Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
the obstacle you will run into for successful intimidation checks is the same hurdle most any individual character or party build must face: bloat. owlcat balancing is near non-existent, so the method they utilized to keep the game challenging were to breakdown difficulty levels based on the predictably munchkiny nonsense possible with owlcat epic + pathfinder. for intimidation specific, is surprising few bosses immune to fear. intimidation also ignores sr. however, 'cause o' the endemic bloat, it takes a ridiculous investment to build a character capable o' being able to reliable intimidate bosses. https://pathfinderwrathoftherighteous.wiki.fextralife.com/Frightful+Aspect eventual you get frightful aspect. is like a permanent dazzling display aura and is even better than straight-up intimidation 'cause is no skill check or saving throw. foes in the aoe o' effect capable o' being shaken are shaken, period. so why would you devote effort to building a character who is able o' delivering shaken through dazzling display? most players would not make such an investment. however, am gonna suggest the answer is as simple as two words: vavakia vanguard. is only a couple o' 'em in the base game and they are tougher than most bosses. the most annoying aspect o' these foes is their fear aura which were delivered via intimidation as 'posed to will save and as such it were near impossible to resist the effect. a player character or a couple companions may achieve same results as the vavakia vanguard. take one level o' thug results in the player's intimidation checks being transformed from shaken to fear. thug fear is an amazingly powerful ability and is perpetual undervalued, but 'cause o' bloat o' bosses, you need indulge near every skill, strength and charisma boosting option available if you wanna be able to fear lock bosses. chances are dazzling display, as soon as you acquire frightful aspect (which is admitted late in the game) feels like wasted feats. however, give one level o' thug to sosiel and build him with single-minded dedication to boosting intimidation, and you will be able to reliable fear lock all but the couple fear immune bosses. ... alternatively, play trickster. HA! Good Fun!

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
am not wanting to be that guy, but, you might consider one more respec if is the issue we anticipate. the velociraptor starts with superior dex as 'posed to strength. however, 'tween level ups and use of 'such stuff as animal growth or legendary proportions, for most o' the game strength is gonna be your best attribute for the little dino. weapon finesse, although am believing it is a recommended choice from owl cat, is not a particular good choice. however, if you got the leopard, then is worth taking weapon finesse. and yeah, the claws v. talons thing is unnecessarily confusing. weapon focus: other natural weapons. *shrug* HA! Good Fun!

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
we mentioned a few o' the fixes earlier and one which stood out is one of the animal companion changes. the gore attack has been addressed, but more significant is that any critter with a gore attack now receives a free trip opportunity. dogs and wolves were attractive mount choices in wotr 'cause medium-sized characters could mount 'em eventual and the canines boasted a free trip attack. boar, elk, mastodon, and triceratops, according to owlcat, now have a free trip attack... as well as other individual benefits beyond what dogs and wolves offer. btw, likely the best tank mount choice for a small fellow such as regill, previous to this patch, were the leopard (boar deserves consideration.) leopard received a free trip and it had a fantastic ac which made it more tanky than all but a handful o' the player character builds exploiting the busted doubling of charisma and dex bonuses. leopard is able to tank on difficulties up to hard as long as you layer it with all the standard spell defenses such as barkskin, magical vestment and all the rest o' the all but essential pre buffing nonsense. daredevil is your animal companion archetype for bestest tank 'cause o' the immunity to flanking. if the gore animals receive their trips same as leopard, wolf and dog, then am gonna serious need to reevaluate 'em, 'cause such an addition sounds kinda too good to be true. HA! Good Fun!

literal during the last recession, we could buy foreclosures on the steps o' the court house for ten cents on the dollar. the foreclosures tend to come in waves. sure, some times it works in the bank's favour, but as often as not it don't... particular as displaced homeowners are notorious for taking their frustrations out on the property before they disappear into the wind. HA! Good Fun! ps am knowing we stated banks had learned little from the great recession, but am gonna observe how recent we has seen at least one aspect o' bank behaviour change. yeah, banks have once again been offering loans to woeful unqualified prospective homeowners, and they is engaging in variations o' the sub-prime stoopid which were a large part o' the 2008 collapse, but am having observed how banks is far more willing to be reasonable and work to unload properties NOW than they were in 2007. last recession, banks were holding out for every nickel and they were willing to sit on a property as 'posed to do a short sale or something similar. the past few months has had baks doing different with more than a few lenders being extreme reasonable... which sadly helps convince us those banks is convinced another significant recession is forthcoming.

is the problem we got with regill, 'cause as much as we would like to have him in a party beyond his companion quests, am almost invariably diminishing our party efficacy by bringing him along. is not that regill is weak or useless, but there are gonna be better options. HA! Good Fun!
-
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
regill is not doomed as a sacred huntsmaster by any means, though 12 levels is likely the best option and then add two more o' something else. 'course chances are sosiel and lann is in party and so you already have two wisdom havers. regill has a wisdom o' 13. is only so much wisdom boosting gear to go around and 13 is not an ideal start point regardless. best domain powers is either level or wisdom linked... or both. max o' fourteen levels o' sacred hunstmaster. regill is godclaw, so law, protection, strength and war? none o' those is great for domains so need add impossible domain. if the goal for regill is build a mounted support caster with domains, then lann is a already a far better option. even so, 12 or 14 levels o' sacred huntsmaster for regill is not a bad idea. @Gorth probably noticed sosiel is also slow on his feet. with impossible domain mythic power you may give him animal domain which provides access to a mount. HA! Good Fun!

the dastardly 4% fixed rate home loan may not be a good argument for bank villainy, but am indeed shocked at how little many lenders appear to have learned from 2008. HA! Good Fun!

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
ps @Gorth regill, as he is not only small but also clad in heavy armour, suffers from some o' the same movement issues as seelah. he is also surprising squishy until later levels. our ordinary regill build is to go 100% remaining levels as armiger, 'cause fighter is one o' the more underappreciated wotr classes with a bazillion feats and the weapon training class feature. however, another option which solves regill's mobility shortfall is with a 3/11 sacred huntsmaster/gendarme (****atrice order) build. choose the velociraptor and take the boon companion feat. is not celestial velociraptor, so why velociraptor? 'cause regill is small enough to ride the raptor, and the raptor is an amusing choice. get mighty charge with 11 levels o' gendarme and steal glory at level 8, which functional doubles your seize the moment attacks o' opportunity. based on recent patch notes, elk might be a decent mount choice if you aren't trying to make regill as funny as possible. 'course our obstacle in keeping regill in a party is that he would likely replace seelah, and the paladin is too valuable to abandon, particular for boss fights. mark of justice (paladin level 11) is one o' the most useful wotr abilities... top three in our estimation.
-
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
am not ordinarily a fan o' evhul companions, and a few o' the wotr options is perfect examples o' why we avoid the villainous party mates, but regill were probable our favorite wotr party npc, which admitted is not a particular high bar to reach. add enough qualifiers and anything becomes true, eh? we wouldn't enjoy regill's company in rl, but his behavior and motivations were believable and rational even if you thought the hellknight were unreasonable attached to his code. regill is no less a cartoon character than any o' the other wotr joinables. that's all. am not making excuses for liking regill more than the other wotr companions. HA! Good Fun!

wouldn't ever say russian dressing and thousand island are tasting similar, but they do have a similar appearance. thousand island has pickle relish, ketchup and no horseradish, chili or garlic. sure, both dressings is mayo-based and has paprika and lemon juice, but read ingredient list and imagine they taste sameish is challenging our creativity. the clear versions o' russian is using oil instead o' mayo. kinda vile in our estimation, but recognizing the mayo in most bottled varieties is at best inoffensive, am suspecting clear v. opaque makes little difference. that said, if you like a sauerkraut and corned beef sandwhich with honey mustard instead o' russian, am not gonna criticize. you got a sandwhich you enjoy? call it a win and it don't matter what is the name o' the meal... save to note you ain't eating a rueben if is on sourdough with thousand island dressing and pastrami. could be delicious, but why call it a rueben? 'course we got same issues with folks purposeful mistaking italian gravy or red sauce for bolognese. is some weird cachet which attaches to bolognese which makes folks mislabel? HA! Good Fun!

won't happen for the bank either. a single bad loan by a mega bank does not result in auto government forgiveness. however, you are correct that big banks and auto makers and any number o' too big to fail enterprises exist. sorry, but that is the stark reality o' the situation and is indeed not fair. if OMNI bank and a similar half dozen banks were to go t!ts up, near all americans would suffer. hurl goes under and is only hurl and his family which suffers. regardless, the single loan scenario is not doing you or hurl favours. HA! Good Fun!

The All Things Political Topic - We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office
but it ain't massively profitable for the bank if we accept your description. assume you got one million dollars to invest. chances are you can do better than 4% return. so what is the motivation for a bank to lend to hurl and other homeowners if they may invest that money elsewhere for better return? bruce may be a less than ideal representative o' the western capitalist pov, but am thinking some folks ain't being complete fair. US banks is in the business o' making money. *shock* sure, more than a few lenders indulge in predatory schemes and banks such as wells fargo were active indulging the worst used car salesman approach to many o' their accounts. here in the US we had more bank regulation, right up until bill clinton. george bush (43) tried to claw back some o' the regulatory oversight power o' the fed which clinton surrendered and his own party turned on him... which no doubt would feed into @Guard Dogand his they are all bad narrative. regardless, for all the terrible stuff banks do, your example is so not a great illustration o' such evils. for the most part banks ain't hiding their lending scheme for home owners and is not as if they is forcing other credit products on you when you take out a mortgage. thanks in part to minimal bank regulations (damned socialists) you may get a home loan on your personal residence at a noticeable better rate than you would for investment property or business, so in and of itself, the banks ain't making massive profits on the loans... which is exact what is the reason banks did all kinda stoopid in the early and mid 2000s to turn minimal profitable loans into larger profits... same kinda stoopid banks is doing yet again in 2022 btw. if hurl can do better with a $1 million dollar investment, why should the bank be prevented from doing so? am agreeing there is many systemic obstacles to home ownership which ain't fair, obstacles which is predictable resulting in increasing income disparity and decreases in home ownership for each new generation. it isn't fair. however, what hurl describes ain't the problem. HA! Good Fun!

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
new dlc today, but more significant for those playing wotr for the first time, https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1184370?emclan=103582791469275223&emgid=3225161106688762145 is substantial changes, but have not read in entirety. we did notice one curiosity: "All animal companions with horns and tusks finally recalled they shouldn't bite, and started using their horns at full capacity. All animal companions with gore now perform a free trip attack with gore;" so, boar, elk, mastodon and triceratops now get free trip? hmmm. "Weapon Finesse (Mythic) will work with the finesse weapons only from now on." doesn't affect Gromnir, but am suspecting howls o' anguish from a few people. HA! Good Fun! ps "Feyspeaker druid finally got some new DLC spells in their repertoire" which is likely interesting to nobody but Gromnir, but am gonna need see what were changed. charisma casting druid were all borked and the shadow spell dcs were busted since beta, though potential more effective previous to one o' the post release patches. have wanted to play a gnome feyspeaker druid since release, but...

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
well, that would be new. admitted we haven't played wotr for a couple months, but we often have sosiel with one level o' crossblood sorc and the water + dragon bloodlines to convert elemental spells to ice and then benefit from increased ice damage. there is armour in the game which boosts elemental damage and a shield which boosts cold damage, so while it sounds odd, having sosiel casting cold-based stormbolts is kinda a thing. we took ascendent element: cold and it always worked. scrolls shouldn't prevent ascendent element from working. a witch learning from scrolls sounds like a bug. HA! Good Fun!

Food Thread - Obsidian Gormand's Edition
sausage gravy is easy, and am thinking homemade biscuits are also easier than most people realize. we ordinarily use heavy cream for the biscuits, which means we don't need to cut butter into flour careful and slow add buttermilk or some other labor intensive exercise. as such we almost invariably use cream for the gravy. prep for the biscuits requires five ingredients and a bowl. takes five minutes, tops? another fifteen minutes bake time... maybe add one extra ingredient as am likely to brush the biscuits with melted butter to help give the biscuits a nice golden brown color. our most common hurdle for the rueben is not the bread but is the russian dressing, which we ordinarily find abhorrent when purchasing store brands. at the moment, 'cause o' the chili pepper shortages, is difficult to find huy fong chili garlic sauce, so making our own russian is improbable. our dressing requires mayo, the aforementioned chili garlic sauce, paprika, a bit o' lemon and worcestershire, horseradish, minced garlic and salt and pepper to taste. curious, we typical have sauerkraut on hand, at least from fall months through spring. find good deli corned beef is not always ez but we manage 'cause am gonna admit we maybe once per year corn our own beef. but again, sriracha, chili garlic sauce and anything which includes the necessary chili peppers is gonna be hit and miss on availability. even when such is available we rare think is worth making russian dressing to have a rueben. is not difficult to find perfect good alternatives to the rueben when am in possession o' quality corned beef. nevertheless, is an admirable and relative unique sandwich, so we make 'em when the spirit moves us. HA! Good Fun!

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
@Gorth we forgot to mention leading strike as a recommended mythic powha for seelah and/or whomever is your tank... which appears to be camellia. seelah, thru mythic 9, usual has the same powhaz for us regardless if we build her paladin or paladin/court poet or paladin with a single level o' sorc or... no particular order: leading strike, ever ready, mythic beast, thundering blows, inspirational leader, last stand, abundant casting, improved critical, weapon focus. if we go azata, then no last stand as life bonding friendship nullifies the benefit. if we go more court poet/paladin, then we take the second tier o' abundant casting as well. for lann, as an archer, am always taking cleaving shot and is almost certain we get expose vulnerability and distracting shot. HA! Good Fun! ps is possible azata is not in the cards for @Gorth. am hesitating to mention, but if you are interested on the azata triggers, we got info from a link. is stuff which already woulda' happened, so minimal spoilers.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
two non-mythic feats we recommend for all melee party members: outflank and seize the moment (for seize, combat reflexes is a prerequisite). surprising, outflank benefits ranged characters, so might as well give to lann outflank as well. there is an amazing synergy 'tween a party with blanket seize the moment and ever ready. if your barbarian is adjacent to a companion (even animal companions... make certain to raise the int o' animal companions to 3 so they may acquire at least outflank and possible seize the moment) with seize the moment, you will benefit from an attack o' opportunity if the companion crits. at high levels you are gonna have a bunch o' attacks per round and your crit chance should be noteworthy. and so if you have three or four companions all attacking an enemy, and one o' you crits, then you all get a free attack, which might produce another crit... and so on. what ever ready does is it increases the number o' possible attacks o' opportunity as well as makes those attacks more likely to hit as well as increasing the damage output. ... 'course the problem with following Gromnir advice is your party might end up looking like a Gromnir party instead o' a @Gorthparty. is plenty o' ways to win in wotr. unfortunate there is so many ways to lose and you may not realize until you is level fifteen or so that your party is fubar. am offering advice to avoid calamity, but is worth just trying stuff which sounds kewl. have fun with the game, and try stuff which just kinda sounds interesting. ain't anybody on the wotr boards recommending turning sosiel into a dedicated intimidator or building a celestial velociraptor. if we had listened only to the experts, we would never have found stuff we think is quirky and fun. ignore Gromnir is equal good advice as is paying heed to Gromnir, and ignore might be more fun. HA! Good Fun! ps the benefits o' teamwork feats such as outflank and seize the moment is another reason to go with the azata mythic and chose life bonding friendship.
