  1. I thought it was the other way around, the females are fairly horrible, the old guys acceptable. Except that godawful Tim Curry.
  2. Battle for Middle-Earth 2, and the evil campaign is killing me(pun heartily intended). Second missions has this, "great" invasion, which basically amounts to a ton of goblins and a couple of pirates setting on shore in Mithlund and promptly being completely slaughtered because every elf there is worth 4 goblins and the extra half-troll spearmen can't do crap against ents. Then the game decides to sent in a level 1 goblin hero. Whoop-te-doo. In contrast, the good campaign has so far let you field fully upgraded Rivendell and Mirkwood archers and with Silverthorn arrows they are basically like ancient magical Fallschrimj
  3. Pixies - Caribou Cool beans.
  4. That does sound really good. Hopefully the enemies can gang you, so the Assassin's Creed-like dozen enemies circling you, waiting for the player to dispatch one at a time, set doesn't come into play. Consequently, there'd have to be moves that push enemies back in a circle, or other vector. But we'll see.
  5. Congrats, man. I'm looking forward to the last days of summer, and spending them with the missus in our urban retreat. Also, starting to learn Spanish for the first time.
  6. Is this a joke?
  7. Looks great, and the campaign sounds better every time they release new info.

  10. Well, Bone has it's share of epic bastards. And I completely forgot to recommend it. I have the complete edition and I really love it.
  11. Definitely get Ellis' Transmetropolitan, highly recommended. I'd venture to recommend Loeb and Sale's Superman for all Seasons and Long Halloween and Dark Victory and...well, they are my fave duo. If you don't mind Batman, The Long Halloween is a good buy and if you happen to for some reason like Batman, get Dark Victory. Katsuhiro Otomo's AKIRA is a steadfast example of all that is good in comics. Then, since in the aftermath of your manga reading you are doubtlessly trying to find more, get Death Note, Blade of the Immortal and Black Lagoon as well. And don't listen to anything Kaftan says. Persepolis, if you can find a good English translation, is just great as well. Very original. And while you are at it, how about reading HIGH MOON right now. Tomwaitsian werewolf westerns don't get much better.
  12. I carry with me an Inquisitorial Seal. It is a small, unassuming object contained in a neat box of Pluvian obsidian. It is a modest thing. Relatively plain, adorned with a single motif and a simple motto. Yet with this little object I can sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign a billion souls to Oblivion. -Thraviam Flast, Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus New info on DoW 2 later this week or next week.
  13. Ice cream man driving the ice cream van! Yeah, they are slow, most autopatchers are. It's generally a better idea to just download and apply patches externally. I understand your frustration .concerning the servers though. Maybe if there was more support for faster updating, the issue might get highlighted, but no luck there yet.

    Books

Star Wars novels? At least I think it's the same Stackpole.
  15. Trust me D_N, you are not missing out much with the censored edition.
  16. Call of Duty: United Offensive had the British final levels set in Syracuse, on and around the coast. It was incredibly refreshing.
  17. Putin basically overstepped the president when ordering the troops to move into Georgia. That should tell you something about the man.
  18. Daave, your lady friend was a virgin? I don't dare to think about the other possibilities. Umm, I woke up about an hour ago, after a BC Rearmed marathon, kinda hoping the fridge wouldn't be empty. Yeah, my wish, my bad. I was supposed to go to town to deal with some supports issue, but it's a hot day and I left my bike to a friend's repair shop yesterday so I can't be arsed to leave anywhere. When it comes to walked kilometres and random issues with taxation changes, I'll pass, thanks. Tomorrow is the Night of the Arts in here, which means some great night life, in small town terms. Also means a higher probability to end up in a fight with drunks which is always a laugh. No doubt the police are gonna have a higher presence this year after someone was stabbed to death in the First of May festivities earlier this year. Ergo, less drunk teens to drive over an unwary pedestrian in high spirits. Thank you very much. I'm so alienated from every circle after moving out couple a years ago, but no doubt I'll hang with the few friends still left. Those circles weren't anything to tell home about anyway. Not in a centrum so inbred and high-strung. But the market street on the other hand...swell. Expecting a good night out.
  19. Simon Viklund - Bionic Commando Theme Rearmed
  20. What the hell, that was the best game on 360 so far. I...goddamn. Grin really outdid themselves. And it's just an arcade game!
  21. Bionic Commando Rearmed! Sweet sweet sweet!
  22. Well, duh. Unarmed in Fallout 2 is just about unbeatable as long as you aren't against super mutants with rocket launchers. A concentrated unarmed build was absolutely ridiculous, both in terms of how powerful it was and in terms of how unbelievable a guy busting heads in a world of nuclear mutants and miniguns was. But this isn't F2 and with the focus they seem to have put in shooting, I wouldn't hold my breath.
  23. Forget about always hitting, they can easily balance it with lower damage based on your provenance with the melee skill. Dropping strength requirements from weapons is far worse. So, ok, now they don't weigh anything when you use them? What the hell? Why even put points into strength anymore? Or are you seriously suggesting that a melee build is viable enough in a world where people carry portable nuclear launchers and laser rifles and that justifies keeping strength in? I really don't see the point, unless there's serious stealth gear and power fists available mid-game.
  24. I was about to stop in Curst, but instead kept a week hiatus from the game. Quickly the week became several months. When I later I came back because I was bored at the time, I went through the prison guards like mowing grass and loved the rest of the game. Funnily enough, I did the same with Gothic 2 and Old Camp siege.
