I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but I'd describe your feeling as one of ennui. I suppose depression could be it, but it sounds more like you've done the things you enjoy so much you can't enjoy them because they've become routine. So kicking the routine for awhile may help. Getting the pilots license, if its something that'd interest you, could help kick your general malaise* in the pants. Once you get the license you can decide if the plane would help. *someone really should do a story with a military character named General Malaise - that is if they haven't already.

I've got that, not yet gotten around to watch it. Anyone know if the TV series (Dragon Riders of Berk, IIRC?) is any good? Anyhow, I wished I'd seen How to Train Your Dragon in 3D for the final sequence/fight (probably the only film during the modern 3D push that had a sequence I wished I'd actually seen in 3D). For my part, I watched Insidious Chapter 2. Noisy crowd was a bit annoying, lots of little chatter even if they jumped and screamed at the scary bits. Thought they did some pretty good stuff fleshing out story from the first with a bunch of different elements. There are things to quibble about (like how the one kid got to sleep so fast at one crucial point) but overall I thought it was good and think they've left some stuff open to explore without rehashing this same story (so they can move past this family and James Wan not returning without problem, if they want to - and this weekend's box office pretty much guarantees they will).

Looking up the exact data, they're counting "media appearances, apparel contracts, and fundraising" which undercuts their point. Because at the point you start counting non-public money you're moving away from the "highest paid public employee". Under their method Arnold, when he was governor, would have been counted for both his governor's salary and any residuals he was making from his past movies/books or appearance fees he might get.

Well, that was Stan Lee's default story - that he'd seen an ad in the paper, applied for the job and got it. It was an "inspiring" kind of story designed to inspire people. But Lee was at a con with Simon and essentially said he'd told the ad story so much that while he thought it was true, he really didn't remember it was true. Lee has a reputation as someone who'd stretch and/or alter the truth (not necessarily maliciously although I've heard accusations of such) to make a better story. Since Simon was the editor of Marvel at the time and Kirby the art editor, I'd tend to believe their stories over Lee (who was 16 years old at the time - although Simon remembered Lee telling him he was 17! ).

According to Joe Simon, Lee was brought to him by Lee's uncle, Robbie Solomon (then an editor at Marvel Comics), and told that Marty (Martin Goodman - owner of the parent company to Marvel, the publisher of Marvel Comics and whose wife Lee was related to) wanted Simon to "keep Lee busy".

Well it did apparently show at a festival in the US, so I guess you have plausible deniability on your side...

Well it'll be hard for any of us in the US to watch it as last I head it was in legal limbo due to some lawsuits that don't appear to be settled yet. :|

It also means that an elf baby remains a baby for like 6 years. They're in their "terrible twos" until they're 18. In other words, I imagine that compared to humans their progression is a curve to human's line; there's probably a combination of physically and culturally created factors that lead to an extended childhood period (possibly, from a practical point, just to keep the societal roles from collapsing with no position turnover for decades).

Watched...well lets see... Penguin Pool Murder (1932) first film in the Hildegard Withers detective series. Thought it was pretty fun if you like 1930s-40s funny mysteries. Silent Hill: Revelation - a decent follow-up to the previous film. Fairly gory. Riddick - Riddick kills a bunch of stuff. Plus some humor and monsters. The Birds - Always an interesting film to watch; with so much attention given to Tippi Hedren its easy to forget how good Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette and Veronica Cartwright are. The superimposition effects still look good. Also this time around I saw two edits that I now wonder why Hitch edited that way...
