I know it's becoming a bit of pattern where someone posts something negative about Epic and Fenixp jumps to their defense, so just to elaborate: I don't like exclusives. I never liked exclusives. Exclusives suck. The way Epic goes about getting their place on the market sucks and I wish they didn't do that, let alone a whole array of issues the store has (like, y'know, not complying with GDPR and tiny details like that.) Nonetheless, Mr. Sweeney is entirely correct. Historically, systems which made more sense to develop for (and now I'm not strictly talking about ease of use, throwing bags of money around certainly helps, see) eventually became dominant. I can pretty much guarantee that the people yelling about how Evil epic is and how they're not going to touch their store with a 10 ft pole, while very vocal, are also very much in a minority (see cancellation numbers of Phoenix Point). The explanation's pretty simple: Your average Joe doesn't care whether he installs Steam or Epic store, what he does care is what his friends have installed so that he can play Fortpex Legenite with them. As long as Epic makes sure that all sequels and variations on Fortpex Legenite is released on Epic store, customers will flood to it. For every unique and ambitious release like Phoenix Point, people will flood to it. For every high-profile release like The Division 2 or Metro Exodus, people will flood to it. And all that'll be then left exclusively using Steam will be the vocal minority, which shareholders/CEOs don't really give a toss about. The working class will rise and take down the corporate overlords!!1 On behalf our other corporate overlords. Bit more seriously, I think this just makes it more important to share news like this one so average Joe becomes educated Joe.

I think this was good write up of the movie and the controversy. Skip first 6 minutes if you aren't interested in Milwaukee or whatever it was.

I did like the first half of Captain Marvel. I was genuinely surprised. "Could the internet hate-machine really be this wrong?" I thought to myself. Turns out they weren't. The latter half made it almost the worst Marvel movie. There can be no payback without struggle and couple of minutes of struggle doesn't count for ****.

Newest Anthem drama: Level 1 weapon is better than anything else you can get in the game. This sounds to me like the worst one yet. A loot and shooter where gearing up your gun is meaningless.

Last Orville episode was damn good.

I really hope this will end the "games as service" thing EA and some others are trying to push. They release a broken game and then as a "service" try to patch it to some working state. What really breaks my heart is that some people have bought into it. They think when developer fixes something utterly broken, it is a sign that the system is working. No, just no. The game should have never been released in the state it was.

I just finished the first Half Life. Am I... am I now a gamer?

I feel like they over corrected Burnham's character. She rarely showed emotions in the first season and now she's always caring and not just caring. She's caring the most. If Discovery doesn't get any better, I think the second season is going to be the last season for me.

Umlauts signify a specific vowel pronunciation as I recall, so are in all parts of names and words. Eg, das mädchen = the girl (which can also be used as a forename, eg Mädchen Amick) for German. That said Jääskeläinen is a Finnish name I think, so its not an umlaut if I understand it correctly, but a Scandinavian character used in the Finnish alphabet (if we still have some Finnish speaking posters they may be able to elaborate further). You're correct if I understood everything correctly. I mean I just speak the language. I really don't know some specific grammar naming conventions. I did go and check it out on wiki. As for first names, I hadn't ever thought about it, but there really aren't that many first names with ä or ö in them, like at most ten or so.

am kinda an opposite number to enoch as am doing law stuff to mildly annoy the state. a wee bit sweary most days, our profession is to let lou (the government) beat on us 'til he becomes exhausted or so frustrated as to make capitulation a reasonable course o' action. HA! Good Fun! ps doesn't pay well but at least we lose the respect o' our professional peers. I do stuff for the people who do law stuff. You're a criminal?
