  1. I hope Obsidian or some modders come up with a working companion ai someday. These sorts of micromanagment during a non turn based combat neither feels fluid nor fun to me. I have put it aside for now.
  2. Im interested to read what this patch will actual fix...second AP playthrough considered.
  3. I think the only thing what changes between today and 80/90 was the easier patch delivery thru autoupdate/Internet. Games from earlier era were bug ridden too, from the 90's i remember a prominent soccer manager which were practical unplayable on most computers before a patch arrived...update via floppy disk...to get from the store. In 1995 i bought "Aliens: A Comic Book Adventure" without patch impossible to play through. I didn't have internet back then. I got my patch over a bbs mailbox. But even simpler games from the 80's lacked quality control, just watch some AVGN videos.
  4. Can only comment on the screenshots (since the trailer download is awfully slow). I liked HoMM V (okay was my first HoMM) but these screenshots, even though similiar to HoMM V, are a bit too (whats the word?) glaring or flashy for my taste. But i will give it a try once its out.
  5. Even thougth Obsidian developed it, AP is the IP of Sega and only they are in charge to order a patch from Obsidian. Feargus said at E3 he wanted to release a patch shortly after the first issues from reviewers and players arrived, but SEGA still wanted to wait. I guess as the sales were way below their expectation, they drop any further plans inversting any money which includes expansions and patches. My guess is they dropped more money on AP as they indended to in the first place (and therefore killing other projects like the Aliens RPG), but if I were the one who pull the trigger on Sega i would 1. Make some sort of a big patch/expansion for free 2. Bundle the patch/expansion with a lower pricetag and call it AP 1.5 (or something) 3. Release it again to reviewers I think this can save SEGA's (and Obsidians) reputation and their Alpha Protocol brand which would do great as a series.
  6. Me too, but i guess there will never be a official patch. Are there any modders around Alpha Protocol?
  7. also Ghostmaster Vampires Masquarde: Bloodlines Theme Hospital / Park Sin Episodes Blade Runner
  8. As angshuman says... Also explain what you mean with efficeny and the Doom 3 engine? I would had agreed on .kkrieger from the same year with the term efficeny.
  9. idTech 4: Doom 3 Quake 4 Quake Wars Prey Return to Castle Wolfenstein II Source Engine: Half Life 2 Portal Team Fortress 2 Dark Desire of Might and Magic Left 4 Dead Natural Selecton 2 Sin Episodes  The Crossing Postal 3 Vampire Bloodlines
  10. I'm interested in Rage, but this is the first time I heard it will be some sort of an RGP, as far as I read it will be primarly an FPS. I hope Tim "I'm a hack" Willits don't get his hands too much on it. And it' seems Carmack may have finally done a good 3D engine since 1999. Carmack is good, but in my opinion he has to live up to the praise he still receive's, the current id Tech 4 engine got overshadowed by other 3D engines quickly.
  11. Dont know if its posted before, but the Star Wars Next Gen Video from youtube looks very good. Would be a nice engine for Kotor III. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC3bqyq9QQY...ail%26id%3D5236
  12. You dont need german to hear what he is patiencly waiting for. Its Unreal Tournament, he said it twice.
  13. Huh? A link where I can read about it (not a forum/blog link).
