Good Lord, did either one format your hard-drive? With PoR2 out there, how can anyone compete for buggiest game ever?

I liked your report, Pixies. Hell, this thread would probably be dead if it weren't for your fine submissions. :Eldar's wink and grin icon:

Costume for Wedding Anniversary
Thats the theme though, everyone will be dressed weird. In the context of the weird and it being his anniversary he should at least look smart and rich as opposed to a common serf. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh man, Kor, that had me rolling. "There is no real excuse for a grown man to wear a poofy shirt." hahahahahaha :Eldar's guffawing icon: I'm ording one tonight, and the pictures will be forthcoming. However, I'd like to say that I'm quite glad I asked here. Majority opinion swayed my final decision, that much I will say. Oh, and I couldn't do it for under $100. The costume will be $135 and the boots will cost me more. How much, I can't yet say.

I finished the game twice without a patch. ...But I do have sympathy for folks who didn't. It's just the nature of computer gaming that some folks have problems with certain games. It's not even the same person for each game. All that said, I enjoyed Bloodlines quite a bit. It gave me a glimpse of the Masquerade universe. If everyone didn't insist on DnD around here, I'd probably try to get them to play it. I'd even buy the books, supported or not.

Costume for Wedding Anniversary
I have to say that tarna is clearly the coolest guy on earth. He is not only a great guy, a discrete mod, and classy, but he makes it all look easy. I'm going the cheesy route because I can't see spending more on the costume than I did for the mead. When I got to looking, however, I noticed so many cool things that I'd like to have. I've never bought a renaissance costume, but you can get actual armor, weapons, and attire fit to order. Good Lord. That's too much money for me to spend. The whole affair is only going to cost some $1,000 altogether. I'm simply not going to spend more on my costume than I do on my guests. I could easily spend $2,000 on a costume and that would still cut a few corners. For some folks that's spare change, but I can't see dropping that kind of cash. Yes, I am cheap. I'm going with this cheesy number: If that falls through, I guess I'll actually drop the cash for this one instead:

If you come as Maid Marian, I'll send you an invitation and gladly don the Burger King costume. I will also post pictures of the two of us dancing for the Obsidian forum community! :Eldar's **** eating grin icon:

Hehehe I'll PM you Tarna. I will, however, say that I am quite a lardass, but 6'2" can hide a lot of lard. I have a 40" waist but I don't look it. As far as the sword goes, I have that, but I'll definitely PM you about the costume.

Costume for Wedding Anniversary
That's great, Blue. It's on the shameful side of stupid that it took someone else to find shops in my area. :Eldar's abashed and ashamed icon: Still, I'm just glad to have the list. I'll start calling tomorrow.

Costume for Wedding Anniversary
That would be awesome. I haven't thought of pming Sawyer, but I might. I put this off to the last minute. If I don't figure something out soon, you'll be seeing me in the news when my wife murders me.

You are such a jerk. Granted, I thought it was funny, but you're still a jerk. I can see going to the party as the "Burger King." Jackass. :Eldar's guffawing icon: Okay, but I don't mind some ribbing. I expected it. Some folks might have some honest suggestions, and those are most welcome, but I'm not going to get bent out of shape because some folks have fun at my expense. With that said, I'd like to know what folks think. I mean, come on! You're a bunch of RPG playing, Renaissance loving, elitist geeklings. You have to know what would make a good costume. Otherwise, screw it, I'll just order this little number off of ebay:

Eldar: I'm Batman. Eldar's Wife: You've ruined my anniversary party! *alternates between sobbing and beating on Eldar* Maybe I should go with the Viking Mans costume from Surreptishus' link. heh heh.

Alas, no. Still, that was all theoretical. This is serious. I need to buy the costume.

Costume for Wedding Anniversary
On February 19, my wife and I will be celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary. We have sent out the invitations, purchased the wine, ale, and mead, secured the decorations, and reserved the dining hall. What I need now is a costume. So, fellow internets geeklings, anyone know of a place to get a decent nobleman's renaissance costume? Any ideas would be welcome in terms of where I can purchase one, what the price would be, and what would look best. I'd like to stick to something under $100, but I'm willing to pay more if the quality and price combine to make it a truly exceptional deal. I need this by the second week in February, so I probably don't have time to have it tailored. Please, any ideas?

Couple get 9 years prison for Wendy's finger scam
No. Their actions had far reaching consequences for the community and even nationwide. The initial story broke on national television, and cost Wendys untold amounts of money. Those costs had an immediate effect on Wendys employees and will translate into costs for the consumer. If there is a maximum sentence for this category of crime, I'm all for it.

I can't ignore a chance to state my irritation at St. Timmy. The interview where he essentially said his games were too complex and thus were not successful was the nail in the coffin. Aside from Troika, which is better left forgotten, Obs probably has nothing to gain by dishing dirt on WotC. In fact, dishing dirt on the publisher and WotC didn't help Troika stay in the game, did it. It made them seem small and petty, an appearance that undoubtedly reflects reality. I mean, I thought JEs comments regarding licensed properties were a bit on the edge, but at least he never, to my knowledge, blamed the publisher or the licensor for the sales or quality of his games. In fact, he's ever the candid designer in that area. It might not be wise, but I always appreciated the fact that he didn't pass the buck. Speaking of Ferret, I haven't seen him in these parts for a while.

Looking for sad music
Nice mental exercises, but some music strikes most listeners as sad, even without any context other than their ears. A good example would be Nick's Adagio for Strings. It has a certain melancholy quality for most listeners, regardless of context. I'm not saying that context is irrelevant. I'm saying it is not necessary.

T.O.M.B.S, vol 3
Pixies has been stalking Lou Gutman for damned near a year. Would the real Lou Gutman please stand? It's not necessary that I do the reports. I was looking forward to writing DL's report, but I'd like to see both Surreptishus and Pixies do one for her, so it comes out okay.

7th Heaven cancelled!
Thank God, I hate 7th heaven with a passion and my wife constantly made me watch the damned thing.

I should do a Darth Launch report. I don't think I've done one for her. After that, does anyone else want a report, or have I plumbed the depths of Eldar reviewing? :Eldar's glancing around before he encases his report writing and leaves it to be judged by the ages:

Mod squad loses a bod.
I'd say a swift kick to the head, but I'm all for the slap on the shoulder and a tankard of ale. Rare praise from Gromnir, but well deserved. I didn't realize that you were going to the ranks of such an acclaimed developer. Awesome, Shadowstrider! You've gone from moderator to board royalty. Of course, being a dev means you get some tough questions from folks who know your work. There's no getting around that. Still, the coolness factor is worth it!

Thank you, good Drabek, for your review. I especially liked this line: I know over the top. Over the top and I are friends. This is not over the top: In all the silliness of these reviews, what they really do is tell us something about each other. That's both for the subject and writer of the report. I learned a few things about Laozi by reading your review. I also remember the wasp spitting dogs comment and thinking it was damned funny. Anyhow, great review. You should do more!
