  1. You do get revan's robes in K1, in the starforge if you're DS. You just don't get the mask. I think that Revan's robes in K1 are far better looking than the robes in K2, they should have based the DS robes more on that kind of design.
  2. The strat guide is bogus. Those Arca Jeth, Aleema Keto robes etc, don't actually exist. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not so fast. Of all the robes you listed, good job by the way, none of them are green like the ones in the screens on the official website. I believe they do exist. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Matukai robes are green. Or one of them is. Put them on a male character and you'll see. I seem to get them every time, always use them, they're always green.
  3. That's not quite true, you can make a couple of basic weapons, which are upgradable. I personally like the random generator, but perhaps it doesn't bother me because I don't care whether I get a specific robe, armor or weapon. In fact, that's why I also like the workbench, as it allows me to mould an upgradable weapon or armor to my own specs, rather than having to rely on buying or finding a specific item. Therein, I think, is the logical relationship between the random loot generator and the workbench. I do however think that, in the interests of appeasing as many people as possible, there should have been a few more set item drops earlier in the game. Dark-side characters are screwed if the random generator doesn't favor them early in the game, whereas regular Jedi robes are a lot easier to come by (ironically, they're even easier to come by as a DS character as you're guarenteed to find them on certain characters).
  4. The save files are about 1600 blocks each, I think. I managed to get somewhere in the region of 200 K2 saves before my HD was full though.
  5. That would be an incredibly valid point, had the initial post been aimed at you. Or had it mentioned you. Or had it been a reply to you. Funnily enough, it was none of the above. I was merely offering up some information and speculation based on my own experiences with the game. It's a similar to your process of spamming the board with your whining, but slightly more constructive. What in the blue hell are you babbling about? That is the most baffling display of "logic" that I've witnessed this week. Let me make sure I understand you, you're saying that if I happen to share someone else's opinion on any given subject then I must be claiming that their opinion is "true"? Are you subnormal? Opinions aren't true or false, they're purely subjective - that's why they are called opinions, not facts. See how that works?
  6. besides the link hades gave you, id suggest you read all threads with a "O" beside it. those have developer comments in them. now while they havent exactly fixed all the things people are complaining about, all you asked was proof of ANYTHING that they were commenting on <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We'll i've read his post and dont see anything refering to to the varity of issues in the game. Aside from the random freezes on my xbox. I just started a LS character only to find out that that most of the self buffing skills are broken and do nothing. Its unaccepatable. The game is being returned tomorrow. Forget Obsidian, there are too many great games out there to be wasting my time on a half ass-ed rushed release. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "waa waa, Obsidian aren't supportive enough, waa *snot bubble* waa, my needs aren't being met" Do you want the entire Obsidian dev team to come over to your house and hold your hand while you play the game? And how the the hell can you feel betrayed, did you think that your $50 purchase was a contract for a lifetime of servitude on behalf of Obsidian? But you're right, they've just cashed the checks and moved on... to finishing the PC version of the game. Grow up, or at least take your foot-stamping and hissy fits to the kindergarten forum. ...and, "self buffing skills"? What the.... All Jedi have immense self-buffing skills, it helps them cope with the ban on nookie.
  7. 1) You are shunned because they think that the Sith will track you to Dantooine and kill them. Vrook says so. They don't really suck your powers away, as you will see in answer 2. 2) They don't strip you of the force, Kreia stops them. You did have your eyes open during the cutscene, right? 3) How did you manage to play the whole game and stil be confused on this issue? You, the exile, use the force by leeching it from others. You channel the force through your companions and through absorbing the life-force of those whom you kill. You are not directly in contact with the force, having cut yourself off from it to survive Malachor 5. You are not an actual Jedi because you were exiled, twice. However with all members of the Jedi Council now dead, the point is somewhat moot.
  8. i believe the guy who played jango (and who they base the accents in the games off of) is from new zealand, not australia. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, that would explain why the clones can't shoot straight at least. And you're right, he's from new zealand. But everyone knows that new zealanders stole their accents from austrailians just to sound cooler. How many new zealanders are there anyway, twelve? And how many mandalorians are there? Lots. See, your theory just doesn't hold water under closer scrutiny. Or something. Besides, Boba Fett in ESB was english, so we can't take that into account. The same guy also plays an alderaan pilot in Ep III, so mandalorians must be austrailian. See?
  9. Ha! Guy Pierce vs. Gary Oldman. I'd greenlight that movie right fecking now.
  10. You be da crazy foo'. I think that Kreia's prophesy is actually a pretty accurate description, and nudge in the ribs, of AOTC. Something about a shell of a man killed all to easily by a Jedi? Sounds like Jango to me. I'd hate to think that we're expected to accept Clone/Stormtroopers as full-fledged Mandalorians, by extension it would mean that Mandalorians are bumbling fools who can't shoot straight. In truth we all know that Mandalorians are drunk most of the time, what with all of them being Austrailian. Isn't that a bizarre coincidence? All Mandalorians being Austrailian, I mean. You never see a French Mandalorian.
  11. That's why those sectional multi-topping pizzas were invented. There's always one Sect which insists on baloney and pineapple, and there is no truer indication of the corrupting influence of the dark side.
  12. "Lucas said this, Lucas said that..." What does George Lucas know? It all happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
  13. TALLER?! Are you crazed, Vin Diesel's a midget! I don't know where they find all these other midget actors to make him look taller in his films.
  14. It's quite a bit darker than orange on my tv. Yellow Green Blue Red Orange Cyan Violet Viridian Bronze Silver I think that's the lot. I'm probably missing an incredibly obvious one though.
  15. Let me make sure I understand this; you have full lightside alignment but your reductions have been reduced, meaning that lightside powers are costing you more force points? Or they're costing you less? It should be the latter. And your universal powers have gained cost. IF both lightside and universal powers are costing more than it did in the previous game I would assume that it's a) a bug or b) because you've chosen to be a Weaponmaster this time and chose something else last time. Most likely option b. If they're just costing more than they did before you picked your prestige class in the same game then I'd assume it's because you switched from Consular to Weaponmaster. Waeponmasters, and Guardians, seem to spend more force points per power, it's this which makes the conceit of differing force affinity between classes work, i.e. masters and consulars have a higher affinity and so they use less force points per power, guardians and such have a lower affinity and so they use more force points per power.
  16. Mind trick? It's one of the force powers, you access it in combat mode, it distracts the opponent. Confusion (the next level of that power) makes the opponent fight for you. Dominate Mind, on the other hand, gives you stronger force persuasion in dialogues.
  17. Operand. And nope, you can use the multiplier twice. I always do this one second and have never had a problem with it. I'll try doing it first next time and see what happens.
  18. MORGAN FREEMAN. I wouldn't mind who was in such a movie, as long as Vin Diesel wasn't.
  19. Maybe he had a map and a compass. Really, finding people through the force is completely over-rated. I mean, you can create planet-sized star destroyers and hyperdrive engines in this galaxy yet no-one thought to invent the phonebook? That's got to be first on the list in any civilized society. What if you need a plumber or an electrician?! Any sort of book would be nice really. How many books have you seen in SW? They don't have book one. Where are all the ****ing books?! How much shorter would Empire Strikes Back be if Luke just went to the library and picked up The Bumper Book Of Jedi Wisdom? Instead he gets his pits sweaty on some crappy planet made entirely of swamp. And what's with the swamps anyway? Yoda's 900 years old and can juggle fighter-ships with his mind but he's never heard of land reclaimation?! The greatest mind of the Jedi Order for a millenium in a hypertechno sci-fi galaxy and he couldn't come up with something that a few stoned dutch people knocked up within minutes of the industrial revolution. He was probably distracted by something shiney.
  20. I think that's actually a reference to Kotor 1, but that's just my guess. As for influence opportunities with Mandalore; they're mainly on Onderon, anything which aids Vaklu should work, there are three or four opportunities to gain influence with him there. Also, on the Ravager, killing Tobin right away rather than talking to him will earn you influence. Returning the two clans to Dxun doesn't seem to gain influence in itself, though there may be influence waiting to be earned in the dialogues with them. I've not paid much attention to it as yet. I've had the most success with Mandalore when playing as a DS, so perhaps there's something to that.
  21. Hmm. If it was up to me: Firstly, I'd have three concurent story arcs which diverge at certain points, giving you the opportunity to control entirely different crews for portions of the game. That should explain some of what follows. Returning Characters: Mandalore - having reunited the Mandalorian clans to an extent, Mandalore would command his army as the Republic's first defense against threats coming from beyond the outer rim. You would be in control of him, leading a small group of Mandalorians into battle(or perhaps fighting an insurgency within the ranks?), for a portion of the game. Revan & Exile - Locating Revan would become your goal about one third into the game, leading you out of the Republic and into the unknown regions. This mission would be prompted by happening upon the Exile, who would give you the lowdown on what occured in Kotor 2. Joining up with Revan, or working against him/her, in the unknown regions would be the final third of the game. Handmaiden - perhaps with a couple of the other crew members from K2 (Visas?), would be running a training enclave and trying to re-establish the Jedi Order. Of course saving the Republic, yet again, from whatever lurks beyond the outer rim would help the Jedi get a foothold and restore their reputation in the Republic once more. HK-47 & T3 - basically the '3PO and R2 of the series, of course they have to come back! Goto - to add a side quest/ new element to the game, I'd contrive that Goto made a copy of his programming on the Ebon Hawk prior to the end of K2. You would discover this and, with the use of parts bought at various vendors throughout the game, construct a new 'bot to your own specifications for Goto to inhabit. Bastilla - perhaps a better catalyst for the hunt for Revan would be meeting up with Bastilla rather than the Exile. Yes, screw the Exile, Bastila should become a member of your crew once you leave the Republic. Off the top of my head I cannot think of any more viable returning characters who would have enough of a stake in the story to make them worthwhile party members. I'd have cameos for the Carths and Jolees of the series, but I'd want all new characters to round out the party. Incidentally, I'd start the player's character out as a full-fledged Jedi Knight this time, working for the new Jedi Order. Two reasons; 1) It gives you an excuse to make the "first act" of the game the familiar planet-hopping feel of the previous games without jumping right into the story, you could justifiably reuse the planets that we already know for this section. 2) As the first member of your crew you should have a Padawan of your very own. You would choose from three possible candidates; a devout lightsider(eventual WeaponMaster/Maurader), a neutral(eventual Watchman/Assassin), and an apprentice on the slippery slope towards the darkside(eventual Master/Sith Lord). This would allow for replay value, an interesting inter-character dynamic dependant on your choice, AND the ability to make the initial "tutorial" levels more interesting by making the player the teacher rather than the student, with your instruction affecting the alignment of the Padawan.
  22. I'll go easy on you this one time because I'm well aware of the fact that most American adults have a 4th Grade reading comprehension level, here goes; If you'd read and understood my post you'd have saved yourself some rambling, I'll break down the part you were referring to in the hopes that it's easier for you to understand: 1) A few bugs are widely reported 2) I haven't come across these bugs in normal play 3) I have, however, experienced them when using modded saves* and exploits * modded saves are those that you can find online and use through an action replay. They don't require modded 'boxes to use them. Now, I didn't claim that horrendous bugs and mods/exploits are mutually exclusive, only that in my experience the bugs haven't occurred for me during normal play. On to your complaints, for which I have some sympathy (in other words, what follows is my attempt to be helpful and gather information); 1) Random crashes and lock-ups can often be the fault of the hardware rather than the software. If you'd care to lay out the circumstances under which they occur for you then perhaps we can all contribute such information and isolate the problem. For example, I've found that the game commonly freezes on me during the battle for Telos, just after Visas says "I'd have it no other way" - when the game should switch to the party selection screen. I've only had this happen during extended play or when the xbox has been in use for a long period of time, so I'm assuming that the problem is probably cpu lag or similar. 2) Missing dialogues and skipped cutscenes - can you explain this further? A lot of the dialogue choices are contextual and some of the cutscenes occur at different times in each game (specifically those involving your crew on the EH). If you're finding that dialogue choices that appear on the Ebon Hawk are missing when of the Hawk, that is normal, not a bug. Planetside dialogue choices are trimmed down somewhat, depending on the character. Also, some dialogue choices are dependant on your rating in certain skills or progress through the game, or your alignment, or influence level with the npc. As I said, if you could explain the circumstances further perhaps we can get to the root of the problem. As for cutscenes, are you talking about quest-based scenes? The only one that I've heard of people having problems with is the Visquis message on Nar Shaddaa, and I think that problem may be related to the airspeeder (ie not triggering the passing points between areas, I'm still trying to find out if that's accurate. ) 3) The battle system is definately unpredictable, I'll hand that one to you on a silver platter. Again I'm not certain that's a glitch per se, but the fault of the system itself. The system can be manipulated into launching multiple attacks per round, mainly when selecting attacks from different catagories (eg, a physical attack and a force attack, or an attacking force selection and a defensive/healing one - and you can always go into the menu and use an item during a round). It's certainly a flaw, and probably the result of the battle system overhaul. Whether it's gone unnoticed by the devs or it's been left that way intentionally is information that we don't have. Also, it's (intentionally) possible to increase your attacks per round by selecting certain feats/powers, and perhaps you're experienceing a bug related to that? It's not something that I've seen happen if your description of combined attacks (both occuring simultainiously) is accurate, so I wouldn't like to guess at why it happens. If you could expand on any of the problems you've encountered (context, frequency, circumstances), or if anyone else who has experienced these problems can do the same, we could conceivably figure out what goes wrong where and why. Could prove to be a useful exercise.
  23. Ah, there's Epiphany's usual contribution. Everyone should take Epiphany's posts to heart, memorize every last pearl of wisdom and repeat it by rote - anything else would just be fanboy idiocy. Watch closely, because one day Epiphany might actually post some genuine proof of the millions of glitches and bugs in Kotor 2, thus enabling us to check his factual accuracy and commend him - or at least allowing us to take him semi-seriously, instead of having to assume that he's a froth-mouthed, rabid, pituitary case. I must say that I agree with Kalfear to an extent. Having played through about 9 or 10 times so far, I haven't experienced any major bug or game-ending glitch. I've had the game freeze on me, which I can correctly attribute to the fact that my 'box is running 12 or more hours a day - the same freezes occur while playing other games or watching dvds, and they never happen to Kotor 2 any earlier or more often than with anything else. However, there probably are a handfull of glitches or a few bugs in the game. That's normal. I know of one minor inventory glitch which occurs exclusively with the Handmaiden and which rights itself(!) soon after happening - but it has no effect on the game. Little things like that occur in every game, usually much bigger things too, and no-one cares. Also, I've checked out the effects of using modded save games and the one well-known exploit and have found that certain "bugs" commonly occur when messing with the game in that way; such as the problem with T3 being uncontrollable on Peragus, complete crashes when loading screens are triggered, problems with the inventory, defense bonuses, etc. These are commonly reported problems yet I have found them to occur only when using saves/exploits. I know that I have the same code on my disc as everyone else has on theirs, so I find it difficult to believe that my game can run perfectly well while other people's games are snowed under by bugs. The really major complaints that I've noticed on this board deal with purely conceptual "problems"; how certain characters are used, this npc's personality, that npc's story, etc. The fact of the matter is that you can't please everyone, every choice is going to be unpopular with at least one other person. Sadly, the internet is where the loud-mouthed and ignorant tend to make their voices heard most clearly, regardless of how much of a minority view they hold (point of reference; it takes more than you and your three friends to count as a majority. It's just a rule of thumb, but certain posters could benefit from taking notice.), hence most boards dedicated to a game, a movie, a band, or any other form of subjective entertainment tend to become overwhelmingly negative unless they're well monitored and thoroughly weeded. As for the initial poster, who is "in college" and "knows about business people", might I ask if you're actually in "community college" and whether you might not actually know any flesh and blood "business people"? I'd expect a business student at any reputable college to be able to look at the box of the game and quickly discern who the financial force behind the game was and, by extention, who is calling the shots with regards to this franchise. I am, personally, getting a little tired of people not being able to tell the difference between Lucasarts and Obsidian, and the responsibilities each one had/has in the development of the game.
  24. Wow, you've just completely nailed the whole concept of marketing! CONGRATULATIONS! I have to wonder about the average IQ of the posters here when they start complaining about commercials. Nihilus is on the posters, Nihilus is in the game. What is your problem? Does the ad say "featuring Darth Nihilus, the most awesomest hardest badassesest coolnessest hardcoresest Sith mofo of all freakin' time!" NO. If that's the ASSUMPTION you leaped to based on the publicity for the game then, HA-HA, you're just another gullible consumer gimp. A marketing monkey's wet dream. The kind of person who likes Vin Diesel movies. And, a small point that seems to escape the grasp of just about everyone, OBSIDIAN JUST MADE THE GAME. If you don't like the way it's been advertised, or the picture on the insert, or the feel of the plastic case, or the shape of the dvd, then perhaps you should complain to those who are actually responsible for those things.
  25. I had this problem yesterday. I don't think it's related to side quests at all, I had done absolutely everything there was to do. I found that the Visquis message eventually triggered when I was about to walk back into the Refugee Sector from the landing pad. Try changing areas a few times and see if that helps. I think that the problem could be related to using the airspeeder to change zones, as it never seems to occur for me when I go everywhere on foot. Can anyone verify/shoot that theory down for me?
