  1. Eh. I've never really cared about Brianna Wu. The fact of the matter you should. When the most targeted female victim of gamergate is a man, it just means that patriarchy wins no matter what happens. What do mean? Brianna Wu was never a victim of gamergate, nor is she a journalist; thus she doesn't matter to me.
  2. Eh. I've never really cared about Brianna Wu.
  3. Bruce, are you seriously suggesting that colonialism doesn't have anything to do with why Africa is in such rough shape? I can't seem to find this quote from Bruce that Barothmuk has on his post. Oh well...
  4. Oh, and something something "ethics in game journalism". While it's about ethics in game journalism; the unethical journalists in this case are SJWs. Not to mention that SJWs tend to slander gamergate; a lot. So it shouldn't be hard to understand why people pro-gamergate often talk of SJWs as "the enemy", but SJWs are not actually the target as much as these unethical journalists who just happen to be SJWs.
  5. Seeing as a good number of tea baggers nest in and around my city, I can confirm this. Between the Jack Thompson/Anita Sarkeesian parallels and the willingless to keep a terrible situation as is, I'm starting to wonder if the mainstream left is closer to the right-wingers than they care to admit. The reason is that this isn't a left-right issue.
  6. If Jim Sterling commands; we must obey. I think the "Jimquisition" is about to get a lot scarier.
  7. What a pack of BS. Instead, they harass people who are not even journalists; target indie developers who have less influence on the industry than they do. Who at Gamergate has done so? Not one shred of evidence exists in implicating gamergate of any of this; not even a random **** even faintly associated with gamergate, much less a somewhat relevant portion of gamergate supporters. This is slander; plain and simple. Gamergate has, from the very beginning, only targeted gaming websites that have been participating in unethical practices. I care a great deal about media ethics I don't know how much you care about media ethics, but since you are comfortable with blatant slander I don't think you have much credibility on the matter. Having Jim Sterling oppose you about consumer advocacy in games is like having your medical licence revoked by a medical body, but continuing to practice medicine. Who made Jim Sterling God of media ethics? Gamergate has already exposed beyond a shadow of a doubt real journalistic corruption with the reveal of gamejournopros. Yes, it was Breitbart technically, but it was us who made the claim something like this existed; which is why he looked into it. If Jim Sterling cared about media ethics; he would at least be recognizing the good it's done to help reveal this overt corruption. I would love to have a discussion about ethics; I want people to care and now, thanks to Gamergate, that will become harder There are discussions about ethics right now. Go on and have them. Gamergate has done nothing but raised issues, and exposed overt corruption; such as the colluding of RIVAL journalists in order to push a common narrative. You don't need to be an ethicist to know that's unethical. Oh, Gamergate supporters are very good at taking on corporations to support the corporations, but the gods forbid they actually work at challenging focus testing, dodgy marketing and the ethics of paying for reviews One issue at a time. A big reveal involving corrupt journalists that isn't conjecture, but absolute provable fact is being dealt with. Once the easy battle is dealt with; we can move on to the tougher ones. In their very targeting, Gamergate has been unethical. They are akin to animal rights’ activists who spend their time on a single, Mom and Pop’s Pet Store, which might be actually be a shelter. On what basis? There is no chance that the journalists and the sites we have been targeting could even possibly be ethical. We already have the proof. There is no "what if" in regards to these websites. Nor are these sites small enough to be compared to, "mom and pop" stores. I could respond to this whole thing, but it's just too much. I'm to lazy to debunk every bit of it.
  8. http://imgur.com/a/Z2Tzj http://imgur.com/a/1d6vt http://imgur.com/YkuP7Ft It seems to suggest the guy threatening Anita is a radical feminist who targets her because she "isn't a real feminist".
  9. No wonder they wanted to stop TFYC. They are a bunch of white, male, neckbeards who don't want women in the industry.
  10. Sometimes I get DR and DT confused.
  11. I hope they listen to you on this Sensuki. These ideas would make poe much more fun, and more balanced. Oh, and more varied. Also more user-friendly.
  12. That's a lot better than the UI we have now.
  13. That would be the greatest. I already know enough awesome animators and designers to fill a team. Well I probably wouldn't use your friends, but I'm glad you think that me getting $200,000 would be the greatest. EDIT: You know what? Make your dream come true. Get $200,000 and give it to me for an animation business.
  14. I want to eat a dog at some point. Cat too.
  15. Can I get $200,000 to start an animation business?
  16. I hate Wesley:
  17. Which RtwP games has the following features, but no rounds? A) Has a large party of six people, or more. B) Isometric view. C) Combat that isn't mostly automated.
  18. I think you'll be wrong. As long as they keep George Lucas away from it. Ever since the 90's he's been on a crusade to piece by piece ruin everything about Star Wars. First it was little things; Han strangely sinking his head like tortoise to avoid Gredo's shot; ruining what was a great scene. In time though ruining minor elements wasn't enough! Everything good had to be destroyed.
  19. That UI is... Pretty good actually. I would prefer Sensuki's suggestion, but this wasn't bad at all. Also, JA looks pretty darn cool.
  20. Because the lack of synchronized action makes it chaotic. The best UI in the known universe can't fix that. There are many viable changes besides rounds. We already agree that the UI needs work.
  21. N-Pause-o-Pause-t Pause e-Pause-n-Pause-o-Pause-u-Pause-g-Pause-h Pause p-Pause-a-Pause-u-Pause-s-Pause-e-Pause-.
  22. I guess I misread your post. I guess I'm reading things too fast on too many different threads and websites at once. Also, the sun is making my screen harder to read. Edit: I'm in like, 4 different conversations at once. It's too much, and the darn sun glare; I want the glare gone, but I'm so comfortable I don't want to move.
  23. The UI needs changes, and I suspect we'll be getting them. There's no way OE will keep the UI in the situation it's in now; so I've little desire to discuss it. Sensuki has already made a video on that, and nearly everyone agrees with his UI solution. The issue of rounds is less likely to be fixed, but is just as critical. To be completely honest though; I'm not sure there is time to introduce rounds and rebalance the game around it. That's a depressing thought though.
  24. That's a rare sentiment among developers. After the IE games' success developers decided they hate money and went on to never make a game like that again. Though every time they want to market their mediocre shovel-ware; they decide to name drop the IE games in order to ride on the coattails of the IE games' commercial & critical success.
  25. I agree with most of what you said, but starting in medias res can work just fine. After all, it worked for the original, didn't it? We didn't know who any of those people were. It's just that if it starts in mid-battle, it needs to be understandable, important and it needs to demonstrate who these people are. Like in the original. I would hardly call the start of episode 4 a battle. Yet even if it was there was a build up. The opening sequence tells you what's going on. After that opening scene you know the following: A) That the rebels in this "battle" are being pursued. B) That rebels have obtained vital plans for the Death Star, and if the plans aren't delivered it the end of the rebellion. So already you know the stakes are high; that's how you make it dramatic. Now, compare this with the wookie battle in episode 3. Was there any dramatic build up? No. Was the battle at all important? No. Was it a waste of screen time? Yes.
