  1. That was over a decade ago. One would hope that with experience, comes responsibility.
  2. I didn't see my life flash before my eye. At least I can't recall if I did. I wasn't even supposed to be NEAR a car. We had all gone out for a big night, and had safely returned. One of my flatmates had to get his car out and wanted a friends car moved. I volunteered and the stupid idjit didn't notice that I was 30 Wild Turkeys south of sobriety. Not many images from that night, just when I caught the keys my hand and "Joy Ride!" popped into my head; the overwelming desire to know if the back of the road sign on the other side of the road had the same sign affixed to the back of it (), and the sub-millisecond attention span that saw me keep hold of the steering wheel as I turned my head and body to look ... then I was back at home, and another flat mate asked me what happened, everyone else was out looking for me. The police turned up. They asked me if I had been driving. I asked my flatmate what I should say. He said the truth, so I said I had ... Then I remember sitting in the police station and all these men standing around me,, and I was thinking "someone must have done something serious, they all seem pretty upset". ) I found out later someone from the local nightclub recognised me in the wreckage and pulled me clear. I then walked home. No injuries: in fact I have had worse scars from trying to complete back flips in said nightclub when too drunk to make it, and my shins were cut by the edge of the podium on which I started the gymnastic man
  3. Does it have a two-halves-of-a-coconut clip-clop sound?
  4. I would say that there is little chance that the game is unbalanced: especially as the monsters scale to your level. Perhaps you are avoiding some potent tactic in your battle strategy? Perhaps you are meant to run away, so that you can't just wander aimlessly around the map (and break the flow of the narrative)?
  5. The Search function is your friend.
  6. I eventually operated the cheat code and gave my PC endless coin ... just to get all the glass armour (HOW MUCH?) and try to get to the end, in a last ditch effort to salvage something from the game. Edit: Don't forget it took about six hours to complete the mushroomm quest.
  7. I'm hoping the ramifications of SPORE might help this. If push comes to shove: less weapons, more animations.
  8. Christmas and PS3 competition.
  9. Well it's not just time. But also satisfaction. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you continue to play a game for 50 hours without it satisfying you in some way, you're quite stupid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sticks and stones, Eldar. I kept playing because Morrowind perfected the art of "anticipation", meaning I kept expecting something really really good and worthwhile to happen. When I decided that nothing on the game's discovery curve was worth the time I had already sunk into playing it (and after I had wandered around because I was VERY impatient to accelerate the main quest), I uninstalled it.
  10. Castle Wolfenstein! Your VIPness doesn't scare me, Eldar! *maniacal laughter*
  11. *shakes in boots* /acting
  12. I didn't say Obsidian was changing their nomenclature, I was pointing out that the name "Georgia" isn't a girlie name. I assumed Meshugger was a US citizen because he didn't seem to have heard of the former USSR country of Georgia.
  13. At 50 hours, I don't think you're really giving up on a game... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm nothing if not stubborn. I hadn't progressed very far into the main story arc (just managed to get to the Wizard Keep isthmus half-way up on the eastern side), and I was totally sick of trying to, so whatever title you want to give that feeling, that's what I felt. I just despaired at messing around on pointless sidequests until the dude gave me another clue for the main geas.
  14. That's actually very clever writing; paedophiles are (unfortunately) very adept at belnding into the community and using their camouflage to achieve a postion of trust, and when they are finally outed it can be a tremendous shock to everyone.
  15. There are glimmers of irony in light of the fact that Gromnir, too, might have misjudged much of his audience. That is to say, many who ignore the OED
  16. Thread pruned. Keep on topic, people. I have had a near-death experience. It involved a big night out and a car ... which I managed to roll into a power pole ... and walk away from. Pity I only remember a few images. Yes, it did change my attitude a lot. And for a while.
  17. You Americans! Your knowledge of geography colours your Weltanschauung. Georgia is also a former USSR central Asian country ... notable for such alumni as Stalin. So, not so much a **** name, then.
  18. It's not relesaed in Britain until tomorrow ... so I have no opinion. It seems like a good game ... I am one of those who gave up on Morrowind after playing it for about fifty hours, so I am not sure where I fall with Oblivion ... I'm not playing much at the moment. As the main story arc is (from all reports) better, and the progress along it is (also apparently) more "fun", then I can't see why I wouldn't buy it. Not sure if I'll pre-order tonight or not, though.
  19. Holy Half-Dead Necromonger Lord Marshal crusading to the Underverse?
  20. That's one of the barbaric practises that the Attic Greeks warned against (e.g. Trojan War) ...
  21. I don't have ANY alternate identities. I think most of you have never participated IRL coversations. )
  22. Does this represent (another) volte-face for Hades? "
