Predictably energy prices protests are starting in Europe with the Czech one being surprisingly big.
I guess local politics also played a part.
I doubt Czechs have any extra Russian sympathy not found in Hungary.

it was around 100K people, for record protests against our last prime minister had 250K and against covid lockdowns around 150K but yeah people here are pissed, but not because lack of energy but because we are selling it high to germany to cover their gas power plants, we are 100% self sufficient but we are selling it on Leipzig energy stock exchange

A look at the protest by a average Czech.

It is bliss of the capitalism.

Finland doesn't directly sell to Germany, but Sweden and Norway do. so our energy prices are piking thanks to Nord pool spot market trading. And things aren't made easier that our biggest energy company Fortum owns over 70% of Uniper, Germany's biggest gas importer, which has lots of long standing gas contracts without any clause that would give it ability to break those contracts when it doesn't anymore get cheap gas from Russia.

Vysokopillia in Norther Kherson Oblast has been liberated. Russian VDV troops which were stationed there did not get artillery support, which they requested for few hours, so they decided to retreat (from RU sources). It is rumoured, the artillery men were drunken, lol…

EDIT: it has been officially confirmed by UA side as well.

Which is fine, they don't owe Ukraine a thing, so not like some betrayal or anything despite whatever Melnyk used to spew about.

Here's something impossible to satirize: Russian TV presenter arguing that Soviet concentration camps were better than German ones. The other stuff is fairly rich, too. Presented with a straight face, it's quite a sight to behold.

Ukraine starts adding women to the mandatory reserve forces and bans them from traveling starting October 1st. I wonder what that means for women who already left the country, will the west start sending them back like they did with the men?

By the droves. You don't actually think that everyone volunteered to fight. Many tried to escape the country but were turned away on the border, or if they manged to cross they were sent back when caught.

I don't think they were sand back once they crossed border. We have plenty of UK man around here. They were send back on border tho by Ukraine border patrols)

Well, I only know that men couldn't leave. I haven't heard reports of men being send back from outside Ukraine.

As far as I know only men with a certain number of children under a certain age were allowed to leave with their families. The rest were sent back, unless they had money I would guess.

Hmm. I'm not sure who's in the right here, but I'd definitely want to see some proper documentation. Along with @Chilloutman and @Lexx, I also haven't seen anything about men being sent back. Do you have any reliable links about them being sent back? You said "by the droves", which should mean that it's a pretty substantial phenomenon, but I haven't seen anything about it.

@Sarex As far as I know, UA men from SK were not forced to go back, but a lot of them went back voluntarily. It is also true, that at some point, the men were forbidden to leave the country. We have a 17 years old kid at home from Kyiv, and his father even though he is at home, he was not yet called to armed service. So I think, there are still a lot of volunteers available with good enough training to get the priority.

He means at the border.
Ukraine can't force anyone to come back once they left the country.

Funnily enough at one point they considered criminalizing not-returning when subject to conscription.
But I don't think that law was ever passed.

Waiting for confirmation from elsewhere (a party not directly involved in the war), but looks like excellent news.

Of course, it might still be psyop by UA, but the fact, that the Russia has lost Vysokopyllia, suggests that they might really started to have  issues with supplying their troops. Vysokopyllia means “High Fields”. The town is build on elevation, and the Russian stronghold there was one of the strongest in Kherson Oblast. It would be almost impossible to siege under “normal” circumstances.

Peskov has suggested that Russia won't reopen Nord Stream 1 after the "maintenance" is over, which strongly implies that the counter-attack in the Kherson area has been successful enough to strongly affect Russian supply lines. Russia is aiming at further slowing down German help to Ukraine, which may well turn out to be a counterproductive move, as Germany will essentially go, "Right. You're stopping the gas, so we're sending all we can to Ukraine." Of course this is not the only way it can turn out.
