  1. Yes, a most arousing dead end.
  2. And I think we arrived at a dead end.
  3. Oookay, modded Dark Messiah is fun. Especially the staff weapon and various enemy special abilities. Lightning spell has probably the awesomest special effect since ever. I don't know how they are going to balance the staff properly, it's so awesomely powerful. I've been summoning cyclopes to fight an army of zombies and goblins. :D
  4. This would be Dark Messiah soundfiles. They are pretty bland to be honest.
  5. Most of the Gamershell weren't corrupted for me, only the west coast ones. I had to restart and retry quite a bit of times to get a working copy.
  6. Space opera? Well, there's probably a strict set of rules somewhere, but set genre specifications are anal, so my definition is kinda loose. To put it simply, anything that focuses on the leaps on technology that have been in the future and tries to explain them scientifically is scifi. Space opera on the other hand is pretty much space fiction. No technology is explained as such, it just is, like lightsabers of hyperdrive. Another example; Babylon 5 is very much scifi, while Firefly is space opera(or a cowboy story in space). Cowboy Bebop is space opera, most mecha series are space opera, Silver Surfer is space opera, so are Giraud's graphic novels and Dan Simmon't Hyperion, while on the other hand Star Trek is not. Some people characterize space opera as epic, but it doesn't have to be, although a lot of the stories do have galaxy-wide happenings and grand themes,, like fight between light and darkness and revenge. Such, is space opera.
  7. I'll try; it's space opera. Not scifi.
  8. I doubt our grandchildren can brake the laws of physics. Duh.
  9. The demo is awesome. I'm definetly buying this, maybe even over Gothic 3.
  10. It's not possible to hold that much light in place, at least not in conccentrated form. I don't know why I even bother answering this thread. Ynnhh
  11. Thiefy bits are fine. The level isn't exactly planned to that kind of activity, but you can sneak it through. Mostly I shoot arrows to spring traps over hapless orcs though. The problem is that, at least in the demo, if you really want somehting out of sneaking, you need loads of skillpoints investments, since the(very Thiefesque I mgiht add) hide in shadows-system only seems to come to play on the last level of stealth-skilltree. Before that you only get quiet footstep sounds and backstabbing. But it's doable. And you can sneak around people when they are looking for you, carry corpses to shadowy niches, use fire to light arrows and oil puddles, etc. It's all there. Like Assassin:The Dark Project. I like how they have portrayed archery, you can't do much of anything with a bow if your skill in it is low, but put a few points to it and you'll get bow zoom, the crosshair doesn't bob so much anymore and suddenly it's very powerful to shoot a burning arrow to someone's neck. Chances are, if he doesn't die from the initial hit, since ballistics are taken into equation and it's bloody hard to hit the spot you want, the fire from the shaft will burst him in flames and all his buddies next to him. Toppling oil urns, stumbling down stairs and running into traps. I'm going to try magic next.
  12. Dark Messiah demo. It's so damn satisfying to kick an orc with a burning barrel after being thrown halfway through the room into a spike trap.
  13. The same now. This would be the first time I hear Afghan Whigs. So yeah.
  14. Yeah, and the player movement is supposedly akward and the demo level is really stale thanks to those +8 videos of it. I don't mind, most people hated the movement in Deadly Shadows, another game that got crap thrown at it due to body awareness, but I liked the movement there. Edit:Curse you Allanface, curse your black magic internet connection!
  15. Nothing out so far, most people are downloading. The first level is supposedly the one with the cyclops and those rafters and rope-lifts. 7 hours left!
  16. We need to do a weirdo tag team with Pidesco.
  17. Yes, I'm the alt account of the 8 first ones. The others are pale imitations of my masters.
  18. But it would be hellishly fun with the right dev attitude.
  19. We do remember the fighter mages of Arcanum, right? Falling unconscious during melee and all that. It would be really awkward on parties. Hey, that's an idea! The more you cast, the more drunk with power you become and begin gibber ferventely/froth at mouth/wear bananas on you ears/fall unsconscious from sheer extacy/experience drunken torpor, etc. But the best possible system would be a mix of Jade Empire ki and drunken kung-fu. The more drunk you are the more powerful you became. At the end you could go to somehting similar to Bloodlines bloodrage(humanity loss+lack of blood). Tossin foes left and right, the player would loose control totally.
  20. Elaborate and brief a common stooge. Durr, wut is Mice'n men?
  21. I'm not MCA, but that sound almost plausible. Sort of a fatigue cost, eh? It's better then a simple mana system, since the losing of stats affects more things than just some arbitary number of points in your manapool.
  22. The same, the same. That's why we congregate here and never venture outside to the horrors of Teh Internets. Stare not on the internet for the goatse might stare back.
  23. Make it five and that system might work. Unlimited fireball is a bit too much on 7th level.
  24. Can I vote Revan Returns/Sturm? Of course I can.
