  1. But can you bake your own bread? Actually, that was something Arkane did in their first game and no other game has bettered the cooking in Arx Fatalis since. PC Zone also gave Dark Messiah a good review, mid to late 80s I think, stating that the swordplay was great. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The process for making your own sword is great, while a little bit pointless I had a better sword it was a fun little part of the game, could have been better though.
  2. I'm currently waiting for a pizza to be delivered and about to take a shower...
  3. (w00t) OMG OMG OMG...
  4. Having played the FF's before VII, I can honestly say, they suck, but they are better than FF VII, which was extremely poor. FF as a series is overrated!
  5. So basically MP3's with a different extension.....
  6. I can't help myself... Coder 1 - Reviewer 0;
  7. writing code, with a very large headache caused by drinking too much. Also posting this post. (w00t)
  8. true, but the idea of the artwork is to convince me otherwise. It feels and looks obviously flat.
  9. What i mean by flat polygons is the fact that I am not convinced that the character is not made up of flat polygons, I can actually see them - the flat polygons. Despite the artists decent textures and attempt to cover up the flatness of the models. The animation is good though, and fluid. It's not great or amazing. The enviroments look terrible, better than previous FF's sure, but terrible. The PS2 really is CRAP in terms of hardware, and it shows despite the efforts of the artists (they've pulled a blinder). I suppose for the PS2 it's good, but in general, it's crap.
  10. Seriously.... The graphics are sub-par, good for the PS2, but really not upto standard. I would actually say the textures are good, but the rest is crap. lots of flat polygons + pretty textures != good graphics.
  11. Sacred & DM-M&M. my eyes hurt because i drank too much last night.
  12. I think it depends on what kind of programming you are doing. If you are writing a graphical rendering engine for a FPS, I would say it would help to be a math wiz. It's easier than you'd think.
  13. It was sarcasam. Yeah you have to change models all teh time, simple fact, it's there for that reason - so you can change the model and thus have an implementation model, it's quicker on the whole than walking blind.
  14. Why the hell anyone would want to do that is beyond me... but who am I to judge. This thread also confirms that reviewers are clueless morons, FF's have always sucked, yet they get high review scores despite their general suckiness... Amazing really.
  15. I didn't think you did optimism
  16. Dunno haven't finished it yet, so it's obviously long enough hehehe... I'd say it's replayable.
  17. I won't write a review but I will try and answer your questions. It doesn't feel repetative to me, infact some levels don't involve combat at all... chapter 3 is not a combat level. Level design is far from sloppy, while linear, there are always options for different approaches. enviroments are indeed pretty. The immersion factor is awesome, you get to listen in on some conversions, this adds to the immersion factor. Physics based magic is a great idea, nice to see it done so well. Melee combat feels very kinetic and it's not at all repetative. You could certainly sneak around aswell. It's great when you get mobbed, you really have to pick your target and moves well. Yes I think it's a very good game, despite the bugs, if you're dubious wait or the patch.
  18. The answer is..... Yep, you should have.
  19. Cyric's right Reviewers are idiots.
  20. strangely enough, even by making the game turn based and having a graphical look like that of the previous fallout games, even then the fundamentalist crackpots still wouldn't be happy. That's the problem with fallout fanboi's & gals. They're an unhappy bunch.
  21. I've only had a minor problem related to the Graphics card not being properly initialized upon loading, it required that I go into the video card options change a setting in the advanced section and click apply. That's the only problem I have had with the game. I certainly had more game stopping bugs with BG2 and NWN. The game itself, I like, it's fairly polished, the combat is better than oblivion, it's very entertaining, the game is not nor does it try to be a hardcore RPG, I do like the award of skill points for objectives, opposed to kills. It's fun, the most fun I have had in a long long time, and more stable than gothic 3.
  22. and...? It wasn't supposed to be a personal comment against him.
  23. Did nobody ever inform you that reviewers are, just opinionated **** who trip off of the influence they gain? I haven't paid mind to a reviewers comments on games for years.
  24. Accept XBOXERS would be very non vocal gamers, so much for RP.
