I hated both of them, but I gave Wizardry the benefit of the doubt for longer, as I used to play the first three of the series back in the eighties (!!) There was some good stuff in Wiz8, but there was a lot of tedious hacking and slashing to get to it. I got DD because Beyond Divinity was being released, and I thought it was worth a trial. I got very bored, very quickly. The puzzles seem to defeat logic in favour of chance exploration, which is not my idea of fun.

I think one of the problems with allowing a non-human PC is that you'd pretty much have to scrap any romance options. It's much easier, not to mention makes more sense in the story, for the male and female NPCs to have a romance with a human PC rather than have to write for, for example from KOTOR 1, Bastila having some kind of flirty romance with a Rodian PC male. Also, I would bet that my IQ, despite my extra experience and learning, has dropped by a considerable amount over the years (age is the divisor in the Intelligence Quotient) since I last took a test.
