Tanguay slipped even more so playing with Tampa Bay last year. And hey, if any NHL GMs are reading this thread, please feel free to pluck Sheldon Souray off the waiver wire.

NHL
It just doesn't make sense to me why Calgary would ditch Jokinen and Tanguay and then resign them. Neither one had stellar seasons with the Flames last time around. I like the moves the Oilers made. Two different types of defencemen: a rugged stay at home guy in Jim Vandermeer, and an decent offensive d-man in Kurtis Foster. Now trade Souray for a draft pick to offset the salary. If only they could be so lucky.

Holy free agent bonanza, Batman! Lol at Calgary!!

I'm sorry, but this thread does not deliver.

I saw that tonight. My lowered expectations might have helped, but my friends and I really enjoyed it. "My house is going to look like a werewolf" Lollercoasters!

Ask Monte
Dear MC: I recently upgraded my golf clubs. Yet while using them I seem to slice the ball 98% of the time. What can I do to hit the ball straight?

What you did today
I had some blood work done this morning, then an x-ray done right after. I'm glad this fasting crap is over with. Currently I'm sitting at a pizza buffet, making up for twelve hours of not ingesting anything.

I liked Toy Story 3 as well. I have no memory of seeing the sequel, however.

I just hope there isn't a ton of William Bell in season two. I've never been fond of the actor that plays him, even more so now that he's ancient.

Just finishing up season one of Fringe. I'm quite enjoying this show so far.

NHL
Its good to see some moves being made leading up to the draft. Arnott goes back to the Devils, and Horton goes to the Bruins. And Pat Quinn is done coaching the Oilers after a season. Sadly, he didn't have a lot to work with. I wonder who Edmonton is going to pick on Friday?

Congrats on making it through high school, Krook. I'm going golfing this morning, although it poured like a mofo last night.

What you did today
I stopped by my condo tonight only to find the front door locks changed, with no notice of any sort posted. Color me unimpressed. I also tackled some personal demons and had a checkup at the doctors office today. I think the last time I went to see a doctor was close to a decade ago. I'm somewhat relieved to find out he's a pretty decent guy. Next week I get to go get some bloodwork done, and also an x-ray of my wounded shoulder, which I injured close to 20 years ago and never bothered to get it checked out. Spiffy!

A sad announcement
Very sad news indeed.

NHL
Not that I watched much of this years playoffs, but I wouldn't have minded Philly forcing game seven. I'm sure Chicago is happy for the win, obviously, but it would have much cooler if they won it on their home turf.

No, YOU, are!

What you did today
It's finally starting to feel like I'm getting somewhere cleaning out my condo. My teevee / computer stand is what's going to be coming down next. Most of my closets and cupboards are bare. It's a slightly nostalgic occasion.

360 Revival Thread
Sorry for reviving a dead thread, but I'm on the verge of unhooking my xbox from the internet, probably permanently. As such, I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to those of you I've gamed with online. And that even means you, Llyranor! I'll miss the days of late night / early morning / afternoon gaming sessions with you guys. It's been a hoot. I'm also sorry thepixiesrock could never connect to us, and that Jags still hasn't fixed his 360 yet. This meatshield is no longer for hire, I guess...

What you did today
I like my parents house. Sure, its about a ten minute drive out of town, but it's a decent sized house with all the amenities. They even have 'high speed' internet now, although I've used their computer before, and I'll be the first to admit its anything but. It looks like my days of playing on xbox live are pretty much over. Moving in with your parents is never cool, but I'm looking at the whole situation as taking a step backward in order to take two steps forward.

What you did today
Did I miss something? Are you moving? Come to New Jersey. What? He should come to California. You can stay in my RV. I'm moving back into my parents house while I get my condo renovated then I'm putting it up for sale. After that, it's going to be time to buy a house for me and the missus and her kids. Living with my folk might be stressful, but I don't figure I'll be around that much. Plus, I don't have to pay for anything. It'll be a great way to pay off some debts and save up some money, right before I take out one of those nice, big, fat, juicy thirty year mortgages.

That sounds about right. I've been in my current place for more than a decade.

LOST season six
Well, that was an ending. From what I've read in this thread, I think a few of you aren't going to be happy with it. Me, myself, quite enjoyed it. Instead of spending two and a half hours getting answers to questions from the past, it focused on the here and now for the characters we've watched grow for six years. And, since it is LOST, you're still left scratching your head. That's probably how it should be. It's been an interesting ride, that's for sure.
