I don't know about this show anymore. On the one hand you do take it with a grain of salt, you know, because as has been stated already, it's not like they can rewrite the myth. For a moment there at the end I thought we were having a flashback to season 2 or 3 ( or damn was it four?) with Lex holding what was left of the Brainiac hard drive. Seeing that bit made me realize we're going to sit through at least four or five episodes of Lex discovering some new weapon.

What, no Roli? Where's Jussi? And did you rally to beat the dreaded Flames, Alan? Or ia that like a post game summary? -

I don't think Gleason is a blue chip defenseman, but Belanger is one of the better checking line centers in the league. He can put up points from a defensive role, but tends to spend a fair bit of time on the IR each season.

Do you wonder if Luongo still thinks that Vancouver has a better shot than Florida at making the playoffs this season? I like the 'Nucks ( except when they're playing Edmonton, of course), but don't think much of their chances of making it to the dance this spring. I guess it's good to see Georges Laraque get a point, let alone a game winning goal. Even if its preseason. Way to go, big guy!

I caught the opener tonight and wasn't overly impressed. Did anyone else notice a red cape with a big yellow 'S' in the background when Raya(sp) was showing Clark his fathers pendant? And even in a plane crash Erica Durance still looks hawt!!!

I have two residences, one in a shack in a one horse town, the other in a van down by the river. Actually I live in northern Alberta.

Nice to hear Lupul finally got going last night. I'd like to see a reunion of the Reasoner Pisani Moreau line, but that would leave Jarret Stoll without any decent wingers. We are a week away, ladies and genitals. A week away...

That's what the subtitle option is for. Just be glad they weren't Scots!! And I was a bit suprised when . That was the most realistic piece of CGI I've ever seen. And I totally agree with you about the imagery in this film, LC.

I thought Hiro was pretty cool as well. His powers seem a little weird, I thought. The teleport part I understood, notsomuch on the time part. This show has a lot of promise, barring the druggie. If they really wanted to go cutting edge on this show, they should have made him a meth head and not a heroin addict. Heroin is sooo last year. NBC has a short graphic novel on their website. I"d link it, but I'm lazy. The comic book subplot seems pretty interesting, though.

Heh, you're right Alan, I didn't specify what sort of pool I wanted to join. Thanks for the invite, though! This is more up my alley. Am I the only one worried that the Oilers let in 4 goals against Vancouvers' b-squad last night?

Man, after doing some digging online I could make my own custom Solstice for just over 30K. I'll admit that I'm tempted to do it, although by the same point since my last car was paid off a few years ago I've really enjoyed having that extra five hundred bucks or so per month in my pocket.

That's not a spare, Krookie, that's the front wheel. I saw a Pontiac Solstice in town a while back. It looks like a nice ride, although it wouldn't be too practical during the winters up here.

My decision is kind of swaying between Knuble and Kovalev. Knuble has shown a steady increase points wise in the past three seasons. And Kovalev did bring the ole-rangle-dangle on a few nights last season. It's just those periods inbetween where he's either uninterested, slumping and/or injured. That's one of those ones where you actually have to show up to draft players? Although I don't let team pride usually get in the way of my picks , I'll avoid Comrie based on past rumours from Edmonton. Sturm is looking more and more like the default pick, although Tomas Holmstrom, who doesn't get a lot of points aside from PP goals, notched three assists in tonights' contest against the Wild. Thanks for the input, boys. And Mkreku, you'll be proud to know that I've selected Mats Sundin again for both of my entries into this years pool.

**** Yeah!! They had a six episode marathon of the Dudesons on the other day. Regrettably I watched it all. I keep expecting Kirottu to show up, drunk as hell. I think the last movie I watched was Stripes with Bill Murray.

Heh, the closest sort of story to that would be when a whole group of us went to see Guns N' Roses back on the Use Your Illusion tour. One of the guys sisters made it backstage and met the band. She said Slash gave her a hug. My friends all decided it would be a better story if they told everyone that Slash squeezed her tit instead. The second version was the one that everyone thought was true for some strange reason. And if I would have been in your buddies shoes, I would have tapped a younger Miss Phair. Gentlemen don't tell, they take polaroids instead. Oasis -

So, anyone joining any hockey pools this year? I can't seem to find the one I used to belong to from the Oilers forum. Which is too bad, 'cos you picked your players weekly and it was kinda fun. The start of next week is the deadline for my entries. It's the same as the last few years, pick one player out of five in twenty different boxes. For the most part its based on the top one hundred scorers from last season, but the guy who runs the pool likes to add in the top playoff scorers to throw off some of the noobs. Like Fernando Pisani in box number six with Kariya, Gomez, Shanny and Vinny Prospal. It's cruel, I know, but we always get a laugh out of it. Then we tease said person at work mercilessly for the next six, seven months. But here's my problem. There's box number fourteen that's really pissing me off right now. It has Philly's Mike Knuble, Brendan Morrow from Dallas, Alexei Kovalev, David Vyborny and Mike Sillinger. Knuble would be the most consistant point producer of the five, I would think, but a lot of times he's pretty much in it by himself with the Flyers, what with Forsberg (who I wouldn't pick due to the injury factor) and Gagne both being on the IR every season. Morrow is kind of an overacheiving checking line guy IMO than a big time numbers player. Kovalev? If he was still playing with the Rangers and Jagr was healthy, maybe. Otherwise no. He might be the most skilled of the five, but he's prone to lengthy slumps. David Vyborny is a second line winger who occasionally sees time on the PP with Rick Nash. This year he'll have to compete with Anson Carter for top line duty. Excuse me while I laugh myself silly here for a second. And isn't Mike Sillinger like a hundred? Or is that just the number of teams the guys played for? So any suggestions? That was the worst box in the pool, I thought. The next toughest had Comrie-Allison-Eric Cole-Tomas Holmstrom and Marco Sturm.

The Hold Steady makes me think that Counting Crows have met Five For Fighting with a touch of Bruce Hornsby. Liz Phair - Never Said Nothing seriously, who wouldn't want a go with Liz Phair?

Jebus, Drabs, are you writing an essay? The Music - I know **** about this band except that I really like this song.

Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline I had to go back to work today after having two weeks off. Dreading it I was, to be honest, but the first tune I heard over the PA was good ol' Neil, like the bugger was welcoming me back.
