How cool is it that I'm using Vailian words to name my ships and the game recognizes it?

 

That's awesome haha.

 

Indirectly, I've seen the game act kind of silly because it seems to auto-recognize keywords/phrases.  E.g. an ability grants "Barring Death's Door," and only death is highlighted, explaining the mechanic of companions and the player dying in the game.

I keep running into references to the Vailian Republics which are instead linked to Old Vailia because of that auto-recognition script. Vailia will rise again, I tell you!

The hell, I had a ship named Gellarde for a whole playthrough and never noticed this.

Yes, I've seen those things too, keywords and Vailian/Old Vailia confusion.

Galohi is Huana for "idiot".

I do wish the game would automatically append "the" when referencing my ship's name, though. No one says "we're sailing off on Gellarde" – it's a ship, not a pet...

I think it might be slightly buggy just like anytime you find "will" in some descriptions with a capital W, it pops up the hint on Will defence.

 

And I just name all my sheps "Roach".

When I was a sailor, I learned that you're only supposed to call a ship "The So-and-So" when "The" is actually part of its name. Otherwise, it is indeed just "So-and-So." For what it's worth.

I'm considering Auret Vidorio (Golden Victory) and Galohi Nui for the other boats.

 

And maybe naming a future fire Godlike watcher "Fiace" (Flames) on a later playthrough.

I like the idea of naming your own character via the other in-game languages!  Especially if the character has a name that matches the culture.  E.g. a Valian word for a Valian character.

to name a few of my ships... i guess my favorites would be "the Specter of Caed Nua", followed by "the Dread Harlequin", then "Iovara's Defiance", and finally "the Fortuitous Fulcrum"

Whispers of Yenwood is no more, it was forged into a larger sword.

I named my Galleon Abydon's Hammer, as I'm still a bit salty I didn't get it back.

My favorite ship name so far is The Pyre of the Gods. I think I'm going to stick with that one.

When I finally got the ghost ship I named it The Black Tear in honor of that guy who swallowed the pearl but it never seems to show up, pretty pouty about that tbh.

My first watcher was sailing the Lady Framboise.

Not yet but I named my chants Songy McSongface and Songy McSongface jr.

So, based on the first conversation with Pallegina (when you are not nice to her , see link bellow), "men" = "of"? I wonder how I would say "Vengeance from the Flames". "Vengiatta men Fiaces"? It is probably different when it is "of the".

Edit: Her order is "Frermàs mes Canc Suolias" (Brotherhood of the Five Suns) so "mes" = "of the"?

 

"Vengiatta mes Fiaces" seems better. I'll use it for another PT, with a Fire Godlike.
