  1. I absolutely lurved playing Arcanum. Yeah, it was disconcerting on my first run when my mage found some 'filament' sword or some such and beat the crap out of everything I met with it afterwards, but it was a great game, warts and all. Not as good as New Vegas, but great nonetheless.
  2. Justin, you glorious bastard, you did it! You managed to convince the management to back us poor lowly live instrumentation lovers. You are the man! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
  3. I've had a bottle and a half of wine, so I'm not drunk yet, but I will say that I'm happy. We're all a part of this. You've done a great job, C2B. Great job.
  4. Huzzah! My account posted the payment. My end is completely done until I have to answer about the specifics. I'm so glad. On top of everything else, I have a personal stake in this game at this point. I will forever associate it with events in my personal life. Thank you, Obsidian. This project provides me a chance to do something so much more important than I thought it would when it started.
  5. I don't know. It says it can post anywhere between now and January 14th I think. I'll just keep checking to see when it does.
  6. When will our accounts be charged for our pledges? It hasn't posted yet. Anyone know? Devs? Anyone? Anyone?
  7. If you add in paypal to kickstarter, they've gone well past $4Mil. It's going to be Brilliant!
  8. hmmm, I congratulated you but the board ate my post. Probably ended up at the end of some thread in WoT. Anyhow, nicely done, you glorious bastard. Might I suggest a Chanter named Virgil? :Cant's **** eating grin icon:
  9. lol I have to admit that I'm going to be glad and my account is charged and the campaign won't get more money out of me. I'm sooo excited that we've got the live instumentation. Huzzah! Wine for everyone (or beer or liquor... whatever you like)!
  10. I only visited the twitch or whatever it was long enough to congratulation them on a job well done, but it was clear at that point, an hour or two ago, that they'd been enjoying some alocholic beverages. Huzzah!
  11. I think they're going to hit $4Mil. They've literally got less than $100k left (including paypal and KS) to go. They're going to smash the last record by a big big margin.
  12. I'm still young enough to weep over lots of things, I would guess, but never in public. :Cant's broad grin icon: ...But, and I'm being sincere, I wasn't trying to insult you with the weeping thing. Probably just overstated because I feel just as strongly about including the live instrumentation as you do about excluding it. No excuses, so I'll beg pardon. As far as the poll goes, I think you've got it wrong. There is one option for no. I guess you could include an option for excluding sound alogether as a bottom end, but that's just getting a little silly. So, there's only one bottom to the entire idea: no live instrumentation. There is quite a spread regarding the implementation of live music. I guess, instead of no on the bottom, you could put full score as the initial question, such as "do you want the whole score done in live music?" 1. Yes. 2. No Small ensembles and soloists recordings 3. No Small ensembles and soloists with maybe some cheaper orchestra for parts where it's really needed. 4. No none at all. 4. Don't care. I guess that would be better? ...But it's the exact same thing anyway. There's a spread between full score and none at all and the poll would be far worse if it only allowed the two extremes. Well, I'm torn between wanting to defend my position, which I still hold with conviction, and trying not to offend folks. Please take for granted I'm not trying to offend you. I'm just giving voice to a side that thinks that this may well increase the quality. I feel vindicated in that the composer and management see some value in live instrumentation as well, since there hasn't been a huge hue and cry for it and yet it has been an issue for them.
  13. How does that make any difference at all? Bell, and the management, apparently believes that live instrumentation will add to the game. So, out of everything here on this board, out of every feature, item, or experience you'd like to have, you're here griefing in this thread about the inclusion of live music in some capacity or another? ...And complaining about me because I'm not something I have never claimed to be... an expert in the field. I mean, I guess you can keep coming here to complain because your point of view lost out at the end *assuming we even hit $4Mil* but it's just plain small. At the end of the day, des, I'm here celebrating something I really wanted to see. At the end of a hugely successful kickstarter campaign, you're here trying to convince me that I was wrong to want it? Go, be happy, think of the things you want to see and don't begrudge me celebrating something I really wanted to have.
  14. The number of options for some music doesn't do anything to the 'no' option. If you don't want live music, there's no where else to go. The poll would be biased by reducing the number of options for live music because there is a spread. So you want a poll that has "live music yes or no?" That's far more biased, Des. ...And I can't believe that you're here complaining about live instrumentation, one of a list of things at the $4Million level. Instead of being happy that the project is so stunningly successful, you're going to spend your time here crying about one aspect of the last update? Go and celebrate that the things you *did* want were included and don't waste your time here weeping because one item, out of so many, was included contrary to what you *didn't* want.
  15. I immediately upped my pledge by $20 just on the notion that we'd get some live instrumentation at $4Mil. I'm not rich. Yeah, it's not like I live hand to mouth, but the money I pledge *will* mean money I can't spend elsewhere, so I want to make it count for something. This is one case, and maybe the only one, where I will say authoritatively that a lot of the players say one thing, but it's not really true. Good music can make a game. It is becoming more vital, not less. I stopped pestering about live music because I got the impression that maybe it would be better to let the matter drop, but it has never stopped being an issue for me and I am extremely happy at the prospect of live music, not necessarily because the synthesized music would be bad. I'm sure it will be used extensively and well throughout the project, but because dedicating the funds and time, even modestly, to live instrumentation shows that Obsidian is taking the music seriously.
  16. I increased my pledge several times for a number of reasons. As folks have been saying, for add-ons, as gifts, and for personal reasons. Even today, when I read update #26 http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidian/project-eternity/posts/329795?ref=activity I decided to put in an extra $20 in hopes of getting live instrumentation. I don't know if we'll hit 4Mil, but I certainly hope so.
  17. I actullly liked Arcanum quite a bit. :Cant's looking over his shoulder to see if anyone else heard that icon:
  18. Hey, Loranc, thanks for starting these threads and keeping them up. I don't post in them much, but I do read them and I appreciate being able to keep track of stuff in an easy spot like this.
  19. Don't know why they didn't post it on this forum, but here's the link to Update #26. I put in an extra $20 for the soundtrack since it will have live instrumentation if we can eek out $4Mil but I don't know if I can justify spending that on myself. I guess I could get an extra couple packs of cards or maybe the xpac for one of the people for whom I'm buying the main title. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidian/project-eternity/posts/329795?ref=activity
  20. The bastards just posted an update that is about the last thing that could get me to pledge just a little more. Live instrumentation. I'm sure they'll post it here straight away. lol
  21. Yeah, I've been making and storing a lot of extra weapon repair kits. This run, I've decided to go with the max skill philosophy, not because I think it's the best but because I wanted to be able to do and use everything as best as possible. So my sneak, guns, energy weapons, repair, science, and speech are all super high... like between 90-100. Medicine is also quite high. My stats are sky-high. Like I said, you're better off taking other perks, but this is a normal difficulty run and I'm just having fun with it.
  22. "What I didn't do today" made me chuckle. I make lentil soup every now and then, Hurlie. If you dress it up, it's not so bad. Be careful of things that might be an allergic trigger, but they have a lot of protein.
  23. I thought these weren't two separate things but the house was upgraded to the stronghold? No, you get both a house AND a stronghold. I'm going to rent out the house for added income. I'll send my steward from the stronghold to go muscl... request the rental payments each month.
  24. You still need to update the http://project-eternity.tumblr.com/post/33540911246/project-eternity-reward-tiers. I'm curious, do the tiers above $350 also get a loot bag? Not a deal breaker for me or anything, but some of the loot in that bag seemed pretty sweet.
  25. Huzzah! I love the artwork! ...And that loot bag actually seems like more sweet than funny, but I won't complain about that. :Cant's shifty-eyed grin icon:
