  1. LHC Webcam :D
  2. Breaking news: Gordon Freeman spotted near Large Hadron Collider! We are all doomed...
  3. Well, the updated version adds some new content as well, see the changelog for more details. BTW, as SCSII is one of my own favorite mods, full compatibility with Rogue Rebalancing is always assured.
  4. I'm glad you like it. BTW, make sure to get the latest version as the old ones had some compatibility issues with other mods.
  5. Since you're playing as an Assassin, and apparently like tactical challenges, you might want to try my [shameless plug] Rogue Rebalancing mod as well. [/shameless plug]
  6. It largely depends on the components which you chose to install. SCSII is extremely modular and it's possible to mix and match its components until you're satisfied with the difficulty level. It even contains some "remixed" Tactics components (i.e. Improved Bodhi) though I haven't tried any of those as I usually stick with pure AI enhancements. AFAIK, Tactics and SCSII are at least partially compatible, but you'd best check the readme for more details. Heh, I still lurk here on occasion, though nowadays, I mostly hang around various BG2 modding communities. Nice to see you're still here as well.
  7. The Tactics mod is outdated and its difficulty enhancing capabilities have since been surpassed by other mods which play fair and rely on highly advanced AI instead of using cheep methods such as taking the party's items and/or giving opponents absurd abilities/resistances. See SCSII for an example of a modern AI enhancing mod. BTW, Arkan, this might also interest you: Flaming Swords in BG2.
  8. It is rumored that the second movie will try to bridge the gap between the Hobbit and the Fellowship of The Ring.
  9. A total conversion which will enable this is already in the works. The developer is currently looking for beta testers, so if you are interested feel free to apply.
  10. Apparently, the Obsidian boards now also have that pesky "You can only edit your post x minutes after you've posted. After that interval your post becomes locked." rule. On topic, kudos to WotC for finally getting rid of the craptastic Vancian magic system.
  11. Isn't that pretty much what these guys are trying to do? http://afterfall.pl/index/en/36 If they manage to implement just 50% of the stuff mentioned in that FAQ it's going to be an awesome game.
  12. Which have been recently updated. If you plan on installing my Rogue Rebalancing mod, make sure you get the latest version from here. Nope, that's a different mod from a different author. BTW, before installing any other mods, I'd highly reccomend getting the latest ToB patch and the G3 BG2 Fixpack (which is now the de-facto standard for any BG2 installation).
  13. Hmm, sounds like they don't necessarily plan on reusing the original NWN2 companions, and I'm not quite sure what to make of that. Otherwise, it sounds pretty good.
  14. It takes a bit of work, but it is possible to slipstream SATA drivers to your original Windows XP installation CD. Actually, it is. You just have to install it first.
  15. Hmm, this is somewhat interesting, though I'm not getting my hopes too high until we receive more info about the game. Anyway, what I'd personally like to see would be a prequel to the original Deus Ex, possibly with the focus on Paul, rather than a continuation of Invisible War's screwed up streamlined
  16. *suddenly imagines an unofficial Van Buren TC by J.E. Sawyer* However, for many people (myself included) the SPECIAL system is a large part of Fallout. And if Bethesda decides to scrap/drastically alter that system, it becomes questionable how much the modders could affect it. Many important gameplay features (such as the combat system) are usually hardcoded into the engine.

  18. I have a module trilogy planned (you could say in early pre-production) but I've put the actual development on ice until the first NWN2 expansion comes out. As I haven't got any NWN modding experience some aspects of the Toolset simply proved too unwieldy for me (as I had detailed here) but I'm hoping that Obsidian will make it more accessible with patches and expansions. Furthermore, since I've recently gotten into Pen 'n' Paper D&D gaming, I might actually turn the ideas I had for the modules into a PnP campaign before publishing them in electronic form.
  19. I used to lurk at the BIS boards, but I never made any posts until I started modding BG2, and by that time they had merged back into the Interplay forums. You mean this one? It can be found here along with the rest of the bisimgs.
  20. No, I'm not disappointed with Obsidian at all. Instead, I'm disappointed with the current state of affairs in the gaming industry, especially the "mainstreaming" and "mass marketing" trends. IMO, Obsidian is doing the only reasnable thing in that situation and trying stay afloat. And while they certainly do have the capacity to make better and deeper RPGs, I'm fairly satisfied that they haven't decided to completely betray their ideals and that they are trying to work on some kind of a compromise instead of completely disappearing from the scene like Troika (sadly) did.
  21. Get the PSX version and run it via emulator. You can even up the resolution with proper plugins.
  22. Here you go.
  23. IIRC, there are currently no repercussions for a failed pickpocket check in NWN2, even if the target Spots your attempt. BTW, Gamefaqs has a detailed pickpocketing guide in its NWN2 section.
