  1. You might be right. I can't remember what I knew about ninjas before TMNT came to the UK and therefore, by extension, what my friends did or didn't know about them. Same here, hence the reason most kids knew about it making it rather pointless.
  2. Doubt it. Even if you break off all the quests when you get the companions, you need to run over a lot of places to catch them all. ... Given Mannock's avatar, my thoughts exactly.
  3. Yep. To quote the Wikipedia article: I don't think it worked since almost every child knew that it was originally 'ninja' and why it had been changed. Moreover my guess would be most kids watching it wouldn't have come across the weird ninja before*, so their impression wild be based off the show. If the shire gave off an excessively violent vibe the change simply meant children would think heroes were excessively violent. *Remember home PCs were very rare back then, the internet even rarer, and Wikipedia nonexistent.
  4. Not in the UK. Apparently if we used the word "ninja" in a kids programme all out children would become psychopathic stealth killers or something.
  5. Agreed. It might be possible to get any single given companion in within 30 minutes of finishing Chateau Irenicus (though, as you say, doing so for Cernd or Mazzy is pushing it) but getting all of them in 30 minutes is impossible. I suspect that, for non-speed runners* getting them all would take around 15-20 hours, just as the original post that spawned this conversation was complaining about. *Do people speed run games like BG2?
  6. I always assumed he was an artist at Obsidian given how well his portraits fit into the existing aesthetic. Is/was he not?
  7. Yup, if you're willing to use (abuse?) the retraining system you can learn every single spell in the game this way.
  8. Her video updates are great and that will be missed, but I doubt it's a sign of impending doom. Hopefully she'll do well with whatever she's moving onto.
  9. Given the change to weapon proficiencies I very much doubt they'll remain universal. Would you be able to use multiple proficiencies? Would you be able to use the shield or ranged proficiencies with a melee weapon? Of course it's not a big deal. Proficiencies are nowhere near as important as Pillars' weapon foci. Many proficiencies don't even seen beneficial at all.
  10. I can't help it if your Watcher doesn't have basic hygiene. Mine washes and conditions their hair daily.
  11. Eyeballs yes, but do you have any idea how helpful the Watcher was for getting rid of itches. An itchy nose is no joke when you're an immobile statue.
  12. I dunno, wasn't her whole shtick that she was in love with Caed Nua, the castle she spent much of her life building? If that's the case I imagine she'd be severely depressed that it has been destroyed and that she has been taken away from the ruins thus robbing her of any chance to repair it.
  13. If you're not opposed to it, use the console to give yourself a new Tidefall to enchant the way you want (drop the old one in some out of the way container you're never going to check) and you've basically fixed the problem.
  14. Ooh I like this portrait a lot. A very different style of pale elf.
  15. On Chrome at least you can right click the image and choose search on Google images and, for most images of people, this will tell you their identity. From there you can find the run down yourself.
  16. If cheesecake is pie then cake is definitely worse since all cake is terrible. Most pies are too, but cheesecake and savory pies save the category.
  17. I don't see it. master guardian's sentences are no where near as painfully contorted or full of needless synonyms.
  18. I'd say Valygar is more interesting. I say this because I can, at least, remember his story quest (ancestor who's a necromancer in the planar sphere) but have basically no idea what Cernd's schtick was other than it was related to the shadow druids. You take that back!
  19. I think this would be a good option to add, and an obvious one to be rolled into Expert mode as well. Also agree about floating damage numbers: so often I can't read them even if I wanted to so they just add visual clutter. Not really. I can understand why it would be disabled by default if you are playing on Expert mode, but PotD buffs enemy stats but leaves the game otherwise unchanged (e.g. I still get AoE templates and information on enemy defences during combat).
  20. I was under the impression that whilst their power comes from their own soul, it's their faith that shapes it and gives them priestly abilities. This Durance might need to stay devoted to keep his ability to cast priest spells.
  21. To be fair, her quest was notoriously buggy so its quite possible for large portions of it to never fire. That said, it is indeed a good quest when it works (or is forced to through console commands).
  22. Who'd have thought Durance was returning as a romance option exclusive to Orlan Eothasian Priests.
