 

• Accept the outcomes of the new referendums
• Acknowledge Ukraine is a sovereign country and it has every right to align with the West
• Russia agrees to  a peace treaty and obviously its army needs to leave Ukraine

Unfortunatelly it will never work. Unless there would be a complete change at he high leadership. Putin has shown, that he is interested only in his “Russian World” doctrine, and he is willing to sacrifices everyone to achieve this non-sense… Even if UN would supervise last month referendums, he would bribe the **** out of them, to achieve his goals. All he would need to do, is to make sure, that there would be more observers from countries more favourable to Russia, than the West… Russia needs to be kicked out of Ukraine by force. And I say that fully knowing, that the city where I live is probably among the candidates for possible Nuclear Strike as we have NATO Airport with Patriot defense system less than 7 km away from the city centre…
