As Valsuelm said; it's rarely the same people. I know I've been consistent on such matters.

Yep.... It definitely needs to go. Easier said than done though. J.F.K. was seriously talking about doing so, and look what happened to him. He got shot by a random American commie.

My thoughts on the progress of the Beta since August.
Namutree replied to Arsene Lupin's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
It runs smoother. The skill system is much worse, and the attribute system still sucks; though for new reasons. The standard enemies are better balanced. The special encounters are too easy. The xp system is actually a bit better. The classes feel a bit more open, and the fighter is cooler than before. Engagement is still a mess, but Obsidian is dealing with it. -

Maybe that's why they're doing this now. They might not want people to associate BIO with either side. Not saying they should force their employees to not talk about GG; all I'm saying is that the company may just be trying to avoid conflict. Then again, maybe you're right. I don't know. -
I hate the CIA. I wish we would just get rid of it.

Maybe they want their employees to be neutral? After all; if they can't discuss GG than they can't be anti-GG. BIO might just be trying to steer clear of the issue. -
Simon is the most Fascist game ever.

Rejoice! But... I have yet to joice. How, then, can I do it again? o_O Joice; then do it again. -
Yes. Let's have a 6-year-old-rope-tripper class, shall we? Because, occasionally he'll be able to contribute so well to the party that... who cares about all the times he can't do anything at all? 8D! You must have an awfully strange definition of "functional." I thought the purpose of party-based gameplay was to always function in a collaborative fashion. "Oh, I can't heal you, but I can keep some more damage at bay for you!" "Oh, I can't kill that guy in two fell swoops, but I can paralyze him so that you can get away!" Not "Oh, you guys go ahead... I've done my two things for this 24-hour period. Don't worry, though. I tripped the CRAP out of those guys! 8D! Oh, and, 3 years from now, I'll be so powerful I can just wipe out armies of bandits in a single flourish! But the world will constantly try to counter-counter-balance that with a bunch of 'lolz, that won't work here... it's useless!' immunities, which will then be countered with even more things that I can do. It's really okay. It all works out flawlessly, by design! 8D!" Fine by me. Can the tripper have different kinds of trips though?

Far as I'm concerned great isn't even on the table, but good is possibility. At worst it'll be decent. Wait for poe2 though; that could be great.

I've heard about it. If true I wonder why she's involved. It's not like she was involved in Mirrors Edge 1, and she's not an expert on the industry or anything. A curious choice to get her involved indeed. -

Depends on circumstance, as with most things. By most measures single payer (socialised/ state run) health services are both better in terms of coverage and cheaper overall than market driven ones. Socialist health services are certainly better than socialist/market hybrids. -

To me it doesn't even sound good in theory. Socialist: Wanna give up personal volition in favor of being dominated by majority opinion? Anyone with even a bit of sense: No. -

This is true. I guess people hold GTA to a higher standard since it takes place in a more realistic environment. -

When did Nazi's decide not to sell a video game they decided they didn't want to sell. -
Journalism and sexism in the games industry
Namutree replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yes, they did. They had a game that was rated as Adult Only (18+), that was only to be sold to adults, played by adults, etc., and they gave in to a bunch of Soccer Moms that were worried about kids playing the game. Kids that wouldn't be playing the game if parents would do their damned job. It's almost as idiotic as the people that joined the class action lawsuit against Rockstar when they found out that they could unlock a fully clothed sex QTE on the PS2 in GTA:SA with a memory hacker. Most of the people in that class action didn't own the memory hacker required to unlock the QTE, but why should that stop anyone from their payout? They have every right to give in to anyone they like. You're taking this too personal. They aren't obligated to sell GTA 5. -

Let me tell you something funny. I have always hated the British accent. Especially in video games. I'll tell you something else. My family is French. Guess I inherited a disdain for the accent. -

You can do that if you want, but I don't see why you would. Target didn't do anything wrong. -

Would you support a child-rape simulator? A holocaust simulator? Not with dime of my money, and if i was a retailer; I wouldn't stock such trash. I also don't blame target for removing GTA 5 from it's stocks. Far as I'm concerned; it has every right to not sell any product they want for any reason they want. -

Pfffttt. I can't ****ing believe I'm reading this on the Pillars of Eternity boards of all places. We went ages without an adequate IE styled game. For years I said a company could make a solid profit by making cheaper classic RPGs but noooooooo they all wanted to chase the "big bux" pumping out a series of streamlined, consolized, action games in attempt to capture some mythical fantasy-COD audience. Corporations are filled with dumb****s. Any RPG fan should know this. Yes, this is quite true. As much as I approve of capitalism it doesn't take a genius to know that people can misread a market. Some people do seem to attribute supernatural powers the free market. I've seen things in high demand be completely ignored in favor of products no one wanted. Case in point: Hitman Absolution. All the previous Hitman games were best sellers. Clearly the demand for that style of game was in high demand. Then they came out with a pseudo stealth game that could barely be construed as a Hitman game, or even a game about a Hitman. It obviously didn't sell well. The developers stupidly assumed the market wanted a streamlined piece of crap over a Hitman game. They were stupid. -
