  1. In KotOR I felt 20 was too much but more because of the pacing of the game, I understand who the PC was helped a heckavalot and some things like NPC leveling about the same as you are expected for gameplay but it still felt too fast and easy there. I can live with 30 though since there look to be more classes available and if they make the combat more challenging to match (though I still can't really see tactics coming into play).
  2. Here we go, this was the thread Gameplay Trailer, nothing to write home about, but.... and here's the clip. What I meant by over the top was the whole body flipping and spinning around like little tornado, just didn't seem smooth or plausable I guess, I mean, if you look at say Oni's or perhaps Jedi Outcast's (and the Star Wars movies) animation for example they might look super human/expert or a little crazy but plausable, taking a little time to recover and gathering momentum to get to those crazy speed spins and kicks. Perhaps it's just because he standing there one second and then like a spinning top the next then back again, not really any recovery time and what not.
  3. Whatever happened to the guy Interplay used for BG series (and I think IWD), Michael Hoenig and his group I think it was, I think he did a better job than Mr. Soule did in NWN. But yea, Jeremey Soule did a good job on KotOR IMO and should have carried over to KotORII. I remember that in an interview he said he had organised a library of samples specifically for the KotOR soundtrack, which would have been ready to go for KotOR II but oh well. And I think I liked the story and some of the characters the most but I have to say it was the overall quality that made it a good game in my book. I don't think of any specific parts of it as really standout but rather each part was done to a good standard.
  4. Someone posted it somewhere on the board within the last 5 days ... perhaps I'll try and find the thread later. It was hosted at a yahoo based site anyway..
  5. -A character polishing their blaster with a glint in their eye is a must HK-47 would have been a great candidate for that in KotOR. -Practicing spinning a blaster in hand is another (you could have the NPC drop the blaster a few times at the beginning and as the game progresses you see him get better and better, that would be a nice touch). -Using a small group of NPC's playing Pazaak around a table (which could possibly reuse the same animations of playing for different NPCs playing against each other at different times) with the occasional voice track of one guy loosing or the winner saying friendly things like "hand over the credits nerf herder". -And a throw back to Jedi Knight's "shaving with a lightsaber" idle animation would be most excellent :D I guess those are unlikely to happen but I think if they could do a few generic animations for some of the different skeleton types and so could use them on more than just one NPC then perhaps apply them randomly even that would be nice ... Things like this would be very nice but if they always only did one set thing I think I almost wouldn't care if they just stood there staring into nothingness like in KotOR.
  6. I haven't watched alot of the videos (and probably am not going to) so I'm not quite sure what you mean by but I think it might be fairly difficult to stop NPCs walking over mines (or get them to go around them reliably, I guess that includes other NPCs as well) but hopefully they'll improve pathfinding in general. I like what animitions have been shown so far except the one that can be seen on a video with Yahoo! watermark on it, the move looks like the PC (wearing blue/chrome Mandalorian armour I think) is doing a really fast flip and a half with a few white particles appearing around him, that just looked a bit over the top IMO.
  7. It's the piece you hear in your apartment in Taris and in the credits if you are male or involved with Bastila anyway.[ed]And on the Rakatan temple roof[/ed] As for the topic, well I don't really know, I am looking forward to a darker game with better character tie ins and interaction. Returning to Dantooine was a good idea and the new robes are nice too please oh mighty art team and LucasArts, please \o/ _o_ \o/ _o_ [ed]Sad to hear the game won't be longer also[/ed]
  8. It worked fine but I don't think it was perfect, personally I'd prefer the menus to be on the bottom or along the side with a little bar for each thing (which maybe had scroll bar if there isn't enough space to fit all the icons for the feat/weapon) instead of needing to click through each feat/attack box in the original. Most PC players should be playing at good enough resolution for something like that to be useful I think. [ed] Ooo, and making it so that you can hide the interface and have a mode available where it only shows up when paused would be nice IMO [/ed]
  9. I don't think showing corruption of the body through stat adjustment or what have you is the way to go (we already have hit die for classes), I'd be satisfied with just having some effect on NPCs or some such or maybe an "aura" (effects NPCs nearby - like bonuses or penalties) though I think that may be used for class specific purposes (which was mentioned for Jedi Master). Some moral ambiguity in dialogue could help alot methinks, I suppose to a certain degree it should be clear to the player that "this option is probably naughty". Would show that you must be careful and that it only takes small steps to start slipping to the dark side.
  10. Same as it is now, I still post a couple of posts in the KotOR II speculation threads in the PC section and trying to keep up on the Dragon Age thread
  11. I posted a bit there until the XB version was released then after a little while I took another look and got hit by a spoiler heh. For a while there there were no moderators (PC Section) IIRC but things weren't too bad at the time, Saberist was quite a character, man I can remember him on a Jedi Knight II board before it's release with those famous daunting blocks of text "Force Long Post" was what they called such posts heh
  12. I'm hoping for some reskins as options for the existing heads (which Bioware should have done in the first place methinks) and some more heads from what that quote of Akari's says. Personally I'll be quite annoyed if they don't have a few face textures as options for some of the old/new head models, I would probably use some of those other ones (There were only 2 that I actually used for male PCs, haven't really had time to play as female) depending on what a new texture would look like.
  13. That's usually handled by the publisher, and LucasArts uses the same voice actors through different games a fair bit, so I don't think it will be a problem for them to get the original voice talent for returning characters (especially considering it's a sequel and KotOR did very well sales wise).
  14. ok.. I think Vampire:TM - Bloodlines is doing this, I don't think it's necessary for KotORII but if it was there I'd make use of it.
  15. Maybe one of your "converted" party members but I think it would be difficult when you still have the rest of your party with you earlier in the game, assuming they will make all party members you're going to get available within the first quarter of the game.
  16. How do you mean "evil", sadistic like or scheming... I guess there was only HK-47 who was just a bit blood thirsty, working from distant memory here ,Canderous wasn't really "standard evil", more like his whole life and culture was what he knew but what that lead to (the wars etc...) was naughty so he was classed as dark/evil.l At least some NPC's can be turned (or apparently can be) as you progress in the game, having an obviously Dark force user would be interesting, I can see the conflict and scheming now, why would he/she join with you though, uneasy alliance for a (temporarily)common cause type deal?
  17. Hmm, now that would have been really useful if party members were contrallable with the mouse(point'n click) for example, easy as moving units in the Total War games. Anyway, (3rd Person) mouse look (toggleable I guess so you could still swing the camera around) would be more than just nice IMO, and have more uses than admiring the scenery. With FPS type functionality there'd be no more having to hold a button to toggle to pointer mode so you can move pointer into position and click for example, just "aim" and click ... well, hope I'm not starting to rant heh
  18. I guess that's the just the nature of PC configs and some rushing/pushyness from publishers or developers. heh it was so funny when the publishers of Derek Smart's game (Battlecruiser something ... I presume, don't really remember) published the RC or beta or something well I'm sure someone can remember better than me. Luckily I have run into very few problems in the release version games I've bought and played including KotOR(none that I'm aware of), though both versions had problem bugs and both were bug ridden according to some.
  19. The content was definately affected by the platforms it was produced for but it ain't an actual port, but perhaps it is a "port" Depending on how you want to look at it of course, KotORII is going to be made with whatever considerations it is going to be made with anyway.
  20. My bad. Yea probably not something you'd expect to see in Star Wars, I'll stick with Super Weapon type guesses I think heh
  21. I'm indifferent about it really, I still think it's better to keep trying (and is probably expected being a sequel) to write full romances so at least they will have some more experience there, either that or don't do it at all for any games in the future (or near future anyway). KotOR was too short to make it seem meaningful or involving with the way that BioWare wrote it anyway IMO. Plus there is a certain cheese factor that I am constantly aware of
  22. I'm not sure if that is mentioned in the FAQ but since when could anyone rely on people finding information for themselves anyway What do you make of the construction on the 4th Concept Art picture? Dyson Sphere or Ringworld or something ?
  23. That depends on how specific they want to get with what happened and how much of a role Revan has to play. I guess they will have to get creative if Revan ends up having to be a bad guy or a good guy but I think a branch there would be a very nice nod to KotOR. It doesn't seem too bad from where I stand, with the Light path ending looking like it needs more work but who knows ... I think some fudging or vagueness will be hard to avoid.
  24. Hmm, I think I've got one of those in my mail too, didn't bother checking heh Anyway, I hope they have some nice wallpapers made from the very slick concept art
  25. Booth babes in Princess Leia costumes ? Speaking of the music, yes, Korriban was the most athmospheric of the bunch. I couldn't get rid of the feeling, that I was shopping in a supermarket when walking around Ahto city lol, I am gonna die of laughter if I see a "Leia" booth babe with the hair and eveything Now if they had something like Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines booth had before ... TBH I can't think of many tracks of Mr. Soule's of late that I thought were great, liked Bastila's Theme and a few others but I can't remember them off hand, I think one of them was in the credits ... well part of a track in the credits anyway ...
