No, you're not missing anything. You're supposed to spend the rest of your life trapped in the acadamy on Korriban. Look around. Use the computers. All will become clear.

Does This Make The Exile Stronger Then Revan?
HK-74 replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I agree. Kreia was a little too easy to see through, and I would dearly love to have been able to kick people out of my party. I think that, given enough dev time, it would be excellent to be able to remove people from your party. If there was a pool of 20 or so characters who could join you and only 12 slots to put them in, it would add much more depth to these games. And, the added bonus of being able to get rid of characters like Kreia who have a shelf life of about 20 minutes. -
Here's a thought though; The Basilisk in the game is known to be lacking it's weapons systems and other parts. Perhaps the arms/tail are meant to be missing? I know it still wouldn't look the same if you added them, but it's a consideration. Also, you're right about Canderous' descriptions. They do seem as though he's describing a machine more similar to the Basilisk in the picture. Of course, those descriptions were in Kotor 1, prior to Obsidian's design

Does This Make The Exile Stronger Then Revan?
HK-74 replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't recall Kreia saying that. She does say, quite distinctly, that Revan and the Exile's powers are "different". She may even say that the Exile is her greatest student, but again that isn't the same thing as being "more powerful than Revan". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> also, kreia is high on the exile because he possesses that "power" (or whatever you want to call being a "wound" in the force) that kreia wants to take advantage of to destroy the jedi and the force in general. so for her needs, the exile is more "powerful", but that doesnt necessarily imply overall power. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. Kreia is the most conflicted character in the game. On one hand she wants to use you to destroy the force, yet she also wants you to prove that you're her greatest apprentice by killing her. She tells you at the start of the game that Traya is one of the Sith Lords who must be stopped. Does anyone else find it ironic that regardless of whether you choose to play light or dark you still follow the path of a Sith Apprentice in effect, as your final objective is to kill your master? -
Oh good God, the Basilisk in the game looks so much better. Where is the picture from? That Basilisk wouldn't be any use in the game, as you use it for interplanetary travel. On that monstrosity you'd be burned to a crisp. I'd definately go with Obsidian's version any day. It's far more aesthetically pleasing.

You'll notice that everyone in the game that you speak to about force bonds has never heard of them being lethal, yet Kreia says it as though it were law. It's just a tactic to get you to follow her to Malachor 5. Atris tells you that if you don't go after Kreia she will kill herself at the heart of the planet, thus killing you too.

Well, there's the answer to your question You figured it out for yourself!

I think they'd get out of it by saying "Kotor II is 4000 years before the material that you're quoting, Sadow could have been moved since " Besides, all SW material outside of the movies - hell, including the movies - is suposed to be treated more as folklore than fact, I think.

Disciple & Darkside -- Am I Missing Something?
HK-74 replied to Scott Heine's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I, too, found that I turned Disciple into a Jedi without even trying in my first play through, as a horridly light-sided goody-two-shoes. When I play as a darkside female I just cannot turn him at all no matter how much influence I have. By the same token, turning the Handmaiden seems very difficult as a darkside male so perhaps there's an alignment conditional on their ability to be Jedized. -
Does This Make The Exile Stronger Then Revan?
HK-74 replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This is a silly discussion but I cannot resist contributing: Revan and the Exile seem to have a parallel power in the force through different means. Revan inspires and enslaves minds through the force, the Exile seems to achieve the same thing in order to connect to the force. Revan achieved it on a much larger scale though, so it becomes a question of how you measure power. Before you think about that though, it's better to question why you're measuring the power of imaginary people to begin with. -
1 - Romance is stunted in Kotor II. Good thing too. There is no flesh grinding to be had with Atton, or anyone else for that matter. 2- The "not a trap" line occurs after the Visquis holomessage on Nar Shadaa. It occurs no matter what, but if you have Disciple or Handmaiden in the party then there's a little punchline added. 3- If you decide to kill Tobin within two or three dialogues, Mandalore will say that he had it coming and you wil gain influence. 4 - To get into GoTo's dialogues you need to successfully examine the pazaak droid and the swoop droid, and complete the Bith Scientist mission - all are found on Nar Shadaa. Also, remember that GoTo is hardwired to protect the Republic. Bare that in mind when selecting dialogue options. 5 - In the Dxun mission, three of your team have to go into battle without you. The reason that they "feel different" or "don't want to talk about it" is because they had to fight and KILL while not under your influence. There is no real payoff to this development, other than the dialogue with Kreia about being a leader. 6 - The fuel mission seems to be incomplete.
-
Oh dear, are you debating the factual accuracy of a videogame? And basing your argument on a hack EU story? You may want to delete this thread, in the interests of ever getting laid again.
-
If that mission should be completed for the PC release, I think I'll be buying Kotor II all over again.

Hk's rifle? I'm not aware of an HK specific rifle existing in Kotor II. The fuel mission seems incomplete. You can remove it from your journal by talking to Vogga the Hutt after the GoTo Yacht mission, but if you speak to GoTo he reccomends against dealing with Vogga as it would bankrupt the Republic. Either way, neither option seems to have any real effect in the game.

1 - The Sith were not trying to bring back Nadd. They were using Nadd's tomb as a venue for the ritual which held control over the Dxun beasts that they were using on Onderon. They sought to benefit from the power of the tomb, not revive the inhabitant. 2 - Having never seen a Basilisk War Droid parked at Wal*Mart, I cannot verify this point. 3 - The tomb of Naga Sadow can be found on Korriban, in the lower right corner of the Valley of The Dark Lords. 4 - It's an easter egg. Weapons and armor have no plot significance, the names and descriptions are for titillation only. 5 - The Valley is in both Kotors, and plays a much more important part in the first game. I thought it was somewhat contrived too but then I realized that I was playing a videogame and quickly got over it.

If anyone could point me to the exact piece of dialogue which clarifies that Revan controlled only a portion of the Republic fleet I'd be most grateful. I've played through both Kotor games numerous times and so far I'm under the impression that Revan was given control of the entire Republic fleet, or at least the entire number of the fleet which was sent to fend off the Mandalorians. How much of that fleet disappeared with him is another matter entirely. As for the General/Admiral question, I think that we can assume that the Exile was granted the title, or at least the position, of General. From that we can extrapolate that the Jedi who worked with the Republic during the Mandalorian Wars were given the titles that went with their positions. Therefore, Revan would certainly have held the rank of Admiral. This is a different situation from Bastilla's, as Bastilla was given one ship and a crew - presumably to keep her Battle Meditation mobile at all times for the Republic's benefit. Bastilla was aiding the Republic on the Jedi Council's behalf, not working for the Republic as Revan's Jedi were.
