  1. Thinking about this now, and I don't have time to test it as I am literally running out the door after I hit "Post", I think it might trigger when one enters the World Map for the first time on a save where the trigger (whatever it is) has already been set. My first test was with a save where the party was ALREADY on the World Map. I got the invite when I left the Deck of Many Things and hit the World Map again. My second test was when I left Queen's Bearth and entered the World Map. Got it immediately again. So for folks who are already past Port Maje I would see if going to the World Map gets the invite.
  2. As I just said in the Beast of Winter DLC thread, I was able to get the invite when I loaded up a Level 6 character extremely early in Act One. They had just started to explore Neketaka and had done a handful of post-Port Maje quests. Got it immediately when I transitioned to the World Map. Exactly how early one can get it is yet to be seen.
  3. Quick update. Pulled up a Level 6 character that was very early in Act 1. They had just started exploring Neketaka and hardly done any quests. Got The Honored Guest invite immediately on map change to the World Map. So it is in fact possible to get the invite VERY early. How early is a matter to be seen.
  4. I randomly got the invite to see Vanti (my nickname for ol Handsome ) after I left The Deck of Many Things. Was probably just a random timer counter though as I was a supremely high level character near the end of Act 2. I haven't attempted to trigger it early or in other circumstances. Won't be able to do further testing on this until later today though, as I got some errands to run and a mod update to push out first.
  5. Doesn't appear to. But then again, I believe this ship is available right away, so it doesn't surprise me that there might not be supremely over the top things available. What I'm more interested in is the Vendor Discounts in laxd_factions.gamedatabundle. They're pointing to 'faction' approval which don't appear anywhere else in the game. Not even in laxd_factions.gamedatabundle itself. Which is... interesting. Makes me wonder if something is planned for the future or there is more to this Deck of Many Things ship than first appears. edit: This is an example of what I am talking about. I'll put the code itself behind a spoiler box so to not take up huge amounts of screen space: For those not familiar, that example is saying if the Watcher has a 1, 2, or 3 rating with the factions given there, then they'll get various discounts in the shops on the Deck of Many Things (all the vendors seem to have this FWIW). What piques my curiousity is that I can find no reference to: "40f1bd97-af2f-4ab6-8e60-cf6c58beb788" "dd32ce84-fa5a-4e25-9cf5-48bc102e937a" "c362738a-85c7-4525-a74a-3dc144655234" anywhere else in the game, including the new Beast of Winter DLC. The only place they show up is in the place where Vendor Rates are set. But the actual faction(s)* they represent is a mystery at the moment. At least I can't figure it out. * Faction is something of a loose term here, as even the Slavers and the Dawnstars and other minor groups can be considered 'factions' in the game. I doubt it's an oversight. I also doubt it's in there for bleeps and giggles. So why IS it in there? Be interesting to find out, if we ever do.
  6. There has been an extremely minor change in how one of the GameDataObjects that this mod uses operates that shouldn't impact how the mod works (at least it didn't in my limited testing before I changed it on my home system), but just to be on the safe side I'll release an update to this mod sometime today. Probably within a couple of hours. The game will currently flag the old version as an incompatible mod, but that's just because of the outdated manifest.json. Would have released it earlier, but I wanted to make sure there weren't last minute changes between the beta branch and the official release.
  7. Poor Eder though. He's starting to reach "O'Brien Must Suffer"* levels of angst when it comes to dealing with things. First all the crapola he went through to find out what his brother was up to, before coming up empty. Then all of the trauma he went through to find his ex-lover and then dealing with the not-actually-his-son-after-all but still-feels-responsible-for-him situation. And in the middle of all of THAT he gets to deal with St. Waidwen (or at least he will on my first playthrough ). At this rate he's gonna give poor ol' Miles O'Brien a run for a his money by the time the Pillars franchise is over. * Google the term if one isn't familiar with this piece of Deep Space Nine lore.
  8. The other three descriptions have now been edited in. They're all DLC related, as I thought. This Time with Feeling Defeat Neriscyrlas. 0.00% Null and Void Escape the White Void. 0.00% Following Certain Death Enter the Beyond. 0.00%
  9. For the base game, it was each of the encounters with Eothas after the one in Port Maje. In other words, completing the first three two acts and then a cheevo for winning the game. No idea how that'd translate to this DLC. edited. Also dealing with the two Dragon encounters was a hidden achievement, I believe. Don't know why I thought a cheevo was given for finishing Act Three. I guess most people got that for finishing a faction quest line.
  10. Five new cheevos were enabled sometime today. At least two of them are DLC related and more than a wee little bit spoily in regards to one of them: Well that was Easy... Defeat the Messenger. Traveler of the Void Decide the fate of Inquisitor Naxiva, St. Waidwen, and King Wingauro o Watūri I. Here are the three "hidden" ones, thanks to the Global Gameplay Stats over at Steam : 0% This Time with Feeling Defeat Neriscyrlas. 0% Null and Void Escape the White Void. 0% Following Certain Death Enter the Beyond. They're not in the achivements.stringtable yet, so I don't know what those last three do. I'll edit this post/update the thread when I do know. Edited in the descriptions from another source. So, yes, all DLC related. === "Decide the fate of St. Waidwen".
  11. Yeah, I used the term sublimation for a reason. It's not exactly a healthy way for Pallengina to deal with that facet of her self-loathing, but it beats a fair few of the alternatives. And, yes, the childless motherly woman trope can be a bit overplayed. Thankfully I think the needle is fairly well threaded when it come to Pallengina, especially since one can never be quite sure if she is just a Patriot or a Blind Zealot unless one really gets to know her. I was also thinking of another comment she made about where she wants the Republics to be in a few generations. I don't think I'll be able to find it immediately to quote it exactly, but it sure sounded similar to how someone would talk about how they want their children and grand children to be great and how someone would take personal pride in shaping them into being good people. So if she can steer the Republics into being the best they can be, she would take great personal satisfaction in being a part of that process, even if history had all but forgotten her name. But I admit I might be stretching the point here a bit.
  12. I truncated just because my own post should be short, but that was really really well put. I don't entirely agree about the children angle, but everything else I think is pretty spot on. Have you seen the banter between Eder and Pallengina when it comes to children? That was that I was thinking of. It goes like this: Eder: "Hey Pallegina, I know your kind, you can't have children. But... would you have wanted them?" Palengina: "Ac. It is because I cannot give my country children that I give them so much of the life I have." That banter really stayed with me when I saw it. Maybe seeing the Republics as her children is a bit overstated. On the other hand, it DOES explain an fair amount, I think.
  13. She wants to change the contract because, IIRC, she think the Vailians are being short sighted when it comes to the Dyrwood and wants a win-win situation. That and she honestly thinks that the Vailians can be a force for good for Eora, and so she tries to curtail their more mercantile double dealing tendencies. As for the Dyrwood situation there are three outcomes for Pallengina: Outcome One: Don't change the contract and she is toasted and celebrated in the Republics no matter what else happens. Outcome Two: Change the contract and the Dyrwood is strengthened, she will be exiled but in the fullness of time she'll be brought back as the Vailians will see that she was right after all. Outcome Three: Change the contract and anything else happens, she will be exiled and not be back in the good graces of the Republics. It's basically: You did what we wanted; we love you. You didn't do what we wanted but turned out to be right; we respect you. You didn't do what we wanted and turned out to be wrong; we don't like you at all. Haven't really played much at all with Option Three when it comes to Pallengina, but I don't think it changes her attitude to the Republics all that much. From looking at various dialogues in the data files it appears that if anything she's more upset with the Watcher than anything else. Call it transference if one must (she's angry that the situation she wanted didn't turn out like she expected so she takes it out on the person who helped convince her to take the path she wanted). === IMO, a big reason why she is so pro-Republic is that the Republics are very pro-Animancy. Deadfire will show just why Pally is so enamored with Animancy as an art. To the point where, again IMO, she has a much bigger blind spot in regards to Animancy and its failings than the Republics. And again, this makes sense. She knows all to well what the Republics are capable of. But since Animancy to quote her own words "made her life worth living" it's a much harder thing to get her to see that maaaaaaaaaybe there are a few nutjobs in the field of Animancy.
  14. Might also have to quit and restart Steam as I've seen Steam can be a bit persnickety when it comes to DLC that was pre-bought. I'll see it in my purchased list but not actually installed until I quit Steam and restart it. I know Obsidian is aware of the issue, but I've still seen hiccups in regards to it.
  15. This modder is perfectly content on waiting. (Also this modder just presumed it would be approx 10am on the 2nd Pacific Time, as that's when Obsidian usually releases stuff)
  16. I've had them drop from the Greater Sand Blights in the outside area, in version 1.2.2. Could be random chance but I had one from each blight, as well as two from the guardian giant. It's random when it comes to Greater Sand Blights. When a Greater Sand Blight dies it will randomly select from four potential LootLists exactly once. Those LootLists can give a variety of items. When it comes to Adra Ban: Two of the LootLists will give an Adra Ban 100% of the time Two of the LootLists will give an Adra Ban 20% of the time So 50% of the time, there is 100% chance to get one Adra Ban and 50% of the time there is a 20% chance to get one. Doing the math, I believe this means there is a 60% to get an Adra Ban when a Greater Sand Blight dies ([100 + 100 + 20 + 20]/400).
  17. Pallengina's reasoning become a lot clearer during her personal quest regarding Giacolo. The Watcher can also try to probe her seeing just how far she would take her pro-Vailian Republic stances and see how her personal desires versus her homeland's actions really shake out. There's also a few hints of this if she is around during either the slaver questine or the Poko Kohara questline. IMO, it's too simplistic to say Pallengina is "My Country, Right or Wrong". Instead she is of the opinion that she wants to build something that not only is greater than herself, but is worthy of being great. Something that can be truly great in the fullness of time. She's not blind to the fact that her country is capable of some tremendously ****ty things. But she also thinks that she and folks of similar mindset can make the Vailian Republics something worthy of being supported, if they are good enough examples. As to why, this is a person who has/had tremendous self-loathing issues. So many that her issues have issues. But beyond that she's also sublimated her inability to have children into a desire to see that the entirety of the Republics will be her children. So she has a tremendous parental/motherly instinct toward the Republics as a whole. Her children might disappoint her. Greatly even. But it's damned hard for her to ever not love her children and not to try to mold them into the best possible children they can be. On the flip side, this doesn't mean her choices in PoE I don't have further consequences in Deadfire. I haven't seen it personally, but if she was temporarily exiled in PoE I's ending, I understand she is a little bit more skeptical of the Watcher taking a rebel-against-the-Republics stance as she's already been burned a bit once by this, even if things turned out okay in the end. So it's not that she's a zealot. It's that she truly thinks the Republics can be a Force For Good, even if they have to be pushed in the right direction. And, to be fair, she has pretty solid reasons for thinking that when her personal history is looked at.
  18. Probably have a much better idea in about 17 hours or so. Since you get invited, there might be an actual trigger to unlock DLC Island #1 or you might be able to sail there uninvited. As far as I know nearly every single area in the base game is available to be explored once one gets off of Maje Island except for the endgame, including Out of Order places like visiting Ashen Maw BEFORE visiting Hasongo. The only exception I can think of offhand is the second level of Pāhowane, which can only be accessed via the Skipping Ahead quest. Be kinda interesting to take Vatni along on the A Glimpse Beyond quest, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if finishing that was one of the possible triggers for getting the invite.
  19. I believe the bolded bit is intentional, as the Street Sweeper is something close to an Easter Egg which has to be looked for. edit Here is how it looks currently: Not so much a shadow but a brown object lying on a slightly different shade of brown surface. Can be nearly impossible to see when it's cloud's shadow passes over it.. But that's why it's an Easter Egg. Ironically it might be slightly easier to see at nighttime as it stands out a bit more in my subjective opinion: Does kinda look shadowish there, I agree. But, again as far as I know, this is intentional.
  20. Mother of Pearl can be found at: The Treasure Trove in the Radiant Court in Dunnage. Ernezzo's Supplies in Delver's Row Una's Luxuries in Serpent's Crown. Just verified all three. You might have gotten unlucky when it comes to Una. If an item isn't in a store, wait 26 hours and try again and see if it pops up or not. If they sell it, of course.
  21. You need to look up the exact name of the item in question that the game files use and then use GiveItem Whatever. They can be found in items.gamedatabundle. For The Red hand it'd be: GiveItem Arquebus_U_The_Red_Hand You could also use the UUID of the item: GiveItem 783ec95c-81bc-4dfa-a665-1a39ff3dd685 But that's a pain to try to do. NOTE: Many/most of the Unique Names for items are also over on the Wiki. The Red Hand, again as an example:
  22. It's a bit counter-intuitive, but for the first example you provided, it's in attacks.gamedatabundle: { "$type": "Game.GameData.AttackSummonRandomGameData, Assembly-CSharp", "DebugName": "But_Reny_Darets_Ghost_Summon", "ID": "23f2efc2-532e-4353-a98f-681e3b9c8515", "Components": [ { "$type": "Game.GameData.AttackBaseComponent, Assembly-CSharp", "KeywordsIDs": [ "c6c7bce3-e562-46f6-bb36-4867a4d2f2be", "e4164ba1-116f-4e51-a678-507c0d4e3f5a" ], "AttackDistance": 8, "MinAttackDistance": 0, "AttackVariationID": "76b9f75f-4dd1-4160-ab4a-e715bf89d890", "UseParentEquippableHand": "false", "CastSpeedID": "e2258426-92df-4a1d-b12c-927feb8328cd", "RecoveryTimeID": "cd5ad068-453b-41f9-8779-db38ff00dd20", "ImpactDelay": 0, "ForcedTarget": "None", "AffectedTargetType": "All", "AffectedTargetConditional": { "Conditional": { "Operator": 0, "Components": [] } }, "AffectedTargetDeathState": "Alive", "HostilityOverride": "Default", "PushDistance": 0, "FaceTarget": "true", "AccuracyBonus": 0, "PenetrationRating": 0, "DamageData": { "DamageType": "None", "AlternateDamageType": "None", "Minimum": 0, "Maximum": 0, "DamageProcs": [] }, "Require****Object": "false", "StatusEffectKeywordsIDs": [], "StatusEffectsIDs": [], "RandomizeStatusEffect": "false", "CanGraze": "false", "CanCrit": "true", "DefendedBy": "None", "AfflictionsDefendedBy": "None", "AfflictionApplicationModifier": "None", "SubstituteHitVisualEffect": "", "VisualEffects": [ { "VisualEffect": "prefabs/effects/abilities/cast/fx_cast_chanter_head.prefab", "AttachPoint": "Mouth", "AttachObject": "Caster", "AttachMode": "Attach", "MeshType": "None", "Event": "OnAnimEvent", "AnimEventID": 0, "Loop": "true", "Scale": "false" } ], "AttackOnImpactID": "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000", "ExtraAttackID": "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000", "LaunchBone": "RightWeapon", "HitBone": "Chest", "OnHitShakeDuration": "None", "OnHitShakeStrength": "None", "NoiseLevelID": "15743f94-1026-40b0-8e13-a667b3f66f63", "AllReactNoise": "false", "InterruptsOn": "None", "InterruptType": "Normal", "TargetAngle": 0, "ApplyOnceOnly": "false", "PathsToTarget": "true", "HideFromCombatLog": "false", "AdditionalAttackOnTooltip": "false", "DoesNotApplyDamage": "false", "TreatAsWeapon": "false", "BounceData": { "Bounces": 0, "Multiplier": 0.5, "Range": 10, "InRangeOrder": "false", "NoRepeatTargets": "false", "AlwaysBounceAtEnemies": "false", "Delay": 0, "NeverBounce": "false" } }, { "$type": "Game.GameData.AttackSummonComponent, Assembly-CSharp", "SummonType": "Summoned", "SummonFileList": [ { "Filename": "prefabs/characters/poe2_creatures/cre_phantom.prefab" } ], "SummonDisplayStrings": [ { "String": 74 } ], "OnSummonVisualEffect": "prefabs/effects/abilities/fx_summon_phantom.prefab", "OnDesummonVisualEffect": "prefabs/effects/abilities/fx_summon_phantom_despawn.prefab", "TeamType": "JoinParty", "OverrideTeamID": "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000", "SummonCopyOfSelf": "false", "CopyWeapons": "false", "Duration": 12, "HasLoot": "false" }, { "$type": "Game.GameData.AttackSummonRandomComponent, Assembly-CSharp", "MaxSummons": 1 } ] } The line near the end says "Duration": 12, If you change it to "Duration": 24, then the summon length of the shadow from that Chanter ability will be doubled. I would presume that the other summon durations for the rest of the summoned creatures are in attacks.gamedatabundle, but I haven't rigorously checked.
  23. What's also interesting is that I can't put an item in some merchant containers. All of the ones affected by this are shaded red when I attempt to put an item in a container. The ones that AREN'T affect by this can have items put in them, as per normal.
