I am in Megaton right now. I entered some kind of church and killed all the people in there. When I went back outside, it's as if nothing had happened! I then tried to kill someone outside and the whole town was on me. Needless to say that I died... Dunno, it may have good points as a game but I guess its appeal will rapidly decrease over the course of the next days... Isn't there a way to make my character move faster? It takes ages to move around...

He says he's happy with his life, but to post such things, he must really feel lonely and must be bored of his wife and kids... Maybe he should get a divorce instead... -
Today (September 19th) is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. In celebration of events, Tell Tale Games have the first episode of the new Monkey Island Game out for free (Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal). You just need to enter an e-mail address and create a password: New to Monkey Island? Back when LucasArts was called Lucasfilm Games, a creative young team introduced us to a pirate wannabe named Guybrush Threepwood in The Secret of Monkey Island. This led to a series of swashbuckling adventures where Guybrush became a Mighty Pirate

I don't know, I have been wandering through the wasteland for something like 30 minutes and I barely got 4 encounters. I am currently in some ruined city. I find the pacing to be too slow. I did like the exploration aspect in the Zelda games but I dislike the one in Oblivion and Fallout 3. I can't explain why... Maybe Oblivion and Fallout's maps are 1000 times larger, and I just don't like having to wander aimlessly until I discover the next town with quests. I don't want to change anyone's opinion about the game. I am just expressing my first thoughts and the reasons why I am inclined not to like the game. It's maybe not for me... Oh by the way, I killed the Overseer. I just couldn't stand the guy. Who did the same?

Ok, I played a bit more. Got killed once by some moles and dogs. After that, I killed some raiders, some kind of robot and a super mutant. The game looks a bit boring at this point. The character doesn't move fast enough, all I have seen so far are some huge empty spaces, it's taking very long to get from one point to another without anything happening. Exploration can be fun but this is starting to become tedious. I don't like these games where you walk for hours and hours. I agree with the statement that it's Oblivion with guns. And I guess I won't be playing long this game. I just wanted to see what the fuss was all about.

I am playing it on the pc. I have trouble deciding about my character's stats. The skill tags I have chosen: speech, small guns and open locks.

A friend of mine lent me his copy and I have just finished the tutorial. I am ashamed of saying this, but despite the average writing, it is quite pleasant. *sighs* My main complaint is about the awful and clunky interface.

Mmm, actually (if I buy the game), I intend to play my character just like I played my jedis in KOTOR. Use the special powers and the rush to battle. I guess Vanguard/Shock trooper is more appropriate to my style of playing.
-
Cool, I will certainly buy it but I guess I will wait for the enhanced edition, since CDP has a habit of making re-releases. I admit that the first game was enjoyable at first but it started becoming tedious in chapter 3. I am currently in chapter 4 and have taken a long pause since April. I might continue playing next month...

Which one is better? Vanguard/Shock trooper or Vanguard/Nemesis? I cannot decide...

Have you guys read the Let's play thread on the Codex? It was hilarious! Even though the exploration aspect seems interesting (it could be bland though from all the videos I have seen), the writing and humor are horrible and main story laughable. I can't figure out how lamer Beth could become...

I am also disappointed with the character's passiveness when they got covered in blood in the trailer... Even past Bio games were better than that... I think Bio's problem is that they try to be too cinematic. It's a game for God's sake, not a movie... That is why I think the introduction of 3d in rpgs was a bad thing. The isometric view in the infinity engine games was sooooo cool and easy to play with. They could have improved the models but otherwise it was pretty fine.
-
Can we kill joinable NPCs? That would be an improvement over past Bio and Obz games (except for the infinity engine ones).

I found a new local magic the gathering shop today and the shopkeeper was a bit of a wacko. I approached the shelves to see which decks he was selling and he suddenly raised his hands and shouted "hey, it's out of bounds, don't get any closer. If you want anything, just ask!". I was a bit surprised and guessed that he reacted that way because he had some holders on the lower shelves with all rare cards. Still, I can't see how I could have stolen anything. Weird guy and this has teached me to treat MtG as a simple boardgame and not an addiction.

It mirrors my popularity. I got rid of it because Gorth asked me to shorten my sig. In Tragic the Bothering I never played white or blue, and rarely green. You can put your sig images next to each other if you want to take less space.

Oh yes, indeed! Whita-Blue POWAAAA!!!!

Who's to blame, huh? By the way, I found all the Duel decks at very reasonable prices on ebay (20-22 British pounds, shipping included). I think I will just skip the collecting aspect of the game as it will probably cost me a fortune.

Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, but I do believe these characters are awfully bland, cliche and look similar in many ways. Another example of character recycling is Aribeth->Bastila->Wu the Lotus Blossom->Ashley Williams I guess (I haven't played the game) Moreover, it's always the same story for all characters, they were tortured by life (lost wings, father, wife, or whatever else). Even the main storyline is the same: some great ancient evil has resurfaced. Even DA uses that plot...

Actually its the only thing I like about Dragons Age so far, don't see what's wrong with it. I still won't play the game but the "return" of Imoen is a nice touch. I have had enough of Bioware recycling the same characters and story time and again... Is it so hard to be creative? Actually, that is why I was trying like a madman to get The Black Hound released. This game at least showed some promise and originality... Too bad it was canned...

Steam is not intrusive. DL it once, then never go online again to play the game, if that is too much trouble for you, get a new hobby. It is intrusive in the sense that you have to download a third-party program (Steam) to play a game. I just want to buy a cd or purchase online an installer.exe file. Why do I have to go through all this to play a game? What happened to old-fashioned gaming? Moreover, they make us endure all that while it has 0% impact on the reduction of piracy. Who are they kidding?

Ramza, how did you get your sig? All the quizzes I've found are monocolor. Here http://rumandmonkey.com/widgets/toys/testgen/5261/
