because its baseball. no one gives a damn about a baseball game. "

disagree completely. the combat controls in jedi academy is more twitch gaming and pretty much has nothing to do with a characters stats or abilities, but more to do with the gamers ability to mash buttons. the only rpg i can think of that tried to do this kind of combat was vampire: the masquerade bloodlines, and most people felt that the combat aspect, because it incorporated "twitch" gaming, was clunky and unsatisfactory. no offense, but what you described would be a terrible addition to the kotor (or any other rpgs) series.

"bonus dialogue" in KOTORII
NeverwinterKnight replied to neonblack102's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
no you dont. i got the extra dialogue while i used 3 different characters, 3 different profiles, 2 of which were male, 1 female. -
thats not really proof (i know you didnt say it was, but just for those who might read it and think it is). as far as i know, anyone can buy the rights to a web address that isnt already owned.

i believe the korriban holocron only is accessible if you say that revan was darkside. if you say revan was lightside, the holocrons always get damaged in the explosion.

"bonus dialogue" in KOTORII
NeverwinterKnight replied to neonblack102's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
oh. i think i saw that one then. i wasnt sure if that was an easter egg or part of the usual dialogue when using a female pc. -

How many Different Rulesets are there??
NeverwinterKnight replied to Darth Sketch's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
has star wars always used the d20 system? the only pnp game ive played was way back in like 1991 or 1992 using those old sourcebooks for star wars by west end games. i never knew what the ruleset was actually called. -

confused on the ending
NeverwinterKnight replied to Darth Neo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
its also been widely theorized that kreia exaggerated the effect of the force bond so that youd think twice about killing her yourself. if you ask everyone else about the force bond, every single jedi master acknowledges the force bond, but states they have never heard it where the death of one person means the death of the other. so basically kreia just exaggerated the effect of the force bond. think about it, if you believe that it will only hurt you if kreia dies, you might take the chance of killing her before she gets you to achieve her goals. but if you believe that her death means your death, youre more likely to do everything in your power to keep her alive and well. afterall, her name is darth traya for a reason. deceit and betrayal are her thing. -
Another interesting game
NeverwinterKnight replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
one thing im a little disappointed with is there is no real stealth options (or if there are, i dont know how to do it). some missions require you to go in to "enemy teritory", but once youre in there they see you and start shooting away, making it almost impossible to do what you need doing. -
What i want for a Kotor 3 :p
NeverwinterKnight replied to Kggabberman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
ive said it once and ill say it numerous times anytime a k3 speculation thread pops up: this series just needs to have an expansion pack end the story. no new groundbreaking features, no new graphics engine, nothing new except the story, in which it itself isnt even "new", but rather just finally finishes the revan/exile story once and for all. think of it as nwn:hotu for the kotor series. about 15 to 20 hours gameplay that finishes what k2 started. then move on to a new series that has NOTHING to do with revan, the exile, or the events during that time period. makes everyone happy. -

Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors
NeverwinterKnight replied to Gryphcon's topic in Computer and Console
like others have alluded to, im not sad to see them go per se, but rather a little sad to see another rpg developer go out of business. but the fact they continually blamed their publisher (directly or indirectly) for any flaws in their games was enough for me to not lose sleep over their demise. maybe obsidian can pick up their talented developers/programmers so that obsidian will have enough staff to work on their third title. -
that sounds very intriguing, star wars or not. unfortunately that project wont be completed for what, another 3 to 6 years from now?

i still havent found one i want to join yet. me and my procrastination.

Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors
NeverwinterKnight replied to Gryphcon's topic in Computer and Console
to be honest, i dont think thats the case. in most reviews, they dont really talk about any major bugs with kotor2. they mention the slowdowns and framerate issues, but i havent read any that comment on the major game stoppers. in contrast, i think every thing ive read of vampires talks about the game stopping bugs and the horrible framerates. add to the fact troika already had a reputation for buggy games and little to no support and that might have been the straw that broke the camels back. -
Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors
NeverwinterKnight replied to Gryphcon's topic in Computer and Console
i think troikas problem (or a small part of it) was the reputation they earned for making buggy games. perhaps they should have spent more time making a stable game and less time trying to do out-of-this-world things with their games. -
id probably play more mmorpgs if they actually had decent ones out there. the idea, in of itself, about playing a game with others online is a good one. the problem is the games usually fall well short of actually achieving any kind of success in terms of entertainment value for those of us who dont just want to go around killing things aimlessly.

i wasnt even referring to the prestige classes. i meant other "important" cutscenes and conversations that become available as you get farther along in your leveling. maybe it doesnt. ive never modded so i wouldnt know. i was just thinking that it might, especially if events are level-based.

isnt vampires considered a sure fire hit? i would have thought vampires is just as much a "household name" as kotor or nwn. -
wont that cause events to trigger at the wrong time? for instance, if an event triggers at level 15, then instead of it triggering at about the halfway point of the game, it wont trigger until near the end, cause problems.
