Keyrock
When I got to the Tokyo Diet Building I found a demon a bit off the beaten path offering to mark all remaining Miman on my map for 2500 macca. Given that I had roughly 50k at the time, I gladly took him up on his offer. I decided to go through the entire map and get the few Miman I had missed exploring on my own. I hadn't missed any in the very early portion of the map, but I decided to start at the very first layline fount and go through the entire map since Amanozako will find new stuff even in areas previously visited. Every time she waves her arms and yells "Hey hey hey," I'm hoping that when I talk to her she says "Oh crap," rather than "See, you found something nice." Oh crap means a battle with a very high chance of Mitama. I'm hoping for a blue Mitama, since they're the ones that drop glory crystals. Anyway, I get to the part where Aogami initially warned me to steer clear of the giant rock golem. I had gained at least 10 levels since then and there's a layline fount very close so I got curious, saved my game, and decided to find out what rocky is all about. Turns out he's level 48. I'm level 21 so... Yeah. Amentep
I got wiped trying to see who was in the Diet. Didn't have enough money for the one Demon to mark Minmans. I think I'm going to spend some time grinding. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? melkathi
I tried to finally play Blackguards but really didn't enjoy the combat. Going to try to finish Fell Seal. I need to power up my troops a bit to progress the story. That is the annoying part about these kind of games, the need to farm xp. LadyCrimson
Considered buying Guardians of the Galaxy but then I thought about how many games I've bought recently where I hardly play them. ...think I'll go back to my lvl-30 party playthru of FFXV, making Ignis run everywhere in his speedo, instead. I could use the laughs. Plus I don't have to learn any new game rules. ...he could use to gain a little weight tho. Just a little. “Things are as they are. Ridiculous/silly but fun costumes are one reason I don't clamor for true photo-realism in games. My low-level FFXV game is almost ready to move onto Chapt 2. At this point I always start by staying in Chapt 1 (so there is no enemy dropship factor to contend with) and train up the bro's Technique skills. Gotta have Overwhelm and especially Sagefire maxed out and if you do it "naturally" it takes forever and ever. MsCrimson don't play that way ... at least with a game she's already played half a dozen times and just wants to romp through again. Also, spam fishing and camping to get those bro skills up to unlock stuff. Using that mod to increase enemy levels and their damage a bit. I love that mod. “Things are as they are. Bartimaeus
Cadence of Hyrule. It's Crypt of the NecroDancer, which I like, combined with A Link to the Past, which I dislike. However, it's a case of taking the things I like about both games and combining them to make something I enjoy a lot more than A Link to the Past but which isn't nearly as brutally difficult as Crypt of the NecroDancer (the latter of which I last played when I was fruitlessly trying to win a game using the character where if you miss a beat, you immediately die; I gave that about 300 tries before I realized I was realistically simply not good enough and probably never would be). It's about a 6-8 long game and I finished it in a couple of days, which is rare for me. Edited November 22, 2021 by Bartimaeus Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance. Keyrock
I expected going the physical build route in SMT V that I would be sucking until around level 40 or so, since that's when the good physical skills start appearing, in my experiences. Turns out, my boy Beefstik has become strong much earlier than that (currently lev 27). I got Sakanagi from an Aogami essence. Sakanagi is a single target medium power almighty physical attack. The nice thing about almighty damage is that essentially nobody resists, nulls, nor drains it. On the flip side, nobody is weak against it either, thus you can't generate extra turns by hitting a weakness with almighty. However, since this is a physical skill, rather than a magical one, not only does it use strength as a modifier to damage (as opposed to magic) but it can also critical like a normal physical attack, and thus generate an extra turn that way. Magic skills cannot critical outside of Omagatoki: Critical AFAIK. Also, I picked up the Almighty Mastery 1 miracle, so it's now Sakanagi +1. Anyway, what all that means is that Sakanagi +1 cannot be resisted by anyone and because of my physical build I do a good bit of damage with it. LadyCrimson
...when you suddenly realize that the "complete DLC" reward items you're supposed to have, have never actually appeared in your main save file like they're supposed to, meaning you have to load save/replay the loathed "kill boss while riding the back of a snowmobile, before you reach the end of the snowmobile ride" (basically a different kind of timer) end-boss fight of that DLC again and hope they'll appear then. ...and I know I finished it because the two bonus "arena-like combat mode" thingies are unlocked/available. And have Ansel screens of the cutscene after. But I didn't get the "you won story part" score/certificate apparently, not sure why. *scratches head* ...god I hate that boss fight. Better work this time. Edited November 23, 2021 by LadyCrimson “Things are as they are. The Genbu shows up after you start the Gold Dragon's Arrival side quest by talking to Huang Long aka Kohryu at the top of the mountain. Genbu aka Xuanwu is one of the 4 gods you are asked to defeat and the only one you can at this point. I'm assuming I'm further along than you are since it sounds like you are still in the first area of Da'at, Minato, while I'm a decent chunk of the way through Shinagawa. I recently took a trip back to Minato at lev 30 (I'm now lev 31) with the express purpose of finding out if I'm strong enough to face any of the other 3 gods. Turns out, nope, not even close. As an aside, I left a couple of the petrified demons whose power you can absorb in Minato, plus the one I've found so far in Shinagawa, unused. I think those don't give a set amount of exp but rather raise every demon in your stock up 1 level, which will be super nice with level 70 or whatever demons. Similarly, I haven't touched the 1 gospel (instant level up for Nahobino) I've found so far, saving that for level 70+ when leveling takes a quadrillion XP. Edit: As an aside, if you haven't already then get the Knowledge of Tools miracle ASAP. Thank me later. Amentep
AHHHH, that would explain it, I did talk with Huang Long (I'd actually talked to him before, but wiped right after that and just realized last night that I'd never went back and talked to him). I haven't left the first area - I didn't play any Sunday or Monday and you were already ahead of me then. I'll check and see if I have that miracle yet or not, if not I'll keep an eye out for it.
