"Unable to create direct3d device error"
astherial replied to Tomekandr3451's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Ok I solved this same problem for someone today, just need to figure out the dll. If you go to the folder the .exe is located and launch from there instead of steam does the error change? If not can you go to windows eve4nt viewer and look at the error in there, you will get a path that tells you the file that is having a problem(it will not be the southpark exe) it will be a dll file. -

astherial replied to wargumm1i's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Did you alter any of the files to make it skip the intro by chance? Cause there is one file that breaks the save feature. -
Huge lag randomly (PC)
astherial replied to Agenteusa's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
When you launch the game and hit the continue button at the main screen, does the volume chop a bit? If so I have this problem and though anoying if you launch the game like 10 times in a row, 1 of the 10 will work. It doesnt fix the fact that this needs to be addressed but at least you can play. I think its a corrupt dll myself I just need to figure out what one. -
CTD during cutscene pls halp
astherial replied to theschaman's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Do you know how to check your windows event viewer? Its under administrative tools in the control panel, Under there you will see windows log, then aplications. Check for the south park ding, it will have a bit more information then this. It shoudl give you a path to the file that failed itself. Also did you alter the launch files at all to skip the intro? Thats causing some big bugs for people./ -

Game not displaying full screen
astherial replied to thatsjustgreat's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I cant remeber on the ps3 but I know on my ps4 I can edit the screen to expand the size of the ps4 screen. I get it would be anoying before you are in the game but if you are like me and only going to be playing this for the next few days it may be worth trying instead of waiting for the patch. -

Game wont play
astherial replied to NicWil's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I just replied to you and gave you facebook info anywho its under start, then control panel, administrative tools, event viewer, windows log, applications, then you need to search for the one that mentions south park. Your best bet is to launch it again now, wait tillo crash then check the log. Cause the log can be HUGEEEEEEE. -

astherial replied to NicWil's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Oh I should mention, I had the same problem as you, but did notice if I tried to start the game over and over out of 5 times, I would at least get it once. After I fixed up my nvidia settings though I dont get that problem very often. However I do have the same stutter issue at times a lot of people are getting. -
Game wont play
astherial replied to NicWil's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Cool, checked it out, not much info there. If you go to windows event viewer, windows logs, applications, find the error. Is there anymore info in there? Also did you check your nvidia options like I mentioned? -

Game wont play
astherial replied to NicWil's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Do you know how to check your application error log under andministrative tools? If you do maybe can shed some more light on this. Also have you set your nvidia control pannel to override anything by defualt? If so you can try creating a seperate set of launch options under the nvidia control pannel to force it all to be aplication controlled(this I am just throwing out there. Probbably gonna get the best info from the error log) -
Abortion clinic bug, need support
astherial replied to tido's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I had that problem but I realized when it switched testicles you need to hold the other mouse button, so when you are on that testicle you should be holding the right mouse button. Are you doing that? -

Failed to load DX9 DLL
astherial replied to MrBehemoth's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
actually, does it list what dll is missing under more details? Cause the dll can be downloaded and dropped in your system folder. Eg http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/17a3a114-cf1a-4464-af0d-7de6a5aa841d/company-of-heroes-demo-game-fails-to-load-due-to-dx9-dll-missing?forum=itprovistaapps -

video_autodetect.xml
astherial replied to astherial's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Have you actually checked your config.ini file to see what your settings are maxed, and your engine.ini to see if you are running in dx9 or dx11. It may appear to be full settings, but if any of the items in the list say false, it is not, and I promise you if you set all those things to true, it makes a big difference in appearance and game performance. I accidentally listed the gtx 460 instead of the 480 and since that really made a huge difference in this conversation I thanks for the correction their. Also most games that are not setup to detect a card because the device id is not listed in one of the configuration files will usually default to lowest settings, unless the program was written to be smart enough to gauge the cards performance. However not all games have that feature.- 2 replies

So one of my big problems is that sometimes when I launch the game, looks fine, until I continue or start the game, then audio gets choppy and video. If I re launch the game like 10 times, 1 time might work and things are fine, but the walking still looks really choppy.

Failed to load DX9 DLL
astherial replied to MrBehemoth's question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I would try going to the engine.ini file, open with notepad, then look for dx11 and use dx 11 option, set tose to true, and dx 9 to false, should force it to work in dx11 and fix problem. Thats what I am using it in. But heads up if you verify cache after that it will set back to original settings. -
video_autodetect.xml
astherial posted a question in South Park: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hey I was just wounering if anyone else noticed that the video detect file is not up to date. The settings detect does not go past a gtx 460. So cards like mine get set to lowest settings. I verified this by checking out the ini files.- 2 replies
