  1. Linky. This is good news. Kudos to Ubisoft. Now to get my Collecters' Edition of HoMM V!
  2. The Mind Control Test
  3. Why not just... Let Iran have nuclear capability. If their a responsible country, good. If not , they better hope there's no counter-attack. Who's willing to take a bet that Isreal is not at this very moment, preparing its own arsenal and counter-measures. Maybe the next Fallout can be in the middle-east. Light a candle, and pray. A canticle for Leibowitz.
  4. Religion is mind-control.
  5. "Is it really logic, or is it more just basic observation skills?" Both, maybe?
  6. Manowar is about as gay as D&D. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ROFL! QFT. btw, the game seems to be coming along nicely.
  7. Hmmmmm... What evil lurks in the heart of man?
  8. IANAL, but I suppose they would be. The thing is no-one has taken the company to court ... yet, and then there is a little thing called a EULA which may indemnify them from any potential damage etc. The best way is a boycott of their products. Clarification: The EULA in regards to the game, and as Starforce may be viewed as part of the product. It all depends on how a real court would view the interpretation of such.
  9. The Starforce people are taking DRM to new heights. Talk about annoying the customer. Imagine copying some personal files to disc for back-up purposes and the PC just reboots. This software gives no disclaimer or notice when installing and runs all the time. Essentially hogging CPU-cycles and slowing overall system performance. While active Starforce may also disable DMA-mode on read/write devices. E.g: cdrom/dvd - forcing PIO-mode which is generally slower and may make watching DVDs or HD-DVDs choppy or impossible. AFAIK Starforce is used only in PC games, for e.g: Ubisoft exclusively uses Starforce in its titles. Disclaimer: I have no problem with companies protecting their IP, and don't advocate piracy. Nevertheless, Starforce does this without a user's knowledge and to detrimental effect, potentialy causing time- or work-loss even damage due to draconian copy-protection measures. I think it high-time that we as gamers and consumers in general educate ourselves in regard as to the titles and companies (publishers) using starforce. And decide if we want to continue supporting this kind of behaviour, which enforces its DRM-policy with blatant disregard towards its primary users. 10. Which country is this? The country I am currently residing in. The country I was born in or the one of my nationality? Actually I don't hate any country, just ignorant people.
  11. *Que music* "We are the world ... On Topic:Gay/Lesbian rights are all over the media these days. Eg. "Brokeback Mountain", The L word etc., its in your face 24/7 that I think most just accept it. Or maybe just try to ignore it.
  12. Well thats one of the things I'd like to know. It's like if you are expressing pride and your not a minority your doing something wrong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pride is overrated to begin with. Does it really make sense to be proud of your skin color or where you were born? Its not like you had a choice, you were born into it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, but what I don't get, is this double standard that other minorities-, cultures' pride is all good, but white pride is 'teh great evil' :TM:
  13. Whyis it that white pride/power automatically = KKK, nazi?
  14. Colour me dissapointed. Seems CoC is only being released to recoup whatever costs they possibly can. This news sucks. I won't be getting this then, barring some inspired review or such ... though the little info so far doesn't bode well at all. Too bad. This could have been a breath of fresh air in an otherwise fetid landscape of homogenised and stagnant game filler. How many PC franchises or original PC games have been killed by xbox - development now?
  15. So.., this has been out for the xbox already, then this is just the release of the PC port. Right? Any word if its just a straight up port or will there be changes to interface, controls, resolution support etc. in regards to the PC version? Atmosphere and the Lovecraft feel are the most important for me. If the Great Old Ones make an appearance, I' may go insane. In a good quiet way, of course. Been waiting for this a long while now.
  16. I also like "Planet of the Apes - 1968" and "Night of the living dead - 1990".
  17. About Sin City, well I don't keep up on whats hot or not in movies. Mind-numbing, pop-corn summer block-buster are the usual favs for most. I haven't been to the 'kine' (movies) in ages, and can't be bothered to rent or buy or download/pirate movies, cause I find most movies and espcially Hollywood idiotic. Friends of mine generally bring around movies they think are weird or ****, - for me to watch. They follow a general rule that if they don't like it, I may and vice-versa. Last couple of movies they brought me were: The Island. - 1st half awesome, 2nd half crap. Immortal. - COOL idea, flawed direction The Village. - Great, 9/10; Five ***** - My official nomination for movie that I like and most hate. Seeing as I am not allowed to choose Sin City, As its such a cinematic masterpiece and loved by all.
  18. I liked Sin City ... a lot. I wanted to hate it though. "La puta con un coraz
  19. "To many, having the developer and publisher of the award-winning Elder Scrolls action RPG series take over such a cherished IP was a godsend." OMGWTFCOPTER?!! *rollseyes* *starts laughing maniacally*
  20. I wish. Atm I am broadbandless. Yah, basically includes patched version plus the expansion. Ahh, so that is the reason for some critical reviews. Guess you can't please everyone. So far I am getting mostly recommendations , so I guess it will be money well spent. I am also intrigued at seeing how Creative Assembly pulled a hybrid TBS/RTS off. Another reason of interest. Roman culture and history is just inspiring. Is it at all based on historical merits? I.E: The units, campaigns etc. are they based on real Roman history? Cause, you know that would be great. I am imagining something like; instead of Rome falling to the Huns I can maybe prevent this terrible tragedy. Or doing the Roman campaigns in old Britain or Andalusia or the conquer of Jerusalem and Egypt. "Ave Ceasar!"
  21. So, R:TW gold edition was released. Read some reviews on gamespot. Scored pretty well, - avg. 9.3 from user reviews. Now, I was nearly sure of getting this , then I read a user review on another forum, where the guy basically called the game crap. In doubt, I decided to ask the wise men of the Obsidian forums. Never had the pleasure of playing a Total War game. Usually, I don't buy a game when its released and wait for the inevitable 'gold' release or the bargain bin. Favourite strategy = SMAC(Alpha Centauri). Have played most RTS/TBS - DoW, Aoe, C&C, Star/Warcraft, Civ, Disciples except for Total War series. Basically, opinions, thoughts, likes and dislikes on "Rome: Total War" and its expansion, would be appreciated.
