  1. suggestion: pickle the rinds. even mediocre watermelon makes for decent pickled rind. as is our yearly ritual, have been living off of a spring diet heavy with snow peas, but the weather forecast has us worried. temps over 90F means no more local snow peas. the forecast for all next week is 90+. the local asparagus season has maybe a week or so remaining. end of june is likely when we begin getting good corn... similar time for melons. not long thereafter we see fantastic tomatoes. however, if we get even a few days o' rain 'tween now and juneish (unlikely but possible,) the corn in particular will be delayed. long wait 'til end of june. well, the q2 shipment for the rancho gordo bean club (it's a real thing... no joke) should be out for delivery within a week or so. as such am s'posing we will have something to keep us occupied until the corn and melons mature. HA! Good Fun!
  2. the government is seeking emergency relief, so we could get a shadow docket decision almost immediate... or the Court could sit on this until as far out as july. just a reminder, birthright citizenship ain't the relevant issue. what is in question is the scope o' the injunctive relief afforded a single district court judge and based on an admitted shallow reading of tea leaves, it seems increasing likely that we are witnessing the end of nationwide tros from district judges, which is a big f'ing deal. so, a shadow docket decision where we only get an order from the Court and maybe an abbreviated dissenting opinion as explanations, will be the most significant Court action in a couple years. edit: we first brought this tro issue up on this board last friday, but am suspecting most people won't realize the significance until the trump administration starts using the anticipated new reality to deport thousands even while they is losing individual case after case after case. however, not all the scotus news from today is bad. The court ruled that the totality of the circumstances and not just the "moment of threat doctrine" must be used to assess whether the use of police force was "objectively reasonable." practical result o' this is that it becomes far easier to sue cops for excessive force. yeah, cops still get qualified immunity, but this is a win for those who is looking to bring civil rights claims against cops. ... truth is there is way too much law news from today, and is kinda a mixed bag o' good news and bad news. we may try and summarize the cases we personal feel is important, but am facing a deluge. trump is doing so much through novel executive orders that the legal challenges is taxing our ability to keep pace. HA! Good Fun!
  3. sure, when a harkonnen says it, we complain 'bout how malevolent, sinister and misleading it is. ... am not sure we got a point. have been kinda weirded out by the reunited/together again in death observation since we first read dr. yue's death from dune... were 1980. HA! Good Fun!
  4. hadn't specific thought o' it that way, but yeah. edit: and since we were sharing bloomberg... The dramatic reduction in tariffs exceeded expectations in China and sent the dollar and stocks soaring—providing some much-needed market relief for the US president, who is facing pressure as inflation looks set to speed up at home. China equities also surged as the deal—though only a 90-day delay—ended up meeting nearly all of the Chinese president’s core demands. The “reciprocal” tariff for China, which Trump set at 34%, has been suspended—leaving America’s top rival with the same 10% rate that applies to US allies like the UK. “This is arguably the best outcome that China could have hoped for—the US backed down,” said Trey McArver, co-founder of research firm Trivium China. “Going forward, this will make the Chinese side confident that they have leverage over the US in any negotiations.” HA! Good Fun!
  5. keep in mind the three we shared is only a small sample o' US hot dogs https://www.hot-dog.org/culture/regional-hot-dogs doesn't even include the hawaiian puka dog. US corn dogs and bagel dogs each have their own multitude o' variations. also, personal we don't consider polish sausage or brats to be hot dogs. if we were adding polish sausage sandwiches, then am preferring the maxwell street polish to any hot dog the cleveland polish boy is pretty fantastic too, but the addition o' the fries bothers us s smidge. am also feeling the need to opine, unsolicited, that the sugar added to korean corn dogs is a vulgar affront to our culinary sensibilities. why in the holy hell would you roll the damn thing in sugar? to keep on-topic/funny as 'posed to all 'bout food... *shrug* is the only quasi-humorous and not sexual hot dog vid we could think o' at the moment, so sue us. HA! Good Fun! ps am now genuine hungry for a maxwell street polish.
  6. curiously, our refugee and asylum laws is relative new The U.S. Government Turned Away Thousands of Jewish Refugees, Fearing That They Were Nazi Spies World War II prompted the largest displacement of human beings the world has ever seen—although today's refugee crisis is starting to approach its unprecedented scale. But even with millions of European Jews displaced from their homes, the United States had a poor track record offering asylum. Most notoriously, in June 1939, the German ocean liner St. Louis and its 937 passengers, almost all Jewish, were turned away from the port of Miami, forcing the ship to return to Europe; more than a quarter died in the Holocaust. and the nativist US policies o' the late 19th and early 20th century were codified by coolidge in 24 with the passage of the johnson-reed immigration act, but as terrible as were US laws and rules, there were a reason so many displaced, poor and hopeless peoples were escaping the tender mercies o' europe and asia as they endured improbable hardships to reach the US. one o' the few countries willing to accept jewish refugees following ww2 were russia/the soviet union, and the fact those jewish refugees were willing to stay in functional concentration camps as 'posed to returning to russia speaks volumes, no? again, eisenhower in 45... "As matters now stand, we appear to be treating the Jews as the Nazis treated them except that we do not exterminate them. They are in concentration camps in large numbers under our military guard instead of S.S. troops. One is led to wonder whether the German people, seeing this, are not supposing that we are following or at least condoning Nazi policy." regardless, our firstest ever asylum laws only finally got passed in 1951 and those laws were inspired by the collective shame and guilt stemming from the treatment o' jews before, during and even after ww2. the waves o' cambodian and vietnamese boat people, as well as cuban influxes o' immigrants caused crises in the US which tested practical limits o' the nation to absorb so many people. even so, most americans still felt pride when looking at the statue o' liberty and the poem portion you quote and most were committed to finding a way to achieve aspirational goals. the situation today is a bit different. the afrikaner performative nonsense is illustrative o' the intentional cruelty and racism o' the new administration. when the trump administration functional and illegal shut down asylum and refugee programs, more than 10000 afghan refugees had already gone through the years long vetting process. "I want to add some clarity to that number. About 2,000 was the number that we expected to travel over three months, what we thought the pause was going to be, but it's indefinite. So, people are being pulled off flights now. Flights are being canceled, but the truth is there are more than 10,000 Afghans who are fully vetted, security vetted, medically cleared, and ready to go. "And now they don't know what's coming next. We have asked the State Department to give very clear guidance to them, that we hope they're going to do that. They haven't affirmatively confirmed that yet." and yet somehow, the afrikaner "refugees," were vetted (a process which usual takes more than a year,) and brought to the US. other than bruce, am suspecting everybody is able to see what is happening with the afrikaner refugee program. the trump campaigns were bout grievance and outrage as 'posed to offering real solutions (all we ever got were concepts of a plan for health care and every couple weeks were infrastructure week during trump 1.0,) but it didn't matter what were real as long as trump validated grievance and outrage o' his base. for too long, the libs has ignored the suffering o' working class whites, right? finally we got a President who is able to speak the truth that as a nation we went so far left that it is whites who is now the primary victims o' racial injustice. fox viewers saw that blm set the country on fire and the libs just watched everything burn. and why are we spending so much money on inner city school lunch programs which disproportionate help minorities while white folks in the burbs is having a hard time sending their second kid to college? the white genocide in south africa doesn't need be real. the fact that many thousands o' afghans were turned away from the US, more than a few of whom is facing real and lethal consequences in the country o' their birth to make room for fast tracked white farmers from south afrika, is the point o' this bit o' theatre. perhaps the administration needed to distract from the gift 747 that even laura loomer criticizes and maybe the thirty dolls comment were too much for the working class base who is already having trouble making ends meet. or maybe this is just the cruel and racist policies o' the administration which the base now embraces openly 'cause shame is so 2015. trump knows he don't need to do anything constructive just as long as he validates the outrage and grievance o' his base... 'cause it is 'bout time somebody were looking out for the white victims o' racism, yes? HA! Good Fun!
  7. @Gorth go to 1:39 it's a chicago thing. is more than a few other behaviors verboten in chicago, like walking too slow on sidewalks, saying you are from chicago when you are really from buffalo grove, or calling the sears tower anything but sears tower. we were told the ketchup thing got started 'cause chicago were the meatpacking capital o' the US for a considerable period o' time and the locals took meat extreme serious. is also the reason why sausage is the default meat topping on chicago pizza as 'posed to pepperoni. according to the innumerable meat experts o' chicago, it were a common belief that ketchup were used to coverup the taste o' lesser quality meat and such a practice were considered an affront to the meat gods, or somesuch. *shrug* am certain there is dozens o' explanations, but the meat fraud reason were the one we heard back in the late 70s. regardless, everybody from chicago knows that only kids put ketchup on hot dogs. confession: the chicago dog is probable our second favorite hot dog style. sonoran might edge out chicago six outta ten but only 'cause am a big fan o' the bolillo bun. am kinda agreeing with alton brown about the bacon being unnecessary if the hot dog is o' decent quality, but the bolillo makes up for the bacon in our estimation. in point o' fact the difficulty in eating a chicago dog w/o wearing half the condiments is one reason am so ambivalent. the sonoran dog's bun is not only delicious, but it makes the eating experience more enjoyable than the chicago dog. however, ask us tomorrow and we might says chicago is our favorite. ... that said, our favorite hot dog place in the US is in lakewood, ny. the "city" o' jamestown has expanded, so what were a lakewood, ny joint twenty years ago is now in jamestown. whatever. johnny's lunch is a place in western ny which makes the texas variation o' detroit coney dogs. serious. anyways, is kinda funny am able to have such strong opinions about hot dogs, and food in general, but that is likely 'cause o' the time we spent in chicago. HA! Good Fun!
  8. wsj editorial board is not pulling punches paywall, so am including just a couple highlights for those who cannot access. The Great Trump Tariff Rollback As with last week’s modest British agreement, the China deal is more surrender than Trump victory. Apart from the tariff rollback, neither side announced any broader concessions on the substantive trade issues that weigh on the U.S.-China relationship. Those include China’s barriers to American firms, especially in services such as digital and financial, and its chronic intellectual-property theft. ... So after weeks of market turmoil, the economy is left with higher trade costs and greater uncertainty for business, but at least a step back from Smoot-Hawley 2.0. Investors, businesses and households probably would welcome this outcome, which is considerably better than Mr. Trump’s initial plan. ... If there’s a silver lining to this turmoil, it is that markets have forced Mr. Trump to back down from his fever dream that high tariff walls will usher in a new “golden age.” The age didn’t last two months, and it was more leaden than golden. White House aide Peter Navarro, the main architect with Mr. Trump of the Liberation Day fiasco, has been repudiated. ... only marginally less critical than our clown with a flame thrower bit. HA! Good Fun!
  9. *peeks at the bond market* *groan* so, a clown shows up in a nice neighborhood with a flamethrower and sets the biggest house on the block ablaze, declares that not being on fire is an emergency situation and that he will save us from our lack o' burning. eventually, people in the crowd that gather convince the clown to take a break; nobody gets the flamethrower away from the clown or puts the fires out, but the clown does ease off o' the napalm and promises he will take a break... for now. hip hip hooray! the clown pulls out a pack o' cigarettes, fires one up, and then basks contentedly in the twin glow from the still burning house as well as the adulation o' the crowd. ... am admitting confusion as am not sure if we are s'posed to be giving credit to the clown for saving the house from burning down completely (for now) or for his initial plan which saves us from not being on fire. weren't we all gonna get rich from tariffs? weren't tariffs gonna pay down the deficit? a ninety day pause definite don't convince manufacturers to bring factories back to the US (especial not the good manufacturing jobs as 'posed to sneakers and dolls,) and sure as heck ain't reshaping the world economy to benefit the US. but at least the clown was doing something, right? gotta give him credit for that. *chuckle* too many americans is nuts. HA! Good Fun!
  10. Trump reportedly set to accept a luxury jet from Qatar for possible use as Air Force One Congress erupts over Trump's billion-dollar crypto deal am recalling when congressional republicans were trying to convince us o' a biden crime family conspiracy via out-of-context and outright fabricated emails and texts. real evidence were always just a couple weeks away. trump is raking in billions, right out in the open. ... however, hunter did make money off a stoopid painting and got jobs he didn't deserve based on nothing but his last name, which means they are all bad, so... edit to avoid double-post: Poland says Russian secret service behind 2024 fire in Warsaw shopping centre HA! Good Fun!
  11. bunch o' friends went to the a's v. yankees game yesterday. with all the family in attendance, there a couple dozen o' us. did some seriously unserious grilling afterwards. gonna be able to survive on the good vibes for quite some time. HA! Good Fun!
  12. over-under on an snl weekend update pope joke about pizza or ketchup on hot dogs official being made a sin? edit: added vid for those unaware o' the local unwritten ordinance HA! Good Fun!
  13. am knowing it is silly, but the dude has delivered a single homily as pope and am already having him as our GOAT. gonna need work very hard to lose that position. HA! Good Fun!
  14. ... "The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it." doesn't say what miller suggests. needs be a rebellion or invasion AND the threat to public safety must be legal sufficient as to necessitate suspension o' habeas corpus. is not simple a matter o' trump declaring we got an invasion, so he may therefore suspend habeas corpus. however... am not sure how many times we need have this same conversation. "can't actually do that," is irrelevant. imagine trump waits 'til he gots ten c-5 loads worth o' undocumented immigrants he wants to "deport" to el salvador, rwanda and libya. and let's say scotus decides in the upcoming birthright citizenship case (which isn't actual about the legitimacy o' birthright citizenship btw,) that a district court judge can no longer grant nationwide tros/injunctive relief but is instead limited to granting to relief to respondents appearing before their court and in their district. so consider the possibility that on some friday or saturday night in the not too distant future, the trump administration organizes a mass deportation effort and suspends habeas corpus for tren de aragua, ms-13, lawyers at big name law firms and the less than a dozen trans athletes competing in ncaa sports, gets 'em on planes before lawyers are able to successful challenge the legality o' the intended deportations, and then the us military flies those persons to libya, el salvador and rawanda. trump has been practicing how to move deportees just ahead o' court responses. the upcoming scotus decision we mentioned may make the situation even more dire for potential deportees as individual judges could have their reach limited by a significant degree. yeah, when biden was President, near every conservative cause ended up before judge kacsmaryk in texas. conservatives sudden believe that one judge shouldn't have so much power, and the truth is they might be right, but their motives is pretty freaking transparent and self-serving. regardless, once all those people is outside the US, one step ahead of the law, trump will be able to do the same thing he is doing now and pretends as if he is powerless to fix the problem. of course the Court could eventual order trump to try and get those people back, but what nobody wants to admit is that is the extent o' their power. if trump says he tried his darndest to return all those people back to the US, but that el salvadaor, libya and rwanda refused to comply, what then? heck, what if all those planes carrying deportees crashed into the ocean? doesn't much matter, does it? if trump refuses or creates a situation where he literal cannot bring back his deportees, then what? well, of course we could impeach trump... can't do... illegal to do... impossible to do... that kinda thinking only applies to Presidents who follow the rules and traditions o' the US. trump is ignorant, covetous, petty and vain to a degree we has never seen in a chief executive, but people keep pretending as if next time he will follow the rules? serious? HA! Good Fun!
  15. not to keep beating on this... recall this story? am pretty sure sarah anama is teaching same class as @Hurlshot, yes? world civilization for middle schoolers? folks on the right are quick to label sarah as woke and her defenders on the left don't wanna insult her by calling her woke, but regardless, we are talking 'bout the same behavior. now sure, trump folks (and more than a few so-called libertarians,) see a ridiculous spectrum o' actions as woke, but even so, this ain't a matter o' simple pejorative use. particular since the civil rights movement, modeling behaviours o' inclusion and mutual respect has been deemed positive and admirable by just about everybody. not anymore. even when the right and left is talking 'bout the same thing, the kinda original meaning o' woke, the right sees as pejorative worthy and the left now shies away from describing a person as woke. kinda ironic as am personal not a fan o' the word "woke," but that is 'cause am mild annoyed by reductionist short-hand slang. yet another example o' trump folks and weekend libertarians compelling us to defend something we don't actual approve. HA! Good Fun! ps am not gonna get into pope politics until we got a better idea o' who he is, and reading snippets online ain't gonna tell us much. however, the following story won't even need be true to drive many absolute bonkers: New Pope Has Creole Roots in New Orleans Robert Francis Prevost, the Chicago-born cardinal selected on Thursday as the new pope, is descended from Creole people of color from New Orleans. The pope’s maternal grandparents, both of whom are described as Black or mulatto in various historical records, lived in the city’s Seventh Ward, an area that is traditionally Catholic and a melting pot of people with African, Caribbean and European roots.
  16. what the alt-right did with woke is a bit more insidious than is being described even if am thinking it were organic. woke were not always pejorative. original, and for a long time, woke were considered to be a compliment. sure, woke didn't get much use from most o' the public until the last couple decades, but it has been around for a while and were considered a positive attribute for near all o' its existence in the american lexicon. so this ain't like lesbians taking ownership of the c-word. ... the thing is, what makes something woke hasn't changed much in spite o' the fact that nowadays the term is mostly used as an insult. a woke teacher is perhaps somebody helping students understand that endemic and systematic racism ain't new or unique to the american experience, enable kids to make the connections where they realize that even though a white banker who would never in a million years call a customer the n-word, could nevertheless be promoting racist policies. woke hasn't changed. the teacher we describe is woke whether is being described by somebody who voted for kamala harris or donald trump. however, in 2025 the harris voter is less likely to describe our example enlightened teacher as woke precise 'cause the trump voters has successful managed to turn woke into a pejorative. being aware o' those social forces seen and unseen which result in disparate outcomes for persons based on race, gender, or whatever, and then doing something to fix those inequities is what is woke. trumpism has managed to make woke a curse regardless o' the fact both tribes functional use the term similar. kinda f'ing evil when you actual think 'bout it, no? HA! Good Fun! ps sadly, there is more than a few sjw types out there who somehow see everything through the prism o' race, and they take every opportunity to remind white males o' their privilege and to criticize anybody they see as being too reckless with their microaggressions and for their perceived failure to properly use trigger warnings. *eye roll* the flaw o' such people ain't that they is woke but that they is d-bags.
  17. ok, we said we were gonna ignore pope stuff for a few days, but am thinking this is a bit different... HA! Good Fun!
  18. well, at various points in history, indulgences were a lucrative business venture for the church, an organization which were active involved in marketing their product. the creative businessmen o' the church even found ways to expand their product line to so-called alms-giving, so... but as to woke grievance and outrage. is not woke if your family or tribe tribe agrees with a practice. for example, if you got an autistic child, then chances are you don't see programs which seek to help autistic children succeed in school and life as woke... unless the kids being helped is o' a racial or social group you do not belong to. also, if your tribe believes they is being shamed or embarrassed, or if they/them is giving a benefit or reward to somebody whom you don't believe deserves the benefit, then you are gonna be angered by the practice. label those who done you wrong as woke. is difficult to explain rational and reasonable why it's wrong when they do it. converse, call stuff woke or cancel culture is quicker, easier than meaningful defense. it also helps that anybody who questions your invocation o' "woke" or "cancel culture" may be labeled as "woke." furthermore, once a recognized figure of your tribe identifies an outsider as "woke," y'all can feel justified in attacking such people free o' any guilt. it is a very convenient and easy to follow system, and if you question the system... woke. HA! Good Fun! ps am genuine amused by the far-right/trump coalition outrage against marxism/communism/_____ism given trumpian rejection of free markets and his embrace o' a kleptocratic autarky while promoting a cultural revolution attack o' intellectuals, experts and elites. pps jeanine pirro is the interim US attorney for dc ... whatever.
  19. as somebody who were anticipating drive-away dolls only to be a bit disappointed, am kinda ambivalent about this. "it wasn't a terrible film." we liked dolls cast and a few o' the performances. liked some/most o' the dialogue, although am admitting we can't help but measure coen films to a miller's crossing standard, which ain't fair. we even liked the look o' the film, which is important for visual media. drive-away dolls story was meh. pacing were meh... which we found odd as tricia cooke's editing on previous coen films were typical a strength. as much as we liked some performances, others were noticeably meh. etc. too much meh. we wanna like this, but... HA! Good Fun!
  20. am gonna try and ignore most pope news for a bit as am already nauseated by the thought o' all the expert opinions on robert prevost/leo xiv from people who couldn't pick him outta a police lineup last week. that said, am gonna go out on a limb despite our already admitted ignorance and posit that not trump is a win o' sorts. ... if the universe punishes us for our hubris, we will be maximal disappointed. HA! Good Fun!
  21. yeah, this ain't even the most terrible time in US history... which is part o' what makes it so disappointing. for gawd's sake, the last time the alien enemies act were used were ww2 when we sent japanese american citizens to internment camps, sometimes for years. the Court at the time said doing so were okie dokie (only three dissents) and the move was popular with the US public. is so much bad and forgotten history. the patriot act were passed overwhelming and bipartisan in 2001, 'cause when people is afraid, they cheerful hand over freedom. the unfair lending practices which quietly has led to massive income disparity 'tween races in this country were only final made illegal in the seventies and while it persists in many places even today, much o' it were curbed by the 80s... so we likely only need a few more generations to see fundamental change as home ownership leads to generational wealth and you functional need wait for the death of home owners to see any kind o' change. too terrible to believe, not so long ago, the government were doing coercive sterilizations o' native american women. as recent as the 70s we had the weather underground and a smidge previous were that little kerfuffle at the pentagon. how does people not know just how bad were race relations in the 60s? heck, if you are too lazy to learn history, then maybe go ahead and watch mississippi burning. mccarthyism. american nazis holding rallies at madison square garden on the eve of ww2. the use of the sedition and espionage acts. the great depression. chinese exclusion. company towns and union busting. and yeah, we already survived a civil war, although we are still dealing with the scars and the never-healed wounds. in fact, the only part o' all this which genuine shocks us is that we never thought americans would accept trumpism w/o major economic upheaval or a war. bunch o' snowflakes. 'course with trump trying to make stagflation great again, we might just get the economic upheaval. have mentioned more than once just how similar our current situation is to the 1920s. post global pandemic we saw massive income disparity and social unrest with people afraid o' change. at the time, many people, unable to make ends meet, were being told how fantabulous were the economy, and that cheesed 'em off more than a little. to fix things, Congress imposed stoopid across the board protective tariffs... take as bad news or good news, but we have been here before, and more than once. HA! Good Fun! ps and the point o' a few o' these appointments has gotta be pretty much nothing but an effort to punk the libs.
  22. well, the reapers is gonna return relative soon, so is all moot anyway. heck the reaper cycle is a mere 50,000 years. HA! Good Fun!
  23. Some Giant Law Firms Shy Away From Pro Bono Immigration Cases Fearing the wrath of President Trump, some elite law firms are declining pro bono work on lawsuits challenging the administration’s policies. "Lawyers from Gibson Dunn explained that it was afraid of incurring Mr. Trump’s wrath if the firm was associated publicly with a lawsuit that sought to restore legal representation for unaccompanied immigrant children, the five people said. Gibson Dunn is not the only large law firm shying away from immigration litigation." ... "Groups like the Amica Center have long relied on big law firms to provide legions of young lawyers and paralegals who can help prepare cases free of charge. Traditionally, pro bono work has been intended to help the poor and defenseless." ... "Sirine Shebaya, executive director of the National Immigration Project, a nonprofit that litigates cases for immigrants and pushes for their rights, called the large firms’ recent pivots “part of the chilling effect” of Mr. Trump’s executive orders. “It has gotten much harder to get law firms to take a case on pro bono,” Ms. Shebaya said." ... from a may 1 post by yours truly" "so even if trump keeps losing in court, he has effective reduced the pool of potential lawyers willing to take on cases, which makes future trump loses less likely. who do you think is representing the undocumented immigrants in most o' the fed cases? you might be surprised to learn just how much o' pro bono work the big firms do, and the big washington and new york firms trump targeted is known for taking on a noteworthy proportion o' immigration cases as part o' their pro bono portfolios." am aware that the stoopid of trump and his most visible cronies, coupled with repeated examples o' trump 2.0 buffoonery, has made a few people dismissive of this administration's efforts to dismantle a system which took 250 years to build, a democratic republic which were only recent approaching the promise of founding documents such as the declaration of independence and the bill of rights. the sh!te going on in plain view is serious, sinister and surprisingly well organized. hopefully the all too numerous indifferent, cynical and uninformed US citizens wake up before they realize that what is broken cannot always be fixed. and no, biden requesting and scotus allowing the fed to regulate ghost guns is so not analogous to what is going on in trump 2.0... just in case @Guard Dogis still following this thread. maybe gd don't like what biden did and he likely disagrees with the outcome by the Court, but the feds didn't resort to dirty tricks and the Court didn't create new law just to punish gd. so not the same. and speaking of... Federal court rules Rümeysa Öztürk must be transferred to detention in Vermont trump 2.0 has been using bs excuses to transfer detainees to louisiana and texas where there is judges more accommodating o' the administration. by physical moving individuals such as rumeysa, asap and just before judges and lawyers in ny, maryland and vermont may react, trump 2.0 has been, until now, successful avoiding the jurisdictional limits o' court orders. am knowing that with all the bad news coming day after day, forcing the return o' the tufts student to vermont doesn't feel like a major win, but it is a bigger deal than it seems, particular if other courts follow suit. the trump 2.0 habeas shell game shennanigans were something we foresaw, but perhaps courts will prevent that kinda thing from happening henceforth. HA! Good Fun!
  24. keep in mind that Gromnir is old, so is maybe not a shock that when trump shared his thoughts on the need for doll sacrifice... ...we recollected an old bloom county contribution. and by the way o' explanation, in an earlier bloom county release, trump's brain had been transplanted into the body o' a cat. by education and experience am personal embracing free market ideology far more than am seeing any kinda benefit from trump's central planning model. even so, am recognizing that given the rampant corruption o' this administration coupled with how outta touch is folks like djt and musk, we would not be surprised if all the young people who currently thinks crypto fueled get rich quick schemes and tate brother tutorials is the future will wake up to terrible reality and go to the other extreme... am not even convinced such would be a bad outcome. HA! Good Fun! ps @Azdeus kudos to sweden where tesla sales for the year has dropped by 81%.
