  1. Honestly? Stating they'd not only make an expansion but give it to you as a reward tier was a friggin' risky (and really stupid) move. I don't think I understood you since I didn't say they should give me anything for free. What I said and meant was that I would like them to keep doing expansions and / or sequels for the game. You even quoted me saying that they already charged for the expansion.
  2. Let us not forget that they already charged for the expansion. So it's not free and I expect at least 15 hours out of it.
  3. I would rather have the whole expansion to play begin to end at once. Dont like the chapter/part decision. I played The Dream Machine chapters 1 - 4 (out of 6) and when I started playing the fith chapter (released a long time after) I realized that I didnt remember things I needed to play chapter 5. If they go with the part thing I will wait to have everything before playing.
  4. WoW first expansion came 3 years after release Second expansion 4 Third 6 years Fourth 8 years and so on Half Life First expansion came 1 year after release 2 came 3 years Everquest First expansion came one year after release....and they kept releasing 2 expansions per year for a long time Destiny's first expansion came only 3 months after release. Skyrim released expansions for consoles every 6 months and every year for PC So I wouldn't hold my breath before 6 months.
  5. How about a romance similar to Valeria & Conan? Seeing how you're a fan of the Riddle of Steel. hahahah then we are talking Nah..seriously...no.
  6. No romance please. At all. No. For those wanting a relationship that matters in the game, then make something terrible to a well designed companion. One companion the majority likes. GoT style. Or if you do romance throw in some sex like in Mass Effect. That was the only reason to do romance in Mass Effect....
  7. ... I reached level 9 before talking to the duc (the hearings that lead to act II) in a game made since 1.05 doing everything I could before moving on. I reached level 12 right after act 2 by doing the bounties as my first order of business followed by wrapping up the companion's quests and small jobs. If you are only supposed to hit 12 near the very end, it is not quite right yet. I don't think they should limit level 12 just when you reach act 4 because act 3 is too short. Almost blends to act 4 altogetther. If they want to do that they need to remove lots of xp from quests or move quests around to fill act 3 with meat. The difficulty you face depends largely on what you do and when you do it. I did the stronghold dungeon right after I got it and when things turned too difficult I went back to the main/side quests. After a while doing them I would go back to the dungeon again, Doing that I had only 2 difficult encounters: Adra Dragon and Thaos.
  8. I dont think so. I used dragon meat on my last fight, and I think that if it did it would have run out of time before the fight started. Also, it's possible to stack food benefits. You can eat various foods since they are consumed instantly. I put a food item on one slot for all 6 chars, paused the game, used them, unpaused for the item to be consumed and paused again since you can add items to the quick slots without unpausing. And consumed more food again. Food is the pre buffing system in POE, too bad it took me to the very end to realize it.
  9. Can I play PotD on any difficulty level? POTD *is* a difficulty level. You can play it "not hardcore" so that you can save and reload the game. You can play it with the nice features turned on, like "anywhere stash". POTD does 2 major things: it locks your difficulty so you can't set it to easy for boss fights, then back to POTD for trash. And, it ups the difficulty in 3 ways: first, every fight will have MORE enemy, every enemy will have higher stats (harder to hit them, and they will hit YOU easier), and every fight will have possibly tougher enemy (example, instead of a basic skuldur you get a skuldur king, or instead of a bear, you get an elder bear, or something). Also, you can't carry as many camping supplies on POTD, I think it limits you to 2 at a time. Ok thanks a lot for your explanation. I finished the game on hard mode, thought it was hard at the beginning (as a wizard) and easy towards the end. Overall no sweat besides the Thaos and Adra Dragon fights. Doesn't PotD make those fights really hard? Also, I took a look at the barbarian and rogue abbilities and they seem awesome. Are they passive?
  10. Can I play PotD on any difficulty level? Sorry, I got it messed up with Trial of Iron.
  11. I played as a wizard on hard mode. My wizard + Aloth rocked with AoE spells. Specially when there were more enemies. Durance healing spells are good and kept me going many times. Durance also has a party shock shield spell (Spark the Souls of the Righteous ) which is amazing!
  12. I also I would just get rid of the enchantment system and make the unique items better but if it's here to stay I think the enchantments should be available only for "magical" items with already special attributes and enchanting should be more expensive. So you would only spend money on items that really mattered to make them even better. For this to work money should be more restrict in the game as well. In the end game I had around 50k. A friend got 100k. Thats because I upgraded the whole Stronghold, enchanted and crafted and bought LOTS of stuff.
  13. Hi all, I just finished the game on 1.04 patch playing as a wizard (love them) on hard. I love the game! It took me 105 hours to complete. I did lots of sidequests, the bounties, the 15 levels of the Stronghold, all the companion quests etc. Now for my second playthrough I would like suggestions of what builds to play. While I played the game I was between the Ranger and the Wizard but when I got the Ranger companion I didn't like it. It felt boring.Don't know if it had the wrong/boring abillities that made it feel like that. My point is, I like to micromanage during fights, I dont like to just look at Endurance levels and drink a potion now and then. That being said, what do you suggest? Also, someone played with a whole player created party? (no companions) If that's the case, what classes did you use/mixed? And if I create, lets say, the whole party, if I start a new game, will those "adventurers" be available to play as the main character? Can I choose them? Thanks
  14. Because it changes a lot of spells, scrolls etc. and it could kill a strategy I use for example. I finished the game then updated . I used the same strategy people use in the Adra Dragon fight, and it made the end fight a breeze. Now I wanna play my second round
  15. I understand the need to feel powerful as something that adds fun. I totally agree. But the way POE is now, it's not fun because only two fights pose a threat in hard mode (the adra dragon and thaos). The level up scale can be made in a way you still feel powerful because you are now facing more enemies or a more powerful one and the fight would feel strategic,"difficult", rewarding. For me the fun ends when there's no challenge anymore. Being able to get past hords of enemies is fun at the beginning, but after a while it leads to boredom. I want to feel like I felt playing BG 2 where the battles were very strategic and I feel POE mechanics are better for that, they just didn't nail it yet.
  16. The answer to balance the combat is to balance it per level. If the player reaches a certain combat at level 4 then there will be say 5 enemies....if it's at level 9 then these same enemies gear/armor/stats will be upgraded or more enemies trown at the player like 12-13 enemies instead of 5.
  17. Loved the idea some pointed out about having the Dragon Hunter (with or without the Dragon's soul) return in a expansion as a companion or quest giver. Amazing idea! i will just keep 2 save games...one siding with the dragon and one that I don't.
  18. Haha, lets make an isometric COD. With assault rifles and all. Jokes aside, guns came late in the Middle Ages which range from the 5th til the 15th century. The first gun appeared in the 13th and imo guns and magic don't mix in a medieval setting. For guns and magic Shadowrun is a better setting, but that's just me.
  19. I think the cost is alright, maybe just bump up the time for the repairs to complete. Losing money to bandits in walled towered patrolled city bothers me a lot as well, I end up losing more money than making. Maybe its related to the game Acts, I'm still in Act II. Maybe adding trade even if it's an NPC saying things like "M'lord, I came all the way from Gilded Vale to see your library/store/forum" Better prices/items in the stores in the stronghold. More commoners walking by. Make the thing look alive.
  20. Guns don't break immersion; it's your fantasy gaming expectations that break the immersion. Take a look at the history: guns were available for use in Europe by the 13th century. So is everything in life: expectations vs reality. Don't like mixing magic and guns...for me they shouldnt be mixed. Maybe an option to toggle them on and off then
  21. I didn't finish it yet...60 hours +-. So far I think the Enchant System needs to go to make the unique weapons/armors (the ones with names and stories) look better. IMO the StrongHold should be available only in the late game, it feels really weird a noobie owning a castle, specially when you did nothing impressive.. And it doesn't fit in the story...it's disconnected. The Chanter class sucks or at least Kana does. I would love more NPCs and more interaction between them. I would make the guns go as well, it takes the immersion out.The art of the game ROCKS!
  22. Hi all, Even with my stronghold fully guarded (8/8) and most of those guarding it giving more bonus to security than prestige I still lose money to bandits. How does this reward/theft relationship works? Note that my stronghold is not fully upgraded (Almost). How can you optimize this? Thanks
