GIS seems to have taken images posted on Obsidian threads I've posted in and associated them with my name. That picture, for example, was used in Meta's OBS-2 game, which I posted in.

Friday sound much goodness. -
Wizard 18% Combativeness, 36% Sneakiness, 73% Intellect, 38% Spirituality Brilliant! You are a Wizard! Wizards are spells-casters who study powerful arcane magic. While Wizards tend to be pretty fragile, some of those spells can pack quite a punch. Unlike Clerics, Wizards aren't as good at fixing people as they are at breaking them, so watch where you toss that fireball! Your most distinctive trait is your intelligence. You're probably well learned and logical, if perhaps a bit fragile. My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: You scored higher than 3% on Combativeness You scored higher than 36% on Sneakiness You scored higher than 74% on Intellect You scored higher than 42% on Spirituality

FFVII open areas were only good for level milling. Same for all the FF games. If I have to level mill to get the most of out of the game then I rather not play it. Level milling is boring. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They're also pretty good for exploring. Literally exploring. For the purposes of nothing other than exploration. Which I enjoy.

Yea! No one dies! BTW, the international numbers won't save this movie (sequel). I hope I'm wrong. I'm all but sure I'm not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If we're lucky, though, the DVD sales just might.

One of the biggest appeals for me as an amateur (and maybe someday professional) linguist, was that after several hundred years, the language wasn't exactly the same as it is today. I didn't realise until after the film that most of the words I didn't understand were Chinese, but I think the inclusion of Chinese words into the English spoken by the characters was about as well as one could reasonably expect a film to model the evolution of language (expecting a different grammar is too much for anything other than books, I think). Language was one of those things that always nibbled away at the back of my mind in Science fiction film and television (Stargate being the absolute worst offender here, despite it being otherwise a good show), so my geeky side was impressed by Serenity here.

I too liked Exploration in FFVII. Exploring planets holds more appeal for me than exploring areas.

Well...not bad for me, I suppose. I get to see everyone's orders first. " -
Imagine the outtakes on the DVD... "Hello." "Hello." "Follow me." "Okay." [standing under grinder] "Wait." "Okay." [Abe pulls lever] [Mudoken gets grinded] "Oops. Hee hee hee."

In a way, it'll be somewhat disappointing if the first person shot doesn't include a stat bar at the bottom with health, ammo, and a little floating head with a bloody nose. "

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone at home? Come on, now, I hear you're feeling down. Well I can ease your pain Get you on your feet again. Relax, I need some information first. Just the basic facts. Now can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain, you are receding, A distant ship's smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves, Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child I had a fever, My hands felt just like two balloons. Now I've got that feeling once again, I can't explain it you would not understand, This is not how I am. And I have become comfortably numb. I have become comfortably numb. Okay, Just a little pinprick. There'll be no more--[scream], But you may feel a little sick. Can you stand up? I do believe it's working, good. That'll keep you going through the show, Come on it's time to go. There is no pain, you are receding, A distant ship's smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves, Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child, I caught a flitting glimpse, Out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look but it was gone, I cannot put my finger on it now, The child is grown, The dream is gone. But I have become comfortably numb.

Of course, it becomes impossible to bluff me when Kaftan sends me Jags' orders before I've sent him my own. And now we have a rather huge problem as a result. -
Serenity based their advertising on advance screemings. In the US, every city that had high ratings for Firefly got to see the film well in advance, and the rest of the world got to see it at their country's film Festivals (and I had the bad luck of missing both screenings at the Edinburgh Film Festival). Other than that, they released short Vignettes indirectly related to both Firefly and Serentiy which were intended to bridge the gap between the series and the movie, and, as was posted earlier, they released the first nine minutes onto the net. The idea, as Walsingham said, was that all that would generate word of mouth advertising beyond those items, which seemed to have worked quite well, as I believe the film opened at #2 in the US for its first week.

Well, you could just leave the "(sic)" part out. If Kaftatine chases you up on it, you can tell him it was deliberate and not to tell me, and once Kaftan sends orders to me, I won't chase up mistakes in the orders he has sent me (unless something were obviously wrong, like Germany's moves being listead as Austria's, or something). -

Clear as crystal, thanks. Galaxy class USS Enterprise, Firefly class Serenity. Gotcha.

I hadn't seen any of Firefly and still thought the film was great, if that helps. Incidentally Hades, why is the series called Firefly? I assumed when I heard about it that it would be the name of the ship, but since its name is Serenity (unless they switched ships between the series and the movie), Firefly is something of a mystery to me. I'll have to buy the series on DVD (unless I can figure out which of the episodes they show on Sci-Fi is the first one), but while I have no doubt it'll be damn good, I highly doubt it will touch the sheer brilliance of the current Battlestar Galactica. Especailly not after that last episode.

I went to see Serenity today. In my opinion, it was one of the best Sci-Fi films I've ever seen. 'Twere truly awesome. :D

Is it that bad? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't worry, Will. Fish is just bitter because Baley wouldn't sleep with him. "

Vikings, Rape and pillage sounds good. In fact, forget the pillage. And the vikings. " Other than that, I'd have to say that Mus hit the nail on the head there.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by bluffing the other person, but though I'll see everyone's orders, since all orders including my own have to go through Kaftan, I won't see anyone's orders until it's too late to change my own, exactly as if I was a regular player. Speaking of which. Kaftan emailed me today. Those with builds had ample time to email Kaftan, therefore, anyone not included in the Email Kaftan sent me I'm going to interpret as an NMR. The adjudication will be done by the end of the day, pending a confirmation I have to get from Kaftan of one order. -

Austria? Why Austria? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because I am t3h roxxor, of course! -
No, but I've studied American History, and I plan to immigrate to the US in a few years. I'd like it very much if the Republican Party got rid of all their crazies before I arrive. I never personally lived under a sane Republican reigime, but I still "miss" it in the sense that that is what I want, and I can't get it anywhere in the world anymore. Perhaps miss wasn't the right word, then.
