  1. Speaking of tomorrow, are we going to play again?
  2. Hey that's my ship!
  3. Drabs gets my vote too!!
  4. Good for you Jim. There is always more work out there, so don't worry too much about finding another job. Here's hoping your next work experience isn't so negative.
  5. We're In!!!!!!. Give your team a little punch on the shoulder from me Hurlshot!! Usually there are about a dozen or so odd posters online at the Oilers forums. Tonight there are over a hundred. Nine threads have popped up with 'Playoff Bound' and 'We're in!' in the last hour. Its funny because every topic three days ago was 'fire the coach' and 'bench this player'. I guess that's what happens when your team decides to give you a few coronaries in the last four games of the season. I'm going to sleep happy tonight. edit: OOOOOOoooooooohhhhhhhhh....Detroit or Dallas? I guess I know where most of you sit on this subject <_<
  6. Because we're dense? I honestly have been trying to come up with an answer for you Commie. Maybe it's because the island seems to be a crash magnet? I guess Henry has been painting the impression that he wasn't always an 'other' , but then he's been pretty much full of **** from the getgo, so who knows? Plus you have to wonder how long DI has been stealing children. I mean French chicks' supposed daughter seemed to be willing to help Claire. As to her role in what DI has been trying to do on the island, we can't be sure if she's one of them or just a prisoner. Maybe all the people the Others abduct are put to work in a slave mine farming nanites for all we know.
  7. Well Edmonton pulled off a huge victory tonight. 2-1 over the Ducks in regulation. If San Jose can hold up their end of the bargain ( well, my bargain at least) and hold off Vancouver for another eight minutes, the Oil will get that elusive final playoff spot in the west. Go Sharks?
  8. What a matchup between Vancouver and San Jose tonight. Although I'm pissed that the Canucks picked up a point I'm relieved they didn't get two. That was a nailbiter of a game. First it was Vancouver up by two, then tied, then the lead was traded back and forth until Scott Hannan tied it up with about four minutes left in regulation. And a quick overtime goal ended my near coronary.. Is the rematch tomorrow? Hopefully I won't miss too much of it watching the Oilers / Anaheim game.
  9. I think I'll leave my two cents in my pocket on this topic "
  10. LOL
  11. I blame Ferguson junior. And also don't care.
  12. I just picked up my copy of Freelancer from EB games. As soon as I'm done eating I plan on installing it and destroying enemy ships. And other fun space related stuff. Should I be a smuggler or become a merchant? Sounds like smuggling for teh win to me.
  13. All I can say is ****. That and I'm glad I picked Sundin in my pool . Edmonton seems to be doing a really good job of making it harder for themselves to stay in the top eight. I'm really glad I didn't shell out the eleven bucks just to tape the game and watch it now. And that was quite the comeback for TO.
  14. here Meta
  15. Hurlshot I like my crow medium well. And with a side of rice and peas. Actually I flipped between both western games tonight. San Jose had those two really quick goals that the 'Yotes couldn't bounce back from. Nice work for Cheechoo to nail 51 goals. Hopefully the Canucks won't eliminate the Oilers during the last game of the season, like they did before the lockout. And I'm going to miss tomorrows' Edm-Detroit tilt because of work. That sucks. Oiler fans that cheer for Calgary aren't really Oiler fans. They are flip floppy Alberta fans, who probably want King Ralph ousted as well.
  16. See, now, whenever I try to do that I have the sudden urge to stick my head into one of those deep friers that they use to make all the greasy stuff at restaurants. Actually I wanted to cheer for the Leafs one year since I had Sundin and Roberts in a pool team. But then I actually watched a few of their games and just couldn't do it. It felt like watching Calgary play, only more wrong. Although I have to admit Sundin, barring injury, is a consistant point producer and I've had in all of my pools. "
  17. And I see Lucky Luc Robataille is deciding to hang up his skates at the end of the season for good. Although he is by far the worst pick in my hockey pool next to the younger Ruutu brother, the Lord of the Left Wing still has had a great career. Hopefully his announcement will lead to management being forced to play him and not make him a healthy scratch for the last few games of the season. Plus he swore in Sudden Death! The Coyotes are 6 for their last seven against San Jose. Smells like the Oilers and Wild to me. And I predict a three point game between Anaheim and Vancouver. Because that would make things even harder for the Oilers. But I'm still clinging to hope, dammit, because that's all I have right now.
  18. If by that you mean the last half dozen games of the season are going to drive me crazy, then yes, you're correct. Although Nashville is nearly secure in their spot something tells me they are in for another first round exit.
  19. Even your mighty Sharks aren't secure either Hurly. If they lose the two games to Vancouver, add in the loss to the Coyotes tonight and you could be whistling a different tune by the time the weekend comes. Don't mind me, I'm always bitter when half of my team shows up for a game and the other half sticks their fingers up each other's asses.
  20. If the Oilers don't make the playoffs they will have nobody to blame but themselves ( and maybe a video goal judge). Last night the team played horribly for the first fifty minutes of the game and then magically woke up for the final ten. Honestly it was the worst performance of the team since the seven game losing streak earlier in the season. Color me unimpressed. A lot of stupid penalties in all three periods, little or no physical play, and our best line was the Mike Peca/ Radek Dvorak / Ethan Moreau line. Edmonton is so ****ed right now.
  21. I just wish I was in St.Louis so I could grab Al MacInnes' sweater and hang it on the roof myself. Just get on with it already!! Actually I have nothing but respect for Mr.break-your-nose-with-my-slaphot-if-you're-fool-enough-to-get-in-it's-way. Yes!!! It's finally going up! Now hopefully a hockey game can start. Why would a team wait until the last week of the season to retire a number anyway?
  22. C'mon Kaftan, why don't you post a few pages of LOEG for us? "
  23. Man, it's like the entire western conference has it out for the Oilers right now. Two game winning goals dissallowed in two nights, plus every team above and below them has games in hand and won't lose. 10 days of hockey left in the regular season. 10 days!!! Although my thirty point lead in my hockey pool has dwindled to 26, I'm still confident I'll take home teh loot. And if I do, I'll buy the first two rounds of drinks for all mah homies in the NHL thread. And somebody mark the date down. I'm rooting for the Flames to beat Vancouver tonight, although if Kipper got horribly injured I wouldn't shed too many tears. edit: It's just about time to dust off my Chicago Cubs avatars. Derrek Lee for MVP!!!
  24. Hey , I liked Nirvana for the exact opposite reason. Anybody who practiced for more than a half an hour could play their songs on guitar once they had that tuned-down-half-a-step-thing going on. Talking Heads - Road To Nowhere
  25. I think the NHL should cut a couple of lawyers from their payroll and invest in some new video equipment. Or maybe a sensor inside the puck that lets you know if it's over the line. Again , tonight Edmonton lost out to the home team on a video review. I won't argue whether or not the call was right, but two games in two nights with shaky calls means there is kind of a credibility issue here. But on the same note Edmonton scored again on the next shift. If Alan was here I'd post Fernando Pisani in giant type, but since he's not... And it was Fernando who would have had his second if the video review had been conclusive. Although it would be nice to talk about first round matchups something tells me we won't have a solid idea until the very last whistle to end the last game of the regular season to find out. You guys and your Dallas/Edmonton fixation. Geez.
