Jebus, Drabs, are you writing an essay? The Music - I know **** about this band except that I really like this song.

Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline I had to go back to work today after having two weeks off. Dreading it I was, to be honest, but the first tune I heard over the PA was good ol' Neil, like the bugger was welcoming me back.

NHL
That's it. I'm officially declaring Tuomo Ruutu a bust. Three games into the preseason and he's already going to be out for a month. Granted, from this report it doesn't sound like it's really his own fault, but despite young mr.Ruutu's obvious talents it doesn't look like he'll ever be healthy long enough to reap the benefits of him. Although the number of injuries that have occured so far before the season even starts has me a bit worried. I can't pick Jagr in my hockey pool since he's not really recovered from his shoulder surgery. Bertuzzi's ribs bothering him is not a good sign either. Now we just need Pronger to break his ankle...

Cartoons
If there was a cartoon on that involved some sort of cape, superpower or weapon I was watching it. From Thundarr the Barbarian to Super Friends to GIJoe to Hercules. It's too bad the rose colored glasses of youth can't make these shows good any more. This morning I did manage to watch the first episode of the new Legion Of Superheros cartoon. Although not great, I thought it was better than some of the tripe they play for kids nowadays, like Shaolin Showdown or Lunatics:Unleashed.

Damn! That was pretty good Drabs. Both versions. I kind of lost track of where Live With Me ended and Where Did You Sleep started. Then the second clip kind of hypnotized me for a minute or five. Soul Asylum - It's too bad Dave Pirner never became as cool as he thought he was. He did manage to bag Winona Ryder, however.

Obsidian just got little bit more awesome.

That was the whole schtick for their third album, 'check your head'. I quite enjoyed it, although Paul's Boutique will always remain my favorite Beastie Boys album. I can remember the promos for their next lp. Mike D got on Much Music and flat out said " We made no new musical headway on this album". It was teh funneh. They Might Be Giants - Birdhouse In Your Soul- The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
The Beastie Boys - Live At PJs I can remember when this episode aired back in the day. Apparantley the BB spazzed on one of the interns. So throught the hour long show Dave kept saying they didn't want 'any trouble' from the band.- The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
Let's have a nice nineties retro weekend in here, shall we? I'll kick things off with Primal Scream - Damaged It's not quite their usual hippy drugged up dance track, but maybe thats' what good about it.- The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
Better late than never, Laozi Bloc Party - Like Eating Glass- NHL
Poor, poor Roberto Luongo. Letting in a goal on his first shot against him in a Vancouver game. That sounds like something of Conklin-esque proportions. And the Flames lost to the Oiler rookies tonight. Sweet!- NHL
Hey, don't leave out Brent Seabrook. He's going to be quite the blue chip defenceman in a few years.- NHL
Ouch, looks like a tough start to an NHL career is in the picture for Evengi Malkin after doing a faceplant after colliding with teammate John Lecair tonight. On the plus side, however, it looks like my main man Sergei Gonchar is as sharp as ever!- Movies You Have Seen Lately
The Proposition with Guy Pearce. Decent flick with some wicked shots of the Australian outback. Plus Nick Cave wrote the screenplay.- The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
Don't take my dismissal too personally. I've been jonesing to the guitar parts in this song for the last ten minutes- NHL
I keed, Delta, I keed. I can't help it if the Flames are open to homosexual parody. :D As for tickets, I haven't looked into any for this season, but towards the tail end of last year my friends and I tried to score some seats for a matchup against the Canucks. The best we could find online a month before the game was standing room only. After last seasons Stanley Cup run I can't see tracking down tickets getting any easier. Didn't Air Miles used to have Flames tickets as a reward?- The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
that tells me all I need to know about that band Crowded House -- The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
Well set the record straight, Draken, are RBF a bunch of newfies who don't know how to rawk as well? Pete Yorn - For Nancy (Cos it already is)- The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
I always get Reel Big Fish confused with Great Big Sea, who totally suck. Louis XIV - Pledge Of Allegiance- Lego Star Wars II
And yet on page four of the manual it says: "play anyone and everyone, anytime, anywhere". Whatever you say, Microsoft.- Anyone seen these shows?
The pilot for a new series featuring Ray Liotta called Smith was on last night. It tells the story of a master theif who leads a dual life, one part criminal the other devoted family man. I see it's repeated again tonight. Definately worth a look. - The Music Thread - Currently Listening To
