I don’t know how, but looks like my little daughter deleted my saved game.

Gladly I was really early yet, and now I will try something different. Tested all classes, except one: the Ranger.

So this time I will go with a Ranger, but I don’t see much info about Ranger, and I don’t know how fun they are. I always played as melee, but I want to change my perspective.

And what would be more fun, a SC Ranger, Ranger/Barb or Ranger/Cipher Ascendant?

Then what Haplok said. That is the most synergistic. SC Ranger wouldn't be bad either with a party.

With the Community Patch I'm testing a Solo Arcane Archer/Streetfighter with Hand Mortar-Blinding Smoke, which seems to have some potential.

Sharpshoter/Troubadour with Red Hand and Gunner, Sure Handed Ila, Sharpshooter's Garb, Acina's Tricorn, Aefyllath Mith Fyr is fun.

If you want to have a pet then ascendant/arcane archer with Frostseeker is both strong and versatile. If you want more of a dps build without a pet then helwalker/ghost heart is one of the best ranged dps builds (both single and AoE) with great interrupting and stunning potential. Ring of Clenched Muscle makes also a great combo with Frostseeker because all the hits can apply multiple debuffs in an AoE very fast. And of course the most fun is when you're using scrolls of Avenging Storm...

If you prefer ranged options these are all great suggestions. However, if, like me, you prefer melee for your MC, you might consider a stalker/soul blade, with the bear companion for extra AR and survivability for both you and the pet. With this combo you'll have sky high accuracy, and get set foes up for major damage with the Takedown combo and disintegration. Seeker's Fang is also an amazing weapon for a melee cipher, that inflicts a raw damage DoT every time you crit, which will be often given your sky high accuracy. With the Griffin's Blade in your offhand you'll also daze nearby enemies when you crit, which will lower their PEN and make it very difficult for them to damage you or your bear pet.

I really liked this idea. Did you used this? How should I spend  the atributes? I will give a try today, a melee Ranger looks fun

I played a solo PotD Geomancer (Stalker/Bloodmage) which was pretty fun. I used the trinity of Geomancer, Bear & Essential Phantom.
But it was micro-intense. In my case that was no problem of course... since it was solo. Example: I soloed Neriscyrlas without any resting bonuses and bonuses from consumables (not even food) and destroyed her quickly. Or I should say my Phantom did... ;)

I didn't try Megabosses though.

The most important attributes for a melee seer are DEX, PER and INT. I'd keep CON and RES flat (around 10), and STR slighly higher. You don't want CON and RES too low as you will be combat and you want to be able to take some hits, and not get crits too often due to low deflection via dumped RES.
